I think Colombia will give England all they can handle. People are forgetting they won their group and didn't really need a result from the game against Morocco. Against Jamaica they did what no other team did in this tournament and scored on them. England is obviously formidable but they will have to be ready to play end-to-end 90 minutes as Colombia's energy, pace, and physicality is no joke. If Caisedo gets 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 2 anywhere near the goal and Ramirez can break free on her wing early and often as she has been doing the whole tournament...watch out.

Thanks for the great in-depth analysis! I think this round overall will be the toughest to predict but I think it will be Japan, Spain, England and Australia. France is good but I think Australia will lift with their home crowd behind them.

Yes, DVD for the Dutch will be missed. She can emotionally destabilize opposition too. Ask Horan, though she scored that beautiful header. Similarly Aitana for Spain can be a critical player.
I'm feeling bold: Spain, Japan, Australia, Colombia to advance. I'd feel bad for France if they indeed lose, but their best ever result was 4th, I think, so they're kind of used to it.

I have Japan, Spain, France, and England.
I like Spain but remember this is not their A team due to some frictions in the system. Van de Donk will be a huge loss especially vs Spain. DVD plays box to box and is great at recovering procession. Very feisty, rambunctious really. They will miss her. Japan is better through the lineup but are smaller and Sweden is VERY physical. Still Japan. Aus v France. France is better through the lineup BUT the return of Kerr if she is at close to her form will give an emotional boost to a team on an emotional high already. Toss up! England will wake up and play better than they have. The loss of a player who has so little discipline will not hurt I think.

She got a very childish yellow card in a no danger position sometimes I don’t understand.
In fairness, a lot of nations do not have their "A Team", either as the result of frictions or injuries.

we are definitely not sleeping on Colombia, they are an excellent side, Caicedo is definately the player we have to keep an eye on, been very impressed with her.
England do need to be a lot more aggressive in possession, we cant afford to show the same performance against Nigeria cause we will get punished.

🤔🤔, I have absolutely no idea about the rest but England vs Colombia = Nigeria were all gun’s blazing being very physical none stop pressing but I can’t see Colombia being like that! African football is a different style of football! the lionesses will be looking to respond and drawing on experience as making it to a QF at a tournament for the 2nd time, Colombia > 1st timer's! with the experience of being at the business end + being European champion's = a win for the lionesses👈😁😁😁! + France / AUS = no side will be easy to face but to be the best you have to beat the best! sarina W tournament record is up there with the best in the world!
@jamiewhitney4724: I just hope we get a good referee for the game against Columbia......if they play the same way that they did against Germany they will be committing plenty of fouls (which they got away with in that game) so we don't want to pick-up any more injuries. If they (Columbia) play fairly, England should win.
