It’s like thank you that’s what we wanted to tell him too, just happy he does get that confirmation that what he’s doing is so working and has made him one of the top interviewing experiences with not only the environment being engaging in such a vulnerable and creative way but to also pull out questions that surprise people regularly with how in depth majority of his are

It’s all the preparation and compassion as a human he has for the show anf guests. Some may argue as well that there is no natural way of being good at doing a show or podcast. But IMO either you have it or not (obv he does). And once you know ur good u keep rolling on, getting better, and then ur a big hit. He has a talent, nac, whatever u wanna call it. But, my point is that I think his hard work as well as his Nac is what make’s the connection so pure and real.

I love that Josh Brolin is super excited and happy about Sean's questions, he's been doing these things for years so I feel like if he's complimenting Sean, he genuinely means it.
He’s a great human and is just respectful as heck like everyone should be. Plus being over prepared for interviews is always how it should be done.
I really like Josh Brolin, but you get the impression he's super tired of most interviews, and i can imagine why. Constantly getting the same bland questions, interview after interview.

My favourite of these is "The wings are shit, but his questions are great." That's the single most Gordon Ramsay complement I've ever heard
Sean truly is an artist at interviewing. You can tell he's genuinely interested in his guests and takes a lot of pride in doing solid research. I think that resonates very well with the guests and makes their chemistry fascinating to watch.
Ya isn't is funny that it's amazing when someone actually cares and works hard to make a good production? Compared to most of the crap interviews out there!! Love it.
@Soyel very true, definitely a group effort I'm sure. Except when I watch these I just like to have an 80s style montage playing in my head of Sean traveling around interviewing random teachers and local diner employees finding out everything he can. 🤣🤣🤣

Artists have such a normal melancholy when they do interviews. They expect the common tabloid question or the common social media question, but Sean throws them deep cuts that crack their interview armor and get them talking like they would around a family campfire. You can feel their appreciation to talk about something that isn’t their latest or last project. I feel a special shout out is deserving for Sean in how he interviews women on the show. He’s as genuine across the spectrum and not just asking about the clothing, make up or brands.
IT means we end up seeing hte person, and not just someone who recently did project X
Daniel Kaluuya hit it on the head. It's painfully obvious how much care and effort Sean and co. put into each episode.
Kaluuya is like me - I can give you eye contact or a sincere compliment, but not both at the same time.

This is really well put together. You don't just show the "shock" of them being surprised by Sean's good questions, you also let us hear the answers for the most part. I never felt like you cut away too quickly. Good job ^_^

These compilations are, personally, one of the most anticipated videos. Its such a positive feel good ride.
I love Sebastian at 5:13 “do I talk about all these things publicly? Why?” Pretty sure we all over share at times, but no one’s recording every word out of our mouths.

Only a handful of people would recognize Sean Evans being that good of an interviewer, because people are so invested, when watching interviews, in the celebrity and not the interviewer and furthermore, to think that celebrities being kind and thankful towards the interviewer was going to be so freaking watchable is ingenious. You, Jasper, deserve much more recognition than you have now.
I love seeing all of these celebrities being blown away by Sean's questions.
Not just blown away, but genuinely moved by the end. I can imagine being in their position can feel like being a product or a piece of meat a lot of the time... very dehumanizing. There's a reason Sean's deep questions strike such an amazing chord with them.
Sean's greatest attribute as an interviewer is that he respects his audience and his guests enough to ask nuanced and interesting questions rather than just asking them the same "what inspires you" or "tell me about where you came from" style of questions that only ever elicit canned responses.

I just love that the most commonly asked question from a guest is, "how do you know this?" Not only does it do its job in mildly off guarding the guest but it speaks volumes to the hours of research the production staff must experience Case by case. Long time viewer first time commenter: amazed by the production value of this show.
9:15 man, look at how Sean's face lits up when Colin says "nice question". You can tell how much effort he puts into coming up with these questions to feel so rewarded when his guests acknowledge them
I love Sean. He's become a celebrity's celebrity it's amazing. Those that watch the show are genuinely excited to be on with him.
His questions and the deep dives humanize the celebs so well and their face lights up that he interested in more than just their celebrity. It is so compelling
Sean has this amazing way of connecting with his guests on a human level. To see the joy on their face when they get asked real questions instead of the already over asked questions from the last 10 interviews. He is the best in the game.

I imagine all these superstars just walking around in NY and bumping into Sean, greeting him with a huge bear hug. That’s what I would do anyway. Sean is a legend.
I love how people at first are very impressed with Sean's knowledge, then they become comforted by it and in the end they are kind of weirded out by it. Gets me every time
I really appreciate this was edited so that the guests finished their answers, rather than just being the sound bites of them being impressed.
Shawn would be an amazing host to a reboot or whatever of Inside The Actor's Studio. Not only is his production crew amazing, but the way in which he gives long, layered questions is quite remarkable!

Honestly more impressed that Sean and his team can still come up with extremely interesting questions after so many seasons.
I think he definitely prides himself on asking questions no one has asked before, and I feel like actors/celebrities get used to answering the same ones over and over and he makes them really think I love that
And the joy/ happiness he gets when people are passionate and excited to talk about something they don’t to talk about much like he giving them the time to express their thoughts and feelings about things they enjoy
This is probably the only interview show id ever watch, solely for the fact that the questions are so well put together and the quality of said questions make even the guests passionate to answer them

It would be pretty amazing. Short of hiring an investigator, you could do this yourself with some meditation and mostly self-reflection.
Watching this made me realize why I love Hot Ones and Sean’s style of interviewing. It’s because it gives me pause and reminds me that I should be curios about the people I encounter and remember to be thoughtful when learning about others.
If I had an ounce of Sean's ability to connect with people and gain a bit of chemistry with them, I will be eternally grateful. Sure, hard work, practice and preparation all come into play, but the way he executes his interviews are just... sublime.

I recently found this youtube show and a big part of what hooked or captivated me to it, was Sean himself and his passion in every question, and his ability to connect with every single guest.
So happy to see our boy Sean and crew appreciated. He does ask some great questions with great delivery which is way more interesting than all other interviews.

My favourite part of Hot Ones is watching the struggle to maintaining any train of thought while your face is on fire. Especially when it is a really thoughtfull, well researched question.
Seeing a celebrity eyes light up with genuine interest and surprise and then seeing them speak like a giddy school kid - Sean Evans shows their interior children which makes them so human
I think the best moments in all of these interviews is how happy the guests are when Sean asks a question that they are clearly very excited to answer.
I like how Sean is asking all these good questions..and the celebrities are almost dying from the spicy wings lol.
One of the best aspects are the background laughs from the crew, makes it feel more like a hangout than an interview really

So great. Such a weird concept for a talk show, but it’s brilliant. Not only great research and questions, but it distracts guests into a different place; rather than a standard talk show.
And the guests love that Sean cares enough to research this extensively for a show about eating spicy wings. They're so used to the same 5 or 6 questions about the same facets of their life that an obscure question about them or their lives/passions genuinely thrills them.
Sean is becoming the bar for celebrity interviews.
I love these things, thank you for putting them together. Sean really has become the best interviewer around, bar none. Not just the interesting questions, but how he reacts to their answers.. always puts the guest at ease and makes them comfortable. See how he turned Bill Burr, who was very skeptical at first. He's bound to get a job at one of the big networks someday, if he wants it.
The thing I love most about this show isn't the great questions it's the fact aside from a handful of guest(cough... khalad..cough) everyone has such a good energy no drama just love and most celebs are willing to use word of mouth to other celebs to keep this train moving I love it

I think it's really nice that Sean always try to give a chance to his guests to talk about things they are passionate about without concerning too much whether people care about it or not. So he never try to annoyed his guests with some stupid questions or cheap questions about stupid gossip stuff. He just let the wings do the torture.
