Temperzone / Replacing Two Faulty UC8 PCB’s

This is the OPA 550 package unit from my last video. The UC8’s had bad burn marks and wasn’t supplying the correct control voltage for outdoor fan operation.

On the new UC8 needs to be reprogrammed to the type of compressor you have which will set the config on the board. Had one 6mths ago that came out of the factory with the wrong config and caused major problems and tech support was unaware of the new software until they did some digging. The problem I had they set it to wrong compressor and that meant wrong gas and caused the sensors to fault out. I originally replaced the sensor and still reading wrong. Reprogrammed the board and works a treat.

This is interesting. Was yours running R32? This is an older R410A system so when I ordered the UC8’s the only thing I needed to change in regards to the compressor was a two dip switch’s for fixed or digital.
