Thanks for these videos Professor Dave. I am a first year nursing student and these are helping me study for my midterm in a couple of days. I have been struggling a lot with anatomy and physiology but these videos seem to be helping me much more than my long lectures and hundreds of slides. Thanks and hopefully they help me raise my grades !

I went through some of the comments and couldn't find a mention to this, so I'll make it mine. You're showing the right side of the brain. Broca's and Wernicke's areas were identified on the left side. I am not saying there aren't analogous regions on either side, just referring to the inaccuracy of calling out these areas on the right hemisphere, when they were identified in the left one. Otherwise, a nice lecture on the subject.

Hi Professor Dave! First, a big thank you for making all these amazing, elucidative videos that help me learn. But- please correct me if I'm wrong!- for the diagram where you showed different colored areas of the brain, I feel it's better that it is flipped horizontally to show the left hemisphere- Broca's and Wernike's areas reside there, rather than on the right hemisphere?

Correct my understanding if wrong: the size of your eyes, nose, tongue, lips and hands is directly proportional to the number of neurons controlling them? Your lips are larger than Kylie's because more number of neurons are controlling yours than Kylie's are?

I noticed that you say 'the left-brain right-brain personality type is a complete myth'
It's actually not. For example, the extent to which your language processing is lateralized to either hemisphere is known to correlate to higher prevalence of ADHD, dyslexia and personality disorders. And there's plenty more examples to illustrate that left-brain/right-brain dominance is related to behaviours that can be considered to be party of our personality.
