2jz is impossible to remake without big modifications cuz emissions. Also manufacturing facilities for I6 turbo engines would probably be expensive AF and not worth it

No chance the 2JZ would pass emission standards today.
The BMW straight 6 is the best option Toyota could have opted for.
There's no better straight 6 in the world (speaking of modern engines which are tunable to 1000+hp)
And some Mk5 Supras already pushing 1000+hp.
Auto-trans? Well, atleast it can handle some power better than a dual clutch transmission, so that's not that bad.
Just sad that no manual tranny is offered.

I have a 3800 V6 and it only makes 400whp check out my dyno. But its amazing how much power these cars are making. Great video💯

It's been a life goal of mine since I was about 16 years old(thanks F&F) to eventually own a MK4. Haven't gotten around to it yet but every year I'm on the look out for them. Soon enough it'll happen and I'll pull the trigger on a TT 6-speed with a clean history and less than 100K miles in the Northeast tri-state area. I wasn't well enough financially to have bought one a few years back when they weren't selling for $60,000+ sadly lol. Nothing beats that single turbo 2JZ sound.

That 70 to 197 pull was filmed on the Gandy bridge in Tampa Florida. It’s a well known street racing bridge due to no shoulder for police to sit and it’s long length.
I’m from St. Pete and live in California. There’s nice cars out here but no one pushes the limits like people did on Gandy or across the Causeway
