The devs who worked on Galaxy confirmed the connection in some anniversary book but said it was a scrapped idea. Also it was confirmed in an interview with Yoshiaki Koizumi. Despite the devs saying it was scrapped, that was years ago so this idea might have been brought back.
And don’t forget our main man MatPat covered this theory years ago with tons of evidence that may have been debunked years ago, but Nintendo might just retcon MatPat’s evidence as in-universe hints used in a reveal in some future game.
In late 2022 I encountered some info that wasn't actually leaked to public, that described Peach with a blue dress and a star character without naming her as Peach, so I gathered it was a Rosalina game in development.
In conjunction of that info it seems that Vanpool, that was considering a Kirby-style Donkey Kong game inspired by Dillon's rolling Western, was amicably dissolved into the Mario Kart dev team. Not "team" really but more like a league, it's not actually "a team" at nintendo but members move around various teams. AlphaDream staff are also there and I believed they worked on Wonder by the appearance of that game. I also believed it was gonna be out with Sonic Superstars on mobile, so eh.
Some group among that labor pool is now working at Namco Studio 2 and Studio S, specifically for the purpose of easing into the "company secrets" that could be leaked through Namco. It's sort of like an airlock with lesser clearance that are trusted to know more about what's going on at Nintendo, and apparently will be working in the new Kyoto HQ building.
Other details in this connection suggested a trading card game for Holiday 2023 to release ahead of Switch 2, not specifically because NO mention of Switch 2 still exist but it would have not required Switch 2, yet be compatible with hardware for years to come. Description of this card game make it sound like a follow-up to Smash and heavily feature an angelic character, either Kid IIcarus or possibly Baten Kaitos for suggestion of assistance by Monolith Soft. I gather it would be both, sorta, like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 crossing over to Xenogears.
Anyway, that's how I'm narrativizing it. My point is that this info was COMBINED, not that it's trustworthy. I don't post on Twitter and I don't delete mistakes for the Nostradamus effect, this just is what it is and I find it curious.

Jokes aside... I do genuinely think that this is just a coincidence, _maybe_ inspired by Rosalina in some way, but nothing more. Princess Peach Showtime was made by a completely different development team from normal Mario games. I highly doubt it matters to the "lore" unless Nintendo decides "hey actually we should make that canon" later on.
(Also... The theory was that Rosalina was _Luigi_ and Peach's daughter from an alternate timeline, not Mario).

The hypothesis itself is pretty flimsy and even relies on non canon events, and real life science that doesn't fit in the high fantasy setting of the Gameverse. Rosalina's magic is also definitely not the Power of Sparkle, but it is the same as Peach power. Her magic is star or wish magic, but a power that seems to be held by all Princesses, and there since they are young as evidence by Baby Rosalina wielding it.

Remember when the koopalings used to be considered bowser’s children? Nintendo later retconned that in favor of them being simply his minions. They could do the opposite with peach and Rosalina, making them related.
It was only mentioned in the manual and due to the timeline issues it created they scrapped the idea. I highly doubt they would bring back that scrapped concept. It also seems unnecessary to make the Princesses related when there is countless other Kingdoms she could be from.
But that's how turtles are. They're all orphaned onto a beach, there wouldn't be a distinction between children and adopted heirs.
It's mario and Luigi who are brought by storks, the messy way to have kids.
Not that Koopas ARE turtles, because they specifically CAN'T detach shells like hermit crabs. Unless of course, some stygian manipulaton takes place, that would require deformed Kamek's Toadies to abandon their lives as lizards, Birdos and Spikes, and shy away from the public eye permanently. Because the magic to ATTACH their magical shells permanently didn't go too well, and have them be close enough to Bowser to pass as ROYAL bees, uh, I mean Koopas.

@@sboinkthelegday3892 Koopas are delivered by stork alongside all the other Babies as evidenced in Yoshi's Island ds. In addition Koopa shells are not part of their bodies and are more like clothing. They constantly take their shells off or get knocked out. We see this in Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Paper Mario 64, Super Mario 64, Super Mario 3D World , etc. Bowser removes his shell to get different abilities in games. Strike Equipment sells shells for things like Karting, Party, and Strikers events. Some shells can be ordered custom made. Some are worn are helmets by Ant Troopers and Goombas. Some are worn by Mario in games like NSMBDS and Bowser's Inside Story. Yoshi's wear shells which are not present in Baby Yoshis. Junior Troopa doesn't have a shell. There is also not royal jelly thing, and is never implied in canon. Bowser is just another species of koopas. There are various species of Koopas such as the Common Koopa, Bros, Spinys, Buzzy Beetles, Troopeas, Spiny Tops, Lakitus, Magikoopas, etc. Bowser is part of a species I've dubbed the Boss Creeper species. This species includes Dry Bowser, that Blue Bodies Bowser of unknown origin, and the Koopalings.

It’s Rosalina who looks similar to Peach. Go find out yourself when you remove that hair bang covering her eye, it would show that she uses Peach’s face with sad expression. Peach merely wore light blue dress to resemble Stella; yet Rosalina is suddenly tied to the topic when she has nothing to do with Peach Showtime, that because she is a carbon copy of Peach but in blue.

In the french version of Mario Galaxy, the father of Rosalina is mentioned to have a mustache he's proud of. A line like that can't mean nothing. It means Rosalina's father has to be tied to Mario or Luigi in some way, if it's not directly one of the two.

And hey I trust the french version to be accurate to the japanese one more than the english version, since the french version didn't remove Vivian's transidentity unlike the english version did in Paper Mario TTYD.

I had a feeling Stella was inspired by Rosalina
sparkle peach also makes me think of daisys charged shot in mario strikers charged, where she uses crystals to punch the ball. maybe the princesses all have sparkle versions of themselves that gives them these powers.
I think this kind of ties a bit into what they are setting up in The Mario Movie. Peach kinda took a side step when Mario suggested she was from Earth. So I think with that plus what they did with the ending of Showtime, the princesses might be more connected to this. That they are from this same world, where Peach and Rosalina have a connection, and that they have this cosmic power that they opened the door for them to have. Plus we might get to see what this world might be at some point. Maybe in a game or in the movies, but either way, it’s smelling like Peach and the princesses might get a bigger role in the future.

I understand what your saying, but just because both are Blonde and have Blue eyes doesn’t mean they’re related, that’s like saying Wario and Waluigi are Related/Brothers just because they have similar features. But it was never confirmed that both have the same mother, and it’s crazy how MatPat thought Peach was Rosalina’s Mother. Anyways it’s possible that it might not be retconned because that’ll just make some of the Lore confusing.

I don't get why some people think it would need some back to time stuff to work, when it's the opposite. Rosalina stated she has saw the universe ends (we don't know how many times) a thing that happens On game. To make Peach now resemble more the images of her mother, I think its never to intend She is her biological mother, but she was in long extinct time-line

Frozen is based on the lead actress' previous role in Wicked that was a huge stage release in Japan, and Elfaba is specifically turned green in that novel to both hide and highlight the fact of her being illegitimate child to the most respected man in the kingdom, the Wizard. THE NAME of the Nintendo movie that revealed SMB3.
And if there's any question about the impact of wicked, both Harry potter and Naruto are based on it. It's more influential than Zorro is through Batman. Or Ninjas are to the succeess of Batman, considering USA didn't ahve enough cultural legacy to invent a concept like that without Spanish and Japanese influence, going so far as to not even HAVE Cowboys AT ALL. That archetype is from translation of Japanese and Italian movies like Magnificent Seven based on The Seven Samurai. Never in history were Guns at Noon a cowboy thing, it was just samurai iaido battles.
Through Seven Samurai Kurosawa also influenced Studio Ghibli and movies like Princess Mononoke and The Flight of Dragons, which is basically the unofficial pregual to Twilight Princess the same way CONSTANT ripoff sequels are documented by Phelan Porteous.

I would love it if they were sisters and that would be extra interesting because they would also have a brother. Peach could have gone missing as a toddler/baby and Rosalina was a kid when she left. While their brother could still be on their home planet.
Peach was taken to her parents in the Mushroom Kingdom by stork in the Gameverse. Rosalina is more than likely from another Kingdom in the Mario world, there are countless even over lands in the Mushroom Kingdom.

The Movieverse has too many differences from the gameverse. Such as Mario and Luigi being from real world Brooklyn, while the Gameverse has them being from the Mushroom Kingdom later moving to Big Ape City which would take on the name New Donk City. Donkey Kong the Third is the son of Donkey Kong Junior and his grandfather is Cranky Kong in the Gameverse. Donkey Kong is from the Kong Archipelago from the Gameverse and not the Jungle Kingdom. Etc etc etc.

She has had her powers since she was young as evident by Baby Rosalina wielding this magic, which was before she met the Lumas. However, it is connected to the Lumas, well some of the Lumas and only the older ones. The Star Spirits with the star magic that is wielded by basically all the Princesses, but also the Tribe of the Ancients, the Mushroom Genie, etc.
Nintendo has hinted at Peach and Rosalina's connection ever since galaxy. There are many different similarities between the too.
But in this video it felt more like a theory that was definitely correct but half the evidence was a stretch, coincidence, or just wrong.
I've heard that some people think Peach is Rosalina's Mom, but in my opinion, I don't think she is because Rosalina is hundreds of years old while Peach is only like 18 or so years old. And if Rosalina isn't hundreds then she's at least 100. I know this to be true because Rosalina visits her home planet once every hundred years as mentioned in Mario Galaxy. But they might still be related in some way, I just don't think Peach is Rosalina's Mom.
Peach is at least 24. The Mario Bros. are 26 and Bowser is at least 28, yeah commercials for a product don't count as canon.

Spawn Lumas? She doesn't make baby stars she takes care of them like the those in Starborn Valley. Also, I think it's highly unlikely they will bring up that scrapped concept. Her magic is not radiant energy, it's star magic just like Peach, Daisy, Mushroom Jeanie, and the tribe of the Ancients use. Also, the examinations are giving FNAF hypothesis vibes when Mario is usually more straightforward with look and connections being pretty obvious. We know where Princess Peach comes from in the Gameverse, she is from the Mushroom Kingdom. She is also not the only human in the Mushroom Kingdom, let alone the planet. You have Mario and Luigi who are Native sons of the Mushroom Kingdom who we see grow up in the Mushroom Kingdom in the Yoshi's Island games and Partner's in time. You have Professor E Gadd, Wario, Waluigi, the Kings from SMB3, etc. Outside of the Kingdom you have the citizens of the Metro Kingdom, the people of Diamond City, and Princess Daisy from Sarassaland.

You know, that ACTUALLY sounds like a VERY INTERESTING theory about the possible familial connection between Princess Peach and Rosalina, and as far-fetched as it sounds, I really do think that Rosalina IS somehow related to Peach. The only problem with this theory is that Nintendo themselves are TOO SHY on even touching on origin stories for characters, its just like: COME ON Nintendo, why not do some origin stories games that reveals more details about those characters like Rosalina, because that WOULD mean SOMETHING and it would definitely change the way we once thought about our favorite Mario characters. So again, Nintendo SERIOUSLY NEEDS to consider making origin story games. 👍

I would be more inclined to believe that they were sisters rather than mother and daughter with Mario as the father.
Two things:
1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is not canon. It's a retelling of the events of the 1st game told by Rosalina.
2. Matpat made a couple of video talking about the relationship between Peach and Rosalina.

Remember what happens in Mario Galaxy? THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE IS RESET!!!!! and Roselina herself confirmed that it has happened several times. So it is quite possible that Roselina is in fact Princess Peach and Mario's daughter.

Without watching the video all the way. My explanation for this is that I think they chose a look similar to Rosalina as a symbol. It symbolizes the power Peach has and what she has become. She has become like Rosalina she has that same level of power that Rosalina has. In my opinion , she looks like Rosalina because it symbolizes what she has become with this transformation. It's all just symbolism to symbolize the power level Peach has achieved and the being she is most like now.

If Nintendo wanted us to think that, they would have given Rosalina's mother a pink dress instead. What the characters wear in canon actually holds a lot of merit.
