    •About ARK: Scorched Earth Ascended:
    Stranded dehydrated & starving in a vast desert, even the most seasoned ARK survivors must quickly find water, hunt for food, harvest, craft items, and build shelter to have any chance for survival. Use skills honed on ARK's faraway Island to kill, tame, breed, and ride the fantastical new creatures that have evolved to survive the Desert's ultra harsh conditions, including... DRAGONS! Travel back and forth between the Island and the Desert to team up with hundreds of players across both worlds or play locally!
    EXPLORE A NEW WORLD
    Scorched Earth takes ARK players to an entirely new land, composed of six unique, desert themed biomes - dunes, high desert, mountains, canyons, badlands and oasis - each with their own aesthetic and ecosystem. Littered with ruins, geysers, and intricate ancient cave systems, survivors will find a whole new frontier to explore and master.
    TAME NEW CREATURES
    The biomes of Scorched Earth are filled with dangerous new creatures, and the intrepid survivor will find that many of them can be tamed. Among others, lead a caravan of the camel-like Morellatops, or rain fire down upon your enemies from the back of an elemental Wyvern. Just mind your step, or you might attract a Death Worm!
    CRAFT OVER 50 NEW ITEMS
    Using what resources they can scrounge together, survivors can craft distinct new outfits and structures to beat the heat, and new tools to help them survive in this desolate environment. Players can use whips, boomerangs, flamethrowers, chainsaws, and much more to defend themselves, or such things as tents, wells, wind turbines, and oil refineries to provide their bases with resources. When used creatively, these tools can open up whole new strategies for survival, self defense or epic tribal warfare.
    CONQUER NEW CHALLENGES
    Prepare yourself for dangerous electrical storms, blinding sand storms, befuddling heat stroke, and unleash the power of the mysterious Obelisks to come face-to-face with the ARK’s deadliest boss creature to date - the ferocious Manticore! Does it protect a powerful weapon, a precious relic, or the mysteries of the ARK itself? Only survivors who posses the courage to confront this fearsome beast will learn the truth

    Tamed a 145 on 3x today, couple of tips:
    Take plenty of grenades/C4 n be prepared to do a few rides just to get closer to nodes.
    I flew along the back side of the desert n marked on my map all the salt nodes before I started, they give more torpor than rocks.
    Its a long process how ever you do it thou 🤣🤦

      I also tamed a 145 a couple days after the map launched, I think our server is on 5x taming but it still took probly an hr and a half to knock out. Mapping the salt nodes in the desert is a good idea. I tamed mine next to the wyvern trench. There are a bunch of oasis salt deposits in the dunes. As you saw bones also work pretty good but avoid skulls and ribcages they can dismount you. Also if you put wells on the water veins you won’t get dismounted he’ll just bounce off it. They are pretty cool tames. Fast underground and the quicksand attack does a bunch of damage. They also harvest flint from any hard resource and the tail flick attack can scare off some predators even rexs

      @@BemoGuinness Sorry for the late response Beno. If you start by the southern red drop in the desert. Youll see the salt fields. If you start heading northeast in the desert. Youll find more fields. Between the fields youll find bone fields. Which will help ypu keep control to hit the next field. I hope this helps if you try to tame one again🙂

  • @justinhyatt1114
    @justinhyatt1114 Před 2 měsíci +1

    So I did a little research on my own, but haven't been able to test due to being at work.. from what I can see. Bones and Salt piles are going to give you the most torpor. Metal nodes will give you a decent bit more than regular rock and regular rock gives you the smallest amount. So if you try again keep that in mind

    • @BemoGuinness
      @BemoGuinness  Před 2 měsíci

      The bones don't always work and will kick you off as happened in the video. The problem with the salts is they are very far apart and usually have the little water wells with them which dismount you or buildings which do the same. Don't think I will try taming them again anytime soon as it was a huge waste of an hour and half with the current mechanics

    • @justinhyatt1114
      @justinhyatt1114 Před 2 měsíci

      @BemoGuinness I totally agree. The don't have enough certainty in how the mechanics work for them. I agree with what you said in the video. Get rid of the go wild mechanic and just give you control. Hit the wrong thing or not in enough time then dismount

    It’s not too bad once you get it down. It took 15 min to knock out a 145 once I had the salt nodes in the dunes memorized and there’s enough bones and random rocks to keep taming him in one go without getting kicked off. The first time was def the worst learning where to go. Quick tip if you have a rhyniogathia you can pick it up and take where you want

  • @FriedEgg101
    @FriedEgg101 Před 2 měsíci

    I haven't watched the whole video yet, so maybe you discover this, but I saw in someone else's video that salt nodes give the most torpor, and the lower the control bar, the more control you have with the mouse, and also they hardly lose torpor when you get kicked off, if at all. It looks like a massive pain in the butt though, a la andrewsarchus.

    • @BemoGuinness
      @BemoGuinness  Před 2 měsíci

      So the way ASA works is you buy ARK: Survival Ascended and all the maps are free as they release. They are not separate like ASE was. Now for them to make extra money since the DLC's are free they have the Frontier DLC pack for $30USD which includes bonus stuff for SE, Aberration & Extinction so pretty much $10USD per map but paid all at once up front

  • @7chrisma
    @7chrisma Před 2 měsíci

    metal ore gives the most torpor, but not always easy to find in the desert, best bet is salt, only run into rocks to reset the green bar to full, just go from one oasis to another. avoid anything solid, cliffs, construction etc

  • @SeakJenkins
    @SeakJenkins Před 2 měsíci

    So, from what I've seen, using salt piles works much better than rocks. Like you said, marking the little salt patches and oasis in the middle of the dessert would work, while having a flyer tailing you all the time, so that if you're dismounted you can de-aggro easily and mount it again. That way it "shouldn't" be so painful, in theory, at least. Still, I do think taming these things might be one of the most annoying taming mechanics in all of ARK so far xD
