CORRECTION: Looking at the data that other CZcamsrs have shown, Thunder Junk sold LESS than Karlov Manor. Also, a quick glance across the community and tournaments, you can see that Karlov manor cards have made a BIG impact across all formats! Also, is this becoming a Sorcer-sponsored channel?

The best part about all the Secret Lairs over the last few years is that it's let me know that I can safely ignore them completely. I no longer have to worry about missing out because I wouldn't touch most Secret Lairs with a 10 foot pole.

Nesting Grounds isn't a new card, but it's a new card for Modern. It was only printed in a commander product before this. That's why it got a bit more time.

Nesting Grounds has been around for awhile, it's great to move lore counters off of sagas that you want to retrigger over and over.
Secret Lair has definitely gone towards the funky and the bizarre.

This is the first time I disagree with you on secret lair drama. I actually find the instagram one absolutely hilarious. I hate social media and I feel like it is mocking and marking a parody on it. It is meant to be cringe and I think they nailed it.
That secret lair should be called: Goblins - Grindr Edition.
Deb Thomas is one of the many Heroes of the Realm cards that are given out to people at the company and designed with them.
9:55 Listen, the entire concept behind that card is just hilarious for a Secret Lair. The concept of just being a meme every so often with the Secret Lair's is fun and what they should be doing. It's way more fun and tongue in cheek than whoever's atrocious idea it was for that "April Fools, let's literally bully our fans" Lair.

The Deb walker has so much flavor, employee creature is red (anger or beat down) and the minus ability is referencing employees as equivalent to dogs...best walker card ever lol not to mention employees giving her loyalty.

I'll confess that I wasn't aware of Funko's hardship, but I'm certainly not surprised. While I am certainly just one person, with a rather narrow field of interests, I can still look at Funkopops, when I go to stores, and see whole waves/IPs of them, and wonder "Who thought THIS needed representation as Funkos?" Sure, I own a heap of them; some MtG, numerous animes, and several video games stand among my assorted collection, but then there are hundreds of them that I can't not see just me buying, but anyone. It's funny the Wizards reference because I remember when this was WotC's problem, back in the heyday of 3e, when they were cranking out dozens of short, dubiously necessary splat books, and flooding store shelves with them. They were like each time MtG kicked out a new cycle, in a set; this book referenced something for casters, so then they HAD to make a book for martials, or for two classes, so then five others that each referenced two other classes, and most of them didn't sell, but then there wasn't room for the next "real" D&D book, and with WotC declaring war on people making pdf copies illegally, and circulating them on torrent sites, it was obvious that they were hemorrhaging money. That's Funkos, too me. My Walmart has one or yeo whe little endcaps just plugged with clearance Pops no one wants, and I just wonder why they ever paid someone for said IP, and then cranked out the molds, time, packaging, and transport for them, and for the lady at the top of Wizards to think THAT is a better place to go...Funky Pops don't even do anything, and there's proof that it probably wouldn't matter if they did, as Amiibo aren't hyper-popular, either, though that's Nintendo's fault, with their artificial US scarcity, and the other "buy figs, Svan them with a reader, and use them in this game" lines aren't exactly quaking the heavens, either, but I can't see how this move was positive for her, apart from it was already sinking, so not her fault, while going down with MtG, after the stellar heights it had touched, would look bad.
It's Dogs and Employees because they are both that degree of loyalty, which is a Planeswalker mechanic. Probably not, but I tried.😊

I can't believe they shifted Nesting Grounds down to Uncommon. No, I take it back. I stocked up on them, so I can believe it.
As for CW quiting WotC for Funko. Keep in mind both companies are HQ'd in the Seattle area. So if Hasbro corporate decided to save money by forcing WotC to move to their HQ somewhere back east, she as the CEO would hear about it long before it went public. So maybe her fleeing WotC for Funko is tied to not wanting to move her family. Just a guess

Though this is also not my cup of tea of a secret lair, I have to objectively appreciate that they choose these goblins of all thegroups to choose from. This shows that this is the secret lair with a lot of effort and thought. For those that like it, they get quality here.

Deb Thomas is such a weird card. If I didn't know better, I'd think it's a card that was meant to go with Unfinity. That set had a lot of "employee" creatures in it.
I also hate that goblin set. It also just as bad as lair that awful comic sans April fool's set. They're both heinously ugly.
I think the SL is a success *because* of how cringe and unsettling it is. It feels like some sort of narsassistic friend group from a mid 2010s indy movie. Its perfect. If it wasnt so cringe and off putting id be disappointed. It would be on sight if someone played this against me
