I was born and raised in Northern Virginia and I finally left for good 16 years ago. It had turned into an expensive, crowded mess. Constant traffic jams and suburban sprawl. I am so glad I left that place.
I know what you mean, I left northern virginia years ago. The place I remember is gone except the my memories. I lived in the Lincolnia area and if you wanted to go shopping we had to go to downtown alexandria where we lived was considered the country 5 miles west of downtown alexandria.
I have no idea who ye are, stumbled on your wonderful music vids. I happen to be from Mclean and greatly appreciated this video. Very well done. You capture the spirit of the land they buried, and the sadness of.change like this.
Excellent job, thank you for posting. I understand very well how you feel. My grandfather ran a dairy farm a mile or so from Oakton circa 1940-1950. My wife and I drove through Tyson's Corner today and I remarked that its skyline is beginning to rival Richmond's.
Well, if I remember when I first drove past after relocating from Western Maryland, wasn't a sort of like a house that was a restaurant in the field just about there and she drove along I guess that was 123 right?

My aunt and uncle lived on the peach orchard there with the Old Log Cabin
Epic!! 👍
I like it much better "then." I grew up in Fairfax in the mid-70s and things were even then much better than now.
WOW
Was the now demolished Providence Baptist Church building near the farm?
Progress makes me sad. The peaceful scenery is gone for good. Now we see concrete and asphalt everywhere.
Hope the Baker's got paid big $$ for that valuable land

Evans Farm Inn was on Rt 123 close by. The farm is now a high-end housing development with the original house preserved.
Scott Stewart wonderful wonderful... My memories always been very good but it has been quite a tiime/eons ago, hey what
Unfortunately, that land is contaminated unable to grow anything anymore.
