    You did a hell of a job explaining everything you were doing. Even went above and beyond explaining your mistakes MAN!
    I was searching for grand Cherokee shock replacement. This Jeep is TOTALLY different from the Cherokee

    Dodge Dart has the same strut design. Your video has a much better protocol than the Dart strut replacement vids on CZcams. Also thumbs up for letting us know the sizes and special tools needed.

    Great job! I did this a couple of weeks ago. A couple small things: that hole in the bearing cap is for your camber alignment and doesn’t have much to do with getting the clips back on. Also you can get the whole brake assembly off just by taking out the caliper bracket bolts, that way you don’t need to open it like a clamshell. That sure is a fancy spring compressor! Would have been handy.

    Hi Jason. Nice video. I would do a couple things differently like remove the splash shield and put the jack under the BJ stud ( with the nut at the end of it) when separating from the knuckle. I am presently doing this job on my MIL's 2016, left side. Could I trouble you for the torque value for the strut rod nut, the pinch bolt, the caliper bracket bolts and the hub nut? Make you video even more useful than it already is. Thank-You for posting.

    great video - what is the part number for the strut bearing that you replaced? where there any more single use bolts in this entire process? I need to replace my wheel bearing and the front struts and looking for all info i can.

      The caliper bracket bolts are single use bolts. He didn’t mention that in the video. They are torque to yield bolts and expand when tightened. That’s why you can’t reuse them.

    @4:56 you say "It's a 6 mm." On my Trailhawk it's definitely a 5 mm allen to fit the hole in the screw that holds the rotor to the wheel hub...

    Great video, thanks very much for being so thorough. My 2015 struts has sprung a leak too (front right) so this is a project I will be taking on. Great tips on the tools required as well, I like to be prepared. Where did you find all the torque specs?

  • @jeffersonvalleyperformance351

    Haha I diddnt think u would have to take the whole knuckle off till I just did one!!!

      You don't have to.

    The extended length of the strut itself determines how far the spring can expand , thus determining ride height. The replacement strut should have been the same length as the oe strut you removed. You shouldn't have had to compress the spring more to reassemble. How much lower is the front of your Jeep after the job was done ? 1 inch? 2 inches ???

      @jasoncarter4584  Před 3 lety

      OMG, please dont try this without compressing the spring! You will hurt yourself! Probably shouldn't try this at all.

    • @jasoncarter4584
      @jasoncarter4584  Před 3 lety

      Yes, especially if it sounds louder when you go over bumps while turning.
