Shouting at the TV😂 I have never thought of it like that. That’s pretty much the best metaphor for social media I have heard.
I've got a Mojo v.1 and can assure everyone that it's built quality is top notch! Yes, it does look somewhat whimsical and not everyone will like it, but to me it's a perfect hifi man jewelry/toy:) - every time I hold it in my hand I feel like a child playing with his favourite toy:) And I won't even get into its sound quality... Chord PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR DESIGN LANGUAGE - it's truly unique and we need more of this type of creative approach in HIFI!
Trying the Mojo in person sold me on it years ago and it’s been my daily driver ever since, despite trying many others along the way. Completely agree, the build quality is fantastic.
Mojo invites you to touch it all the time. Love it!

John I’m one of your subscribers who watches mainly for entertainment. The style of your videos is spot on from my point of view. I learn a lot, but it’s your knowledge and your entertaining style which is so valuable.
Nice to hear these thoughts John. Regarding the USB input, as much I get Chord want to keep things compatible; they have plenty of brilliant engineers. Surely an adapter could have been made and sold for 15 or 20 pounds?
Your latest reviews about the Mojo 2 helped me to take the decision of purchasing one. I bought it during the Black Friday for only € 479 euros including shipping + the leather case. At this price, and even I'd say up to 1K, this DAC has an outstanding performance and has no direct competitor that offers portability + desktop dac with this quality of sound. It's really impressive. I agree the micro-usb is outdated, but not a big issue for me, since I connect it mainly thru usb-c. The main issue I found about it is to remember the colours, menus, etc. I have the manual opened in the background since otherwise is really difficult to understand what are you doing. In overall, a great purchase! Thanks John for your reviews or comments.
mojo 2 is fantastic dac. Very solid build, feels special, warm. ❤
Thank you, Darko. Great video again. All the best to you 🙂
John, this is probably the most deep and at the same time entertaining audio/hifi youtube channel. I truly enjoy every time you explain your perspective on every single statement. Really love it ;-) Greetings from Madrid.
THANKS JOHN, I “ DIG THAT “ 🤗 and appreciate the context…of your efforts to advance the community and also remain positive +😎👍💚💚💚
Just got one. Built like a little tank and 1st class sonics. Just a truly lovely product.
it's still micro usb powered, they could have added 4.4 balanced output the very least. hope you enjoy i hope mojo 3 will finally add the missing features.
I've been happily using the first Mojo as my primary desktop headphone DAC/amp after first hearing about it on your youtube channel a couple of years ago. These days, I mostly use it with a pair of Beyerdynamic T5p closed headphones I think it sounds really good. I don't buy audio products because of their looks, but I was delighted to discover that the Mojo looks much better "in person" than in photos. It is a strangely hard to photograph product. When you see it online it tend to look like a brick of black play doh with some pastel marbles stuck to it, so I can understand people questioning its build quality. I keep mine in a small metal soap cup screwed to my desk and it looks pretty cool. And it takes up no room at all on my cluttered desk. I don't use it as a mobile device, and I have probably run down its battery life quite a bit by keeping it connected to a power source at all times, but that's ok. I was really happy to hear there is now a Mojo 2 that fixes that issue though, and I'll definitely look into getting one when it's time for me to upgrade my admittedly very modest system.
Thanks for all your fine work on this great channel!
Always, a pleasure to listen to your perspective on all things audio, and music, and your comment section. I am entertained by them and wiser by them too. I have discovered so much music, audio equipment, and more importantly why I like what I like and being to express it.
Thanks for all the great work you do John! Love your videos and approach to Music and gear reviews. Steve (New Zealand).
Hi John, I really appreciate the time you take to make the videos. I have to admit that when I saw a Chord product it was hard to see the cost equal to what you would get. I bought a Chord Qutest in the Spring 2022, and I have to saw it felt incredibly solid. When I played the first track I thought, wow this is doing something I haven't heard before. I used it for about 8 months and sold it only because I wanted a all in one solution and got a RME ADI 2 Pro FSR. I had a setup up with the Qutest and Schiit Asgard and Lokius for headphone/monitor(iLoud MTM) listening. I still find myself missing the Chord sound and may go with a Mojo 2 since I could bring it out and use it mobile. Thanks again for the great videos. Take care.
Totally agree with what you are saying here. Love my mojo2 both on the go , and into my home headphone listening using my bottlehead amp to drive ZMF veritys. Liked it so much I have just bought a Chord Qutest to run in my speakers hifi system. Also a nice little dac.
Kudos John! Presentations like this take a lot of cognitive and emotional energy out of the creator and demonstrate your commitment to keeping these conversations meaningful. Spicy take to add to the conversation. Significant deviations from the norm should always be a matter of; does it improve cost, performance, user usability, experience, and inclusiveness, which in the case of the Chord's hardware interface, it does not. It is just a misguided attempt at differentiation at the expense of the visually impaired, colorblind, disabled, technically nascent, and those whose cognitive demands of their lives don't have room for the needlessly complex. Chord deserves all the praise for their accomplishments on sonics, but their interface is pure hubris and should not be addressed as a matter of taste, as too many reviewers often do.
I got into low end audiophile equipment because of your highly informative videos. I now own a schitt stack: magni, modi, and loki, and I love it.
Thank you John, keep up the great work!
Thanks Much!
Well done, John. Thanks.
Well put Darco u put a big grin on my face. Keep ‘em coming.
John I admire your communication skills excellent and concise well done.
Love the video!
Yes John I just watched the video lots of people will complain about the Mojo 2 but it is also about what headphones cables and music you use with the Mojo 2 keep your videos coming and Happy New Year
I just bought the mojo 2.
Happy new year!
Thanks John. I am all in.
Couldn't agree more that this DAC is superb sounding and has no competition regarding versatility. Currently using as a desktop dac / pre, with one output feeding the power amp, the other feeding the sub...works beautifully. A very versatile product indeed, with wonderful sonics. Thanks for the review John, super happy having bought one off the back of your work.
Thank you for your videos. Been a long time follower from South Africa and all i know today is started with you 4 years ago. Another similar device i use is the Fiio BTA30 Pro and does a awesome job between my tv,Apple TV,bluetooth receiving and sending. I have a soundbar for multi channel (using eArc)and a 4.2 channel AV receiver for my stereo content. For my portable solution i use the Fiio BTR5 2021. Thank you so much for making me addicted to the awesome hobby🙏🙏
Nicely vented, communicated. Nice work John!
As always, valuable infotainment from you, John. I can only appreciate your efforts on building a good community. This video put things in perspective for me. I have been guilty of “ego-b….” before and will strive for better.
Love your humor 😂 Great work. i am a big fan and user of the mojo and poly.
Excellent response video, John. Love your channel... (I almost never read comments for the reasons highlighted). All the very best from Japan, (ex-Scotland).
I love these conversation/comment videos thanks John. I haven’t heard the Mojo’s and would be good for me to compare them to my Bluesound Node 2 and 2i which I really enjoy - mainly because of their connectivity, wireless and MQA support.
Based on your original video, which I as thoroughly professional as it can be, I purchased it and love it! I have also put it as amplifier for my external computer speakers and the gain in substantial! Thank you!
John, honest brave words on the bitter taste of success. I follow a few hifi reviewers but your videos, unlike those of others, I hardly ever skip. I appreciate what I feel often is blunt honesty. Thank you.
One of the features I find I really enjoy on the Mojo2 that I haven’t seen a lot of comments on is the crossfeed mode. This is one of the few implementations that isn’t a distraction to the listening process.
Love you spin on all thing music. Best, D.
Love the “talking to a mix of audiophiles and Sonos/Apple people”! Lmao! Good and cheeky way to sum up different audience clusters!
John-- Thank you, thank you, thank you. I admire your restraint. I've been a Mojo owner since 2016. A Poly owner since 2017. I bought a Mojo 2 during a trip to the UK this past Spring. These are simply first-class devices with performance well above their price points. For those who question the build quality of the Mojo and the Poly, the simple fact is obvious, they've not held either in their hands and so they are opining out of ignorance in the sense you take pains to clarify. That is true. But, the fact that they believe their opinions merit posting a comment, is ignorant in the pejorative sense. That too is true.
Keep up your excellent work John.
Anyone who says the Mojo 2 looks cheap has never held one. It feels really solid, really solid! and is much heavier than I expected.
I own one,held/hold one, and it still looks like my son's toys. If not for the magic it does, i will not buy it based on the looks. 😂
I use my Mojo 1 as DAC in my HiFi system. I opened the casing and disconnected the battery, and now power it by a Shanti Linear power supply, which actually made an audible significant improvement. Works like a charm, sounds very, very good. Of course I am curious of how big an improvement the Mojo 2 would yield.....
As usual John, great video. If I didn't know better, I'd swear we shared the same dad. Ha!
A patient, considerate response video. I remember when you bailed on having a comments section and I was pleased to see its return. Now you’ve seemed to try a new take with these coming-back-around response or second-take videos which are gracious. I take a little issue with defining your work as info-tainment. It’s really so much more than that. It is entertaining to be sure and you make it look so easy (the surest sign that it’s not), but I think of it as more akin to having a great friend who is an expert at something. You’d like them anyway because they are cool but happen to be lucky enough that they know a lot about something you do not. I trust you so much that I return to the Roon videos every few months to try and figure out why I’m not into it. That’s influence, not just entertainment. I was happy and surprised to see you do another Mojo 2 video. It’s always in the back of my mind…like the Roon I know I’m going to eventually pull the trigger and find that I really did need this all along.
Love what you do, that is all
Got mine and love it. It's done more for my audio equipment IEMs and headphones than anything I've bought for a long time.
It's brought IEMs like my Hexa out of the closet and movee my senneheisers from very good to wow.
And, the design and engineering quality is too notch.
The lights are to make it quite a personal feeling device.
Good insights and nice review of comments. I think your section on 'ignorance' also ties back nicely to your last video with your opening question about why people won't read the description box or check the links for more info. I think they go hand in hand in a way. People think it is easier to blast out the question for someone to answer for them than it is to expand the video description and research for themselves. It's a weird situation but seems common these days.
Jon, this video is outstanding. It is a perfect lesson in internet communication. It shows the main issue about communities and commenting: Too much ignorance mixed too little context while not being ready to learn and understand.
I never read any comments at all and here we are, having the whole video explaining why I do that. Nicely done, sir!
I like the response and the attitude John, you just got my subcription.
Hey John. We do like your umphf and doffdoff. Great work lad.
Infotainment for sure :). I watch more often for the music recommendations than for the gear reviews, though I enjoy both.
Thanks for the video. I went and got the mojo 2 this Friday and I am more than pleased. I like the super resolving spacious sound.
It really has brought my sound to next level. The DAC is feeding into a topping a90 which is connected to Focal Twin Bes.
I am definitely one content listener… at least for now 😂😂😂
Love your videos John. Your channel is an audiophile channel by nature and old subscribers knows what’s going on… I own Mojo1 and Poly, still thinking about whether to upgrade or not. But after seeing these harsh comments and knowing that Chord decides to keep the Poly alive by giving providing a micro-USB on mojo2 …. Makes me want to actually get Mojo2 for myself just as a Xmas present…. I would also say that the build quality is awesome for those who has no hands on experience with Chord products.
Love the content John, keep up the great work 🤘 currently looking for good balanced DAC to pair with my new Rotel power amp and Polk R700’s. I’m running an SMSL DO200 currently, but it isn’t as musical as I would like. Feels like it takes some of the warmth from the amp and speakers.
Listening to this on B&W M1s directly from the headphone output of MOJO 2 (Via regen with linear power supply and curious cables of course). Yes it really is a great device for a little desktop setup (as was MOJO 1). CZcams and Spotify sound great. Have to agree with Somerset!
John, I don't know if I am going to buy any Mojo 2 but I want to tell you that watching your videos has been so enriching, appealing, entertaining that I am now able to better understand and enjoy the world of (Hi-Fi) music thanks to you. Probably mainly because you are doing it just qualitatively, sincerely, pertinently. I want to thank you for this. Don't let you bother by some comments, focus on they way you handle this channel and remember that the silent majority of your audience just loves and enjoys what you do. Greetings from Brussels and take care.
Many thanks John! Really comprenhensive and interesting video about facts, opinions, and beliefs on the Mojo 2 that can be easily extended to any or all high end products. In Spain we laugh and make jokes about the "brother-in-law effect": non-educated, ignorant opinions about unknown "almost everything", it is so easy and cheap. By the way, somehow inclined by your videos, I have been enjoying a Mojo 2 for about 8 months now, it's quite impressive, especially when compared with the TT2/M-Scaller combo at +10X price. I'm so convinced that a new Poly is on the way! Regards
Very enlightening video as usual. I had been concerned myself about the Mojo quality as it did look quite small and cheap from the viewpoint of my laptop. But, as the Mojo was getting rave reviews from many reviewers (and I trust Darko's opinions), I knew there must be more to it than what I thought I saw. I'm glad you explained the construction of it though. To be fair to the less hostile comments on its quality, it did look like it was a cheap small plastic box.
To be fair to those usb micro commentaries; they could have been preemptively nullified with the Poly observation in the original video.
I feel similarly about the comments on build quality.
I personally haven't been in a room with a Mojo, and based purely on videos and images I would have also made similar assumptions about it's solidity if I believed the case to be plastic.
Especially with a product like this, I think reviewers need to highlight build quality and materials as part of the review, not assuming the viewers will intuit it.
A lesson on assumptions all around.
Great video, John. Maybe I'll get a Mojo 2 after all..................👍
You're right, jhon😍
The micro USB comments were not ignorant at all, now seeing that the EU has mandated the USB-C charging port on all mobile devices, even Apple has to comply, doesn’t Chord also has to comply too, otherwise, no more sales into the EU.
That wasn't enforced untill 2022 and manufacturers have two years after that to comply.
Thank you John. I’m happy to second that the design and construction on mine are really top notch. The only thing that bothers me very slightly is the rattle of the spheres that serve as buttons and lenses. It’s a minor gripe about a really excellent product though.
🤣🤣 I actually moved in a flat that has wooden walls, floor and roof in the living room area. Sound quality is so good compared too hard surfaces. Im using the Fiio BTA30 Pro as a middleman between my soundbar and AV 4.2 channel system. Unfortunately my choices are limited in South Africa. I also use the Fiio BTR 5 2021 for MQA as a wired and wireless portable solution. Im happy with both devices. Thank you for another great video.
Loved the video especially toward minutes of 18 😊
I have both the original Mojo and Mojo 2. I also have a few other DACS but the Mojo has been my go-to and favourite DAC in my collection. Sound, staging accuracy and build quality. Mojo and now Mojo2 connected to Poly are a great combination for my needs although not for everyone.
Can you describe the sound difference between the two? I just own the Mojo v1.
Hahahaha! Reminds me of my own Dad in the 1970s. It was Bowie and Mick Ronson doing Starman on TOTP. When David put his arm around Mick my Dad practically had a cardiac arrest. I can't tell you here what he shouted, but I'll never forget it. 😂
This is called different strokes for different folks. I personally love Chord products. From 2qute to Qutest and Anni. I love their form factor especially and of course their FPGA dacs. Chord Mojo2 is absolutely brilliant dac/amp no question. Thank you for your great review!
I have an original mojo. I guess those that complain about the build quality have never touched one.
I used to have the Mojo with the Poly, because it was really convenient having a device for headphones and my hi-fi system. The sound quality really was exceptional. Very clear and exciting. At first i was a bit skeptical towards the design of the mojo, but you really start to appreciate the build quality and also the looks of the mojo. How heavy and small it was. The buttons and the overall looks really grew on me over time. You have to experience the mojo, but you also have to be open minded. In my opinion the Chord products in general look „interesting“ to say the least. But all in all i loved it.
Love this. Videos like this help the community because tending to the garden of opinions sorts through the weeds and creates no a clear picture of your take. I think
My only gripe is I do appreciate the more nerdy technical stuff, like the explanation of how the shelf eq works. I think my mojo 1 sounds very different depending on the sample rate it’s sees. Possibly due to the predetermined filter Chord chose per each sample rate, however something like that greatly effects my enjoyment of the device. Especially since many iOS player apps can’t let you alter the sample rate.
Anyway, I think people who come to this channel for lifestyle audio advice will stick through a little nerdy tech talk. Even if they just tune it out for a few seconds. Keep feeding them the polished “B” roll and you’ve got them in your pocket.
Man! I like you!
Im here because of review of AirPods and B&W PX headphones and you know what? I will definitely stay here longer, waiting for more new videos and reviews of sound stuff.
Im sure if I would like to buy some headphones, amps or other products I will check your opinion about it. Thanks for doing great content! Thumb up!
I think we had the same Dad, my context born in the UK, live in the US, Love my Naim - but now tend towards accessibility now, additional context did live in Berlin and am a big Blur fan in my 50's. Great direction you're energizing a jaded Brit.:)
Bravo, John. You picked your way through that minefield of commentary with aplomb. FWIW, I flirted with a Mojo last year and ended up buying a Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital instead. LOVED the sound/ design/ build quality of the Mojo but in the end went for something nearly as good (to these unsophisticated ears) that was cheaper and didn't require recharging. If I needed a mobile DAC though, it would've been a no-brainer.
To quote American radio "Long time listener, first time caller". Why am I responding? Primarily on the strength of your (OG) Mojo video. Yours was among several I watched and I purchased it and loved it. I'm stunned that people would comment on its value based on not listening to it or touching it? Its not using an off the shelf DAC chip etc and in its market its versatility is unmatched (I can't take my Qutest on a flight).
People are entitled to their opinions, its just sad when they're negative based on zero handling of the product (Its a plastic box! its way too expensive!).
Keep up the great work and I look forward to getting the Mojo 2. I understand its a bit better at switching between multiple sources vs the OG Mojo.
I appreciate this follow-through Mojo 2 video. I was one of the complainers of the Micro-USB ports in the original video's comments, though I was not singled out. :) I offered valid experience as to why I detest the existence of this failure-prone port as I also do not like ignorant throw-away comments. Anyway, thank you for showing how the Mojo 2 connects to the legacy Poly - it explains a lot. I'm sure this DAC sounds awesome, I just think in my usage where I'm often charging my portable DAC/amp during use, I know that Micro-USB port will be a disappointment for me, hence this otherwise fine product being omitted from my shopping list. Cheers!
I use a velcro for my fiio m11 dap with the fiio q3, I also have the ifi hip dac as a backup but the main issue with ifi hip dac is that the knob is very easy to adjust while it's in my pocket without much effort.
I have watched the videos by Rob Watts, the designer of the Chord DACs.
The amount of effort that went into them is mind blowing.
I am definitely buying a Mojo 2!
Keep up the good work. And like you said, pay no mind to the haters. Will probably upgrade to the MOJO2 at some point. But still loving my MOJO1 running coax from my Audiolab 6000CDT Cd transport. Sounds amazing still 🙂
One method of attaching a DAC to my phone I tend to like is with poster putty / blue tack. A firm push and a twist with enough force and it suddenly feels like it’s all one unit. I’ve felt that Velcro feels a little wobbly and dual lock Velcro solves this but is a bit thick and has sharp corners. I first figured this out when dash mounting my iPod.
I always love watching your videos because as a college kid I cannot afford most of these products but it allows access to the neat technology implementations of different companies as well as things like streaming quirks and music suggestions.
My Dad is a fan of The The and I just got the Mind Bomb CD release you’ve mentioned a couple times for him for Christmas.
I have the Mojo 2 for about 3 days now and I really like how it sound. It's very clean, no distortion and I hear no hiss.I really like that it has eq and crossover controls that I can fiddle any time plus, not many dac amp have them. It is also small for its many functions. it runs very warm though and I think the only thing I don't like about the unit.
It gets warm because it uses proper class a amplification, so it actually sounds better the warmer it gets. If it really bothers you you can get the leather case or a dragonfly cobalt 🤡
I tried this today and it's my IPhone and I was blown away at how good it is
Another thoughtful vid, love Chord, especially the Qutest which is great value, what impressed me most from the beginning is that they design their own chips instead of buying off the shelf and modifying the heck out of them as others do.They certainly have good ears. I’d like to see a comparison of the Mojo 2 with the Qutest. If they upgraded the Mojo can the Qutest be far behind?
For those dismissive of the retail price, it’s worth noting that you can snag a Mojo 2 on the used market for roughly $500. I’m speaking from experience 😉
Once the 3 comes out, then I'll hope to get a Mojo 2 for $300.
Right now the original is $200
Hello John. I have It and its amazing. I still have the project dac box and mojo 2 its way better in all the aspects. Possibly a little screen would be great or a 6.3 Jack socket, but the most important thing, the sound, is just great! Linear, not fatiguing, smooth and the bass line perfectly accurate.
Im so Happy to own It. Thanks a lot for so many reviews that you made and i appreciate.
Nicky handled on the price point question on the Mojo. People don't understand the costs and margin that is required to run a business that can bring these products to market. We could see what you wanted to say ...and you did.....very delicately. Bravo!
Solid defence there John, I felt exactly the same about most of the comments you highlighted here, it’s like these people didn’t actually watch or listen to the video. Great analogy with your Dad, I recognise that too…
@Darko Audio John, thank you for thsi comments videos, I like them a lot and the mean reason is that is a way to increase the information about a product or also to correct or arise missed or confused questions.
And just I think that some "ignorant" comments, are good to point topics that is convenient to clarify or giving more information. All is useful ;)
If can I combine the bass, speed and slam of the mojo 1 with the organic natural sound of the mojo 2, for me this will be an outstanding performer.
Responding to the "build quality" and "price" points (yet to hear your response John - had to pause the video and respond 🙂). The Mojo 2 feels quite hefty in hand and the finish is quite nice as well. Coming to price - I've owned (some sold, some remain with me) a number of $150-$250+ DACs from Topping, SMSL, iFi, Soncoz/Khadas, AudioQuest, Schiit, Cayin - the difference in sound is night and day. I hesitated before purchasing the Mojo 2 because of the price; I was contemplating spending on a power amp + speaker upgrade - I'm so, so glad I purchased the Mojo 2 instead - I saved a ton on those planned upgrades. Completely changed the sound of my set up. It is worth every penny.
Chord Mojo 2 is value for money on all aspect I would say!
Great infotainment even though I would never spend that much money on a portable DAC. Thanks John.
I'm eagerly awaiting your Buchardt a700 review... I've s sneaky feeling it's going to be your "product of the year". Saving the best for last eh? 😉
I got mojo 2 recenlty. Sounds great. But there is a big but: my unit leaks current into chassis when connected to the charger (tried few chargers and few cables and few different wall sockets). Charging battery to 100% seem to be taking way to long. For example I am keeping mojo 2 plugged in all day and most of the day battery indicator is flashing blue (it does it for hours) instead switching to magenta indicating desktop mode and fully charged battery. There is no official information how long it takes to charge mojo 2. I've checked all manuals for mojo 2, including Moon's manual, Chord's v1.1 and v1.2 manual. This is a basic information that people could reffer to so they can determine if long charging times are something normal and expected or this rather an indicator that the unit might be faulty.
I think I will be returning my unit because of all the above. I will then get replacement unit for comparison. I believe my criticism is fully justified here rather than out of ignorance. I did my research.
I didn’t bother commenting on the last video. I do have the mojo and poly, I basically got sick of faulty Micro USB B connectors on expensive cables and decided to rule out the connection by adding the poly.
A great combination, I mostly use glider to play files on the microSD card. I have had libraries on the sd card fail a few times, but fortunately they are backed up elsewhere.
I’d probably consider a Hugo2 rather than the mojo 2.
It would have been nice to have a quick Poly and mojo2 review, but understand why that was left out.
I was intrigued by an off the cuff comment I nearly missed. People have hooked their Mojo's up to speakers directly. I ordered a cable yesterday and tried it today. I have a pair of Monitor Audio radius 270 (87db). I really wasn't expecting it to work ... but it did. I am currently using a 20 year old Yamaha AV receiver, which is ok. Attaching the speakers directly to the Mojo 2 seemed to give superior clarity and separation, at fairly decent listening levels. I’m not quite sure what to make of this result, it feels wrong that a usb powered device can drive my speakers. I don’t think people should necessarily target this as a solution, and I also can’t speak to the demand I places on the Mojo 2 itself, but it does work, and there is some sonic improvement (for me and my amp).
I'd love the mojo 2 one day it's British designed and built got to be great quilty we used to be leaders of things I'm just starting this jearney and look forward to owning so high quality equipment one day
Hi John. Love your videos and agree with your comments about comments. One thing you pointed out in this video is that your channel has audiophiles and the Sonos/Apple people. I’d like to think these are not mutually exclusive and I think your feelings of the AirPods or some of the big over ear headphones proves that, each has their place. I have to balance my audiophile tendencies with the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). Most people have to balance ultimate performance with aesthetics etc. so everyone is happy. I’d love to see you talk more about these compromises. I bought a pair of JBL L100 Classics (based on your and other reviews) because they are a great sounding speaker but also fit with the mid century vibe of my house furnishings but also deliver for my wife’s love of classic rock and my love of electronic music. However I run them through an NAD amp connected to my whole home Sonos system for convenience. I’d love to see you do a video on how to achieve great sound with these compromises
Agreed on the WAF. I can’t help thinking that some of the people on this and other ‘audiophile’ channels are destined to live (and die) alone!
I think this is the first time I heard mic preamp hiss on your videos!!
I bought mojo 2 after watching you videos so I did with Roon LOL!... And I believe now after purchasing the mojo 2 that it is worth every penny. I am using it as my main DAC during main music listening session on my HiFi stereo system as well as a portable DAC using headphones during solo listening sessions. And it outshines everything I had before with its brilliant musical presentation almost analog kind of sound that I never thought will WOW me so much. Thanks for your reviews though I blown my wallet more than once but I don't regret it.
Also I would like to add that in a portable device like this the Shelf EQ the mojo 2 has is unique in the industry and for me at least it is valuable enough to buy this only for this feature alone.
I enjoy learning about cool products like this. Being in the US, I may never get to see one of these let alone hear one. Hard to fault a product if you haven’t seen or heard a piece of equipment.
PS, never knew this product was made of aluminum. I thought it was thermoplastic. Keep up the good work.
