I don't care about watching the spicy scenes but your videos about what you do behind the scenes to help make those scenes are so much more interesting.

Wooww!! I never thought this job was needed, or even KNEW that something like this existed!! But now that you are educating us and opening my eyes, I can TOTALLY see why it would be so beneficial!!! As a woman (who also studied the arts if theatre) I can totally see why it would be so comforting for a female actress to come to someone separate, who OOZES more compassion and sensitivity!! And is there PURELY for the purpose of support and a compassionate open ear!! After all, the director has a HUGE job as it is, and a lot of technical work! So maybe with the sexy scenes it's just too rough of a person for such of a delicate job??!
i doubt it, sex has been a pretty tabo topic for a long time, and consent has been deemed more important lately then in the past. in contrast people have always been willing to watch each other do dangerous stunts and beat each other up.
@@gordshordekinda random but I learned from the internet that if anything bad happens with movie stunts failing due to obvious lack of structural safety causing actors to get maned, the internet will just say “oh this film is cursed/haunted”.
I can totally see how this would make a director potentially uncomfortable. I would just be afraid of there being another step between me and talking to the actors. Like if im directing and I have to ask people to do something incredibly vulnerable and potentially challenging I want to be the one to tell them that and be able to answer questions and adjust to accomadate their needs. Also i could see it feeling almost like your infantalizing the actors a bit by essentailly asking someone else if they are comfortable or not. I get why intimacy coordinators exist, and I think you qould do a great job at navigating that scenario. But i think its important to realize that a director being unsure about working with you is not just them trying to run away from oversight as some people in the comments have claimned(thiugh this is Hollywood, so theres a decent chance that is whats happening)

Probably because the directors and producers, and all the others on set also have boundaries, and if there was actual sex on the set, it would have to be labeled as porn. There's also probably a lot of other legal stuff in terms of what actors and actresses can and can't do, depending on the type of film they're taking part in.
I think it will also be more complicated and difficult to do. During sex scene, it's not about the activity itself but other things like the expression, emotion and depending on the plot, there might be other storylines going on during the scene. I assume it will be more difficult, and time consuming to have two shots with the porn star doing the sex scene and the actors doing the acting/expression shot. They'll also need extra budgets too since they're hiring more people. And like the other comment mentioned, the crews might not be comfortable watching real sex scenes.

If there is a real need for Intimacy Coordinators on a movie set, keep in mind that it is for the equal benefit of both male and female actors.
