I've always felt and truly believed your assessment. For sure Freddie, I think, absorbed portions of his entertainment style from this person, over the. top vocalising especially. In fact, is probably why he attended so many of his performances, ala Freddie's similar attention to Jimi Hendrix shows. Tears here but huge thanks.
We can't look behind anyone's forehead. We can only classify and guess actions and statements. In hindsight, I think it turned out who his real friends were, but he seems to have realized it too, as his will shows.

I heard that Freddie wasnt told about Joe or Jim that they decided to keep it from him. Jim did not die of AIDs he passed from lung cancer in 2010, however Joe passed months after Freddie.
