Its common with the first wave being sent out Andy. Im sure Mattel has noticed and told the factories to check up on quality control with the second batch coming soon to stores.
I don’t understand how they can possibly say that these are “premium collectors items” when their quality control is SO GOD AWFUL. Every time I’ve bought a Hammond Collection figure there has been SOMETHING wrong with it! I don’t know if it’s just bad luck, but it’s ridiculous at this point. My Carnotaurus has weak joints which I don’t know how to fix. It looks exhausted because its tail and head are droopy. My Rex refuses to stand up right because of it’s horribly designed leg joints, and my medium sized figs (Concavonator, Bary, Metri, Irritator, Cerato, Corytho) all have similar issues with their legs and necks.
They are not premium items, they are just cheap toys. All my HC figures are either became loose over the time, already came with problems or just started to break overall. All of them had QC issues, including paint scratching off or missing somewhere entirely. They will not stand test of time and in couple of more years the rubber parts on them will start to degrade, joints will finally give up. Also their plastic is super cheap and you can easily break their Rexy figure. I assume same with the Giga. What a complete joke
Really? That's very unfortunate! All of my HC dinosaurs have come in good conditions. Too bad there's many users having problems.

My hammond collection rex doesn't have that strong of legs joints and loose joints on my para and bary(the rest are fine and I have no issues)
@@TheRealHALODOG That’s not just him, those QC issues are plaguing Mattel figures since 2018. Amber Collection suffered horribly from those and now HC line apparently goes to that territory. No way those figures will stood up the test of time like Kenner toys

I haven't even seen an empty hook at Target, lately, for Hammond Collection products.
I hope when they do get back in stock at target that they do fix this issue because I think the best suggestion is to wait a little while, thanks Andy for the heads up
I got it in target but it was the last one but that was my target
I got mine in the mail today, I guess I was lucky cause it’s perfectly fine, arms and eyes are good, joints feel fine and it looks incredible, I hope others are able to get a proper figure.

Well.. good thing I’m near a Target so i can do my own “quality control”.
This is probably why they're taking so long to restock these figures. QC issues these varying and baffling are- well, baffling.

Yeah. Frankly while I understand the critiques, this seems more like an issue with the factories then mattels team behind JP ITSELF (yes they are different). Because the team have listened to multiple of our criticisms.
Thank god for john hammond, really lucky that the hammond collection giganotosaurus that i bought doesnt have any of these problems.

It would actually be cool to "fix" the missing eye problem with a custom either scar or cut paint job with blood or something. Idk, just an idea if your figure is missing the eye.
Yea I love how creative the idea is. If you genuinely don't mind then it's a great solution. Personally I'd rather have a giga with a missing eye instead of one with 2 right arms as I can make a new eye and paint them both. A cool blind giga like the Battle at big rock/chaos theory Allosaurus is cool!! 🦖

It's always worth to wait until the second batch, specially since HC is in constant change and evolution. They're always changing the process and figuring stuff out, things like this are bound to happen
I'm not sure if I should be glad I should wait until they restock the Hammond Collection Giganotosaurus figures in Target stores or not because if that's why Mattel didn't restock them yet because of people getting their own but having issues with them then....wow.
No wonder they haven't restock them yet because people receive them "early" unclean, broken, not feeling too well or incomplete.
So I hope Mattel restock and polished them really good because....there's no way they will do dinosaur toys collectors dirty. Especially when it comes to Giganotosaurus in Hammond Collection form because I really wanted that toy.
I just got both the Giga and Theri and they are both in perfect condition, no defects. I did not preorder, I stayed awake untill 12:30 a.m. and ordered online at Target right when it launched. I knew it would sell out before morning came. Mine are from that batch so I think the ones from the Preorders must be the ones with the defects. Originally, I did Preorder, but ended up canceling the preorders....glad I did.
I found one at my local target and I came with at least 3 QC issues. 1. The jaw has a pretty tough time staying closed, there’s some molding gunk on the front of the head which is the least problematic and lastly there’s a crack in the middle of the thigh.
Lucky, my giga has no eyes, it has two right arms, it doesn't wanan stand up, it's tail has holes
Have been playing around with mine for the last couple days but so far no issues. Joints are good and no issues on the sculpt so I got lucky 😅
Picked one up in store today in Miami, no issues at all 🎉
Yep, totally just gonna move to America so I can buy it in store and avoid this happening :/
Currently the only option to even get this thing outside America at all is $300+ on eBay. Still don’t understand why they refuse to make them available at Target anywhere but America.
Unless they do a 2.0 version improving the articulation movements on the joints this should be good otherwise I think everyone should have the HC Giganotosaurus in their collection and I’m hoping re-release it like they did with 2.0 HC Rexy fig
This figure makes me think that the JWD Giga looks more like an Acro than a Giga
In the earlier concept arts this thing was clearly an oversized highly accurate acrocanthosaurus without any osteoderms or spikes and it makes sense because the acro is from NA but just like how JP raptors are actually deinonychus under the name of its Mongolian close relative so it makes sense that they wanted to give us an accurate acro but also naming it giga.
thankfully my copy doesn't have any issues and I've been taking very good care of it by barely touching it as much. I also tend to mostly buy these toys in physical stores since I've always ran into quality control issues directly from Target's website. but then again I've been complaining about Target's poor quality customer service overall since 2015.
my giga is fine i checked his body
no double left or right hand
no eye loss
no holes
no meleted glue
he is in perfect condition i was happy
besides for my gigas arm being a bit stiff, a little bit of hair drier action will it up, and thank raptor Jesus, my figure was delivered in good condition

Thank goodness. I just got my Giga and I thought the left arm was messed up. Turns out it was turned the wrong way but that actually scared me. I got this thing for 45 bucks on Target and thankfully I got lucky, though for some reason, the mid tail was out of its spot when I took it out of the package. Still, Mattel needs to seriously up their quality control to prevent such a mishap from happening again. I just hope to dear god that the Pyroraptor figures don’t have any problems as big as this
Probably won’t have any issue with this guy… because it’s not looking like it will be released in Europa 🙃
It's available at Smyths in Europe. I was just in one of their stores in the Netherlands and they had about 8 of them. Pricey tho because it's 80 euros, which is why I didn't pick one up.

In irland not avalable. Never was! Never! Never ever! And will not. Why?! Why!? Why?!
Therefore, in case you have problems like this,you should apply "the godzilla pose".
They place any figure of any carnivorous theropod in a position similar to that of a kangaroo,with the tail trailing and the body raised while the head is placed downwards.
Or find/create a figure stand which can hold any Hammond Collection figure in case the figure falls forward.
I also saw someone this morning on Instagram who's giga had two of the jw logo on both feet
Today 8-11-2024, I finally got my Hammond Collection Giganotosaurus from target after getting help from an employee by getting it in the back room and after opening it once I got back home, so far I don’t find an QC controls and errors.
Well i guess I'm lucky i wasn't able to pre-order Giga. I can be selective in store
I haven’t seen the giga in stores yet, but I have actually seen the splotchy melted glue on other Jurassic figures before at Target. One I remember particularly was a stegosaurus, because the entire face was covered in it and I was shocked that it was put out on shelves like that….

I got my Hammond collection Giga on the target website and when it arrived on June 16 I opened it and no problems. And I also got the Theri.
Really embarrassasing from Mattel, errors like the having the wrong arm on figures shouldn't happen.
I hope the Hammond collection doesn’t become SH monster arts with there quality

I haven't noticed any issues with my Giganotosaurus, but after a week I realized that my Therizinosaurus had a right humerus on its left arm. :(
I feel like I've gotten pretty lucky with Hammond Collection. No QC issues with any of my original trilogy HC figures, and I haven't really been buying any of the Jurassic World HC stuff other than the Concavenator which I got on sale.. It does have some disappointing loose joints in several spots but that's the closest I've personally gotten to QC issues with the entire line. I've certainly heard many disappointing stories and I feel for those collectors, you'd think they'd be better with QC by now.
Specifically for me I haven’t opened the boxes just yet but two figures had yellow paint 🎨 over the glass eye. One more so than the other from Target app and one in store. One however looked perfect on its eyes. One Giga has a loose tail piece moving around inside the box.
I had the same problems with the Alan Grant raptor 2 pack and the male raptor stand alone. Grant and both raptors had two left forearms. After all the loose joints the raptors and other Dino's I bought between the Amber and Hammond collection, I bid farewell to those lines. They look great but the QC is ass.
This is all I've experienced with hammond collection... not many showed up in my area and they all have wrong parts, very loose or broken joints and they are only getting worse as they age. Just floppy heaps on the shelf. 😢
Mann, on top of that this is the 1st time Ive been limited in army building figures with the Blue Raptor Hammond Collection ever since I got back into collecting 3.75 because of Star Wars Rogue One. Target online still cant let me order Blue ever since I ordered Giga on the 2nd
I got mine online and it was perfect, except the box outside was dented and the box inside was also dented
I got mine for $95 a day after release on the bay. Perfect condition as far as all of these things that I can see, but im leaving it in the box. Still, no issues that I can see.

I have had NO problems ever for any of them (except for Broken Jaw Baryonyx)
This isn’t exactly video related, but I’ve noticed the new danger pack dimorphodon looks a little different than the past dimorphodons, it has curled feet, and the wings are a bit more bent 🤔
I'm pretty sure it's the same sculpt from the recent Chaos Theory Ben Escape Pack! I have a review up for that set and if you check out the Dimorphodon in that set, it's a brand new sculpt and it's larger than the older Dimorphodon!

I passed on this guy because I'm trying to stick to collecting original trilogy stuff, but have been really regretting it because this is such a beautiful figure. This video helps me accept my decision.... so thanks again, Andy!
First I got the Hammond collection blue, it’s an amazing figure I can say that but the bottom jaw is bigger than the top and it’s making me lose my mind
Second, I’m buying this Gigsntosaurus today😁
Buying in store is the same sometimes, when I got my giga since the mouth is opened and it hiding the top part a piece of my giga broke off I guess during shipping or when it was being made and also my giga also has a really huge gap in his mouth that’s a give away from the front but back the side view hopes this helps for some people buying in store
I just got back at Target in SH 6 Houston and I didn’t see the Giganotosaurus, maybe it was both the summer heat or maybe it had QC issues like you mentioned. The only option which I think best is just waiting for it being stocked at stores and Amazon.
0:57 This has happened to me once, and only once before, but on a smaller scale on a Ceratosaurus with two right ankles
Yea my gallimimus has 2 left arms. I recommend you contact mattel customer service if it ever happens again. They're usually really good with that 🦖

my baryonyx is braking :) john hammond* and btw i think that they are doing something wrong cuz pull the arm of giga up and then turn it and lower it.
For the collectors that mattel send them first looks at them. ( mattel that follows them on social media) should contact them and let them know about the issues with the hammond collection giga with others that bought them
well hopefully by the time there available in Canada the issues will be worked out... this also reminds me of the blue that collect jurassic got with the wrong lower jaw, and some dimetrodons missing an eye, something fishy is going on with this years HC figures.
If i was apart of quality control for Hammond collection giga, id check everything, so no one gets a wrong giga, sadly im not apart of it
Thanks for the heads up went to look for 1 at target they had none but I'll be sure to triple check before buying. But 1 thing I knotised when I did go and reason I got 2 Denis nedry classic sets is the raptor in the window has 2 diffrent markings theirs a spot that has 1 patch of red on its right side neck while some don't and multiple are like that so clearly as a collector got to get both idk why it's like that nor idk wich is right the no extra patch or the one with the extra bit of red is confused me but atleast I got both now.

@andysdinosaurreviews No problem happy to help it suprised me as well my sister said to only get 1 but as a fellow collector ya know about variants lol but ya it's on the right side of the neck on the window side so atleast you don't have to buy bacicly blind boxes to check lol ironic this happened the moment they added that window to the box I wonder if any of the other figures were like thies and how rare this paint variant is and wich variant is the potential rare one the one with the extra red or the not extra red cause I looked at pictures and saw the No red variant the art doesn't show it and the website pictures don't show it it's veary wieard indeed.
Now I feel lucky that I haven’t found one yet, and maybe this is why the ones haven’t arrived in my area yet, now with this information I will not be purchasing one online
Also the issue of getting the same leg on both sides which someone had happened.
The only flaw with my giga is that one side of the jaw when I open the mouth it gets dislocated then I have to click it right back

Just received mine and it had one completely yellow eye and 1 regular eye wth.
Just got mine today and the calf joints are already failing. The figure is too heavy to stand on its own. Such a shame.

Mattel qc and distribution is just horrible/. We have a Smyths toys here and i have not seen any new Legacy sets at all apart from the Mamenchisaurus. I am still after the Raptor Containment, Isla Sorna Truck and the quad bike with Omar Sy's character.
I bought mine at Target and it had no problems 😅
Mine had yellow paint smeared on the eye. Very unhappy. Seems like other ppl have had the same issue though.
Lucked out on my online order but loose weight bearing joints are a problem I've noticed with this and the Rexie. This had a looser left ankle but it's holding her up. Rexie was worse but ultimately I got her standing in a pose and it's held since I got her. Should be tighter or maybe ratcheted.

I mean the giga has only been out for 4 days and it is already having issues we were informed about this figure since late April and erley may wich was for me enough timemfor mattel fo funally rifine this giga but if people are having this issue i am not gonna order online I think I'm going to look for it in physical target stores.
All I can say is, wow, this is pretty insane. I got mine and knock on wood. There were no issues so far.

He gigas foot snapped off when i moved it so i sent it back and got a new one and the joints on that one is stiff
Everything with my giga is ok but the only problem i have with it is the legs, his leg joints are very lose and its not allowing me to stand him well so my only option i have hopefully is to use one of those kiki fix lose joints bottles which i dont have one
Just like Tamashii SHMA Monsterverse line. They are good, but you really have to pray on whoever God you believe or trust your luck if you don't on what Items you get. Others are lucky, some got minor issues, some are just downright messy.
Mine has some really tight joints mostly on the right side, it had excess plastic in a few areas, and just feels wrong like I'm lucky that it has no major flaws listed, but it just doesn't feel as good as my rex which is a dream to pose, the giga feels more clunky and heavy just something feels wrong, i just got mine today so im gonna sleep on it in case it's just all in my head
I understand defects happen but come on how does this even happen to this scale from what we can tell.
Mine had one of the glass eyes painted over. One of the forearms doesn't seem to be bending properly, i'm afraid of breaking it by forcing it to bend.
Toy makers don’t care like they use to as most toy makes are owned by banks or insurance companies

I have a missing eye on my giga which actually sucks so now I gotta wait until it goes into stores This is the first time I’ve had a problem with him and collection. The streak ends sad
At this point, I'll just wait for Nanmu to release their articulated figures
