- Powerskids were started by Gup in his Powercruise events and have fast become one of the most popular events for both spectators and entrants. It's certainly one of the more spectacular driving events to watch.
It is also the ultimate display of horsepower. Anyone can rattle off numbers, however powerskids require cars to have big horsepower and to be setup right.
We have selected the best Powerskids from the events below(all we attended that had a powerskid comp) :

Of all the sporting events I've seen, this is by far the most interesting and best to watch. I don't think any football game or baseball or whatever is better than blazing tires all day. In the end, its not a competition of speed, but finesse and craftsmanship!
i like the entry the xr6 at 1:50 did, was good to see a semi rolling start. a static start seems pointless when you have more power :P

@cw147 yup for the most part they are, a chevelle and mustang in the mix, but you're 100% right most are aussie built cars

What they do is that they dunked the tires into a very strong dye (industrial for example) and let it soak for a time. That way the tires can display the smoke color from the dye they're soaked.
The thing is we have been building our cars to actually hook up and run fast and not just blow the tires off. But thanks to videos like this some of us are getting inspired to build burn out cars and try this out because it looks fun as hell. Look how fast we picked up drifting after finding out about it from the Japanese. Side note Holden is owned by General Motors of the United States using our LS series motors. So given that you can forgive us for dumping the junk Fords on you guys too.

at 1:12, that supercharger is the size of the motor in my car haha
you start by spinning the wheels then its throttle control to keep the wheels spinning most people don't use brakes

@scooterforlife37 I have the second part. EVILXA (Historical Plates). Looks like a front end conversion was done on an El Camino, otherwise I don't know.

do you have any footage from supernats at eastern creek, there was a a black ta22 celica with a 383 clevo with 500hp, its won top peformed SM and i cant find anything on supernats 2011

seems to me like everyone just holds it flatout. couldnt you find your results on a dyno, find where the engine produces the most torque and maintain the rpm? could that work better?
not to mention the fact that the vast majority of the cars I just seen that video where American or had American Motors

im actually american and i have a Fwd 2001 pontiac grand prix gtp. Supercharged and 50 shots of NOS . i can do a pretty damn long skid with both tires burning.. the longest one ive done was around 1100 feet atleast on 215/70/16 but on 260/50/19s. i can do Atleast 500 feet
(car is just to have fun and go fast but ment for track after detuned and nos bottles tooken out)
