I too was hoping for a “ fully” illustrated deck.
I will say the symbols are nice but an illustrated picture on all the cards would have been fantastic

The major arcana were so cool that I was crushed by the 10 of wands and onward. Ugh. What a drag! The John Constantine Devil card was so good!

Honestly I very much hate this deck. Beautiful artwork, I don’t mind the flimsy card stock, and some of the minors have thought process behind them. There’s over a thousand characters in the dc universe that they could have used instead of making a pip deck. After that beautifully make horror tarot deck insight editions made my hopes went up but with this they went back down I’m not even sure if I wanna buy the Buffy the vampire slayer deck anymore.

Yeah, I already canceled my Buffy preorder. While I love the artist, I’m not going to buy a low effort pip deck. That comes back to Gilly and the publisher, not the artist.
As someone who has been reading DC comics for the past 15 years, the characters used for the major arcana and court cards are pretty damn spot on and accurate. If I could make changes, id probably make the Green Lantern the Chariot, and Shazam Strength, but otherwise pretty spot on correspondences. But yeah, Marseilles styled deck combined with DC characters is an insta buy for me. I think the pre-determined, fixed images found in rider-Waite/GD styled decks are too limiting and I very much value the more interpretative, less limiting/less deterministic images of Marseilles style minor arcana suit me much more. Huh. Pleasantly surprised by this. Full illustration is better, but there IS a level of thought in the pips. The courts and majors also show a lot of thought, LOVE Swamp Thing as the World!

Thank you so much for doing a flipthrough of this deck. I saw it and considered it, but not sure if this is a deck I need, but I loved being able to see it.
I'm definitely a DC girl, and loved seeing all the cards and the different characters they used in the deck. I will say I'm very disappointed that there's only a very sidelong glance at the other character on the Strength card, as Gar (shape shifting green boy) is one of my favorite characters from Teen Titans. Vic's best friend, so that's why he's there in the card for him, but not enough to mention friends and family on that one, I think.
I'm not a heavy tarot user, so it took me a while to understand the "problems" inherent in "pip" decks, and some of these insight decks are definitely worse than others, but I think the more of them I see, the better they get when it comes to the suit cards. I'm loving my Stranger Things deck, but I hear people calling that a pip deck all the time, while I just don't think it is. And while this one's definitely number-centric, I do see more differences on each card than just the item showing the amount. I'd be curious to hear what someone who knows Tarot AND DC well thinks of this deck, really.

This is my 1st viewing of one of your videos as I wanted to see before I bought this deck.
My main concern is the Major as opposed to the Minor as I am collecting for the art.
ah ... I thought about buying this deck until you showed me the part that this is not a full illustration deck (I prefer Raider Waite style than Marseilles style 🫢) ... anyway, very beautiful deck and thank you so much for unboxing , reviewing & flip throughing !! you are awesome as always !!
For anyone who loves DC, there is another Tarot deck called the Justice League Tarot. It is a little difficult for beginners to read but the characters they chose were thought out (they match their card perfectly) and its not a pip deck. It's a shame they didn't do that here, because there are so many characters to chose from and the artwork is stunning.
I want it but unfortunately that deck is out of print.

Dang it! I was so hoping for illustrated minors in this deck, but given the publisher, I shouldn't be surprised its another pip deck :(
I was sad the minor arcana where not fully illustrated and that Jason Blood was not in it.

If you ever have the chance, do review the Diablo Sanctuary Tarot. It’s not like any other ‘pop-culture’ decks that we are getting lately, I assure you. Just want to hear your thoughts on it! I don’t want to give any spoilers though hahahaya

Good review of the deck. it is too bad that it is a pip deck. Have to pass on this and other Insight Edtion decks. I got burned with Nightmare Before Christmas and have wanted to get so a few others representing a merge of properties I love. but I don't feel like its worth it for just majors. :( Insight knows that people who use the decks for actual tarot use want the minors illustrated. I talked with someone at Insight at Comic Con a couple years ago and they said they knew that. but it's not wasn't in the plan to change. As long as people buy them, they will keep producting them. At least the artwok on the majors and court cards are really good. Let's hope they change. thanks for the video. I always check just in case Insight desides to improve the product.
There was another DC tarot deck back in 2015 named "Justice League Tarot" and that one was waaaaay better with the minors being cleverly illustrated (sadly it was a limited release). I don't mind pip decks but a themed deck coming from something like DC comics could've been more creative looking.
extremely confused why they'd choose Aquaman to represent the Emperor card... Fire element 🤔makes complete sense!
Pass. Lazy cash grab. I initially preordered the Buffy deck, but I’ve already canceled because the artist has posted some additional cards. It’s another pip deck. Nope, sorry, you have to work harder for my money. I’m bummed because the art he showed on the majors was really fun. It can’t be all about the licensing, I think it’s more about the publisher and the author looking for a certain profit margin, so corners are cut. Look at the GOT deck by Chronicle for a nice fandom deck. The minors are just as unique as the majors, and thought was put into choosing images for every card.

nooooooooooo... :( why they did that with minor arcana and numbers. I was expecting that they will have more action and they will be following the same pattern as major arcana... so disappointing... :(
I'm a little disappointed. I'm not a fan of PIP decks so off the bat I was turned off when I found out this deck is one. Same disappointment for the Hocus Pocus deck. The artwork is gorgeous, the guidebook is great, & the cardstock/storage box are well-made but I really expected more variety for the individual card meanings in the artwork, especially for brand-name themed decks. Wish they would come out with "remastered" decks to at least have the 2 types of decks most tarot readers seek when picking a deck

Its the brand of comics/characters. Like how Marvel owns the characters of Ironman and Hulk, DC owns Wonder Woman and Batman etc. ❤️
Thank God I watched your flip through, I'm soooo disappointed. I loved the fool, magician, empress, justice, moon, sun, tower and the judgement card so much though. Then it massively flops after that. There are so many scenes to choose from smh.
Thanks you spared me spending money on this. "Fully illustrated" - not IMO. Very disappointing.
