5 Sports Drinks to Recover Faster

    Each Recipe makes 500ml (2 cups):
    1) CITRUS REFRESHER
    Ingredients
    - ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
    - ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
    - 1.5 cups (375ml) Water, or more depending on how strong you want the flavour to be.
    - 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt
    - 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
    Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 287.5mg Sodium, 146mg Potassium
    Recommendation: After an intense exercise of one hour.
    2) WATERMELON ELECTROLYTE BOOSTER
    Ingredients
    - 1 cup Watermelon Cubes, deseeded
    - 1.5 cups (375ml) Coconut Water
    Nutritional Value: 18.82g Sugar, 380mg Sodium, 1170mg Potassium
    Recommendation: After an extremely intense prolong exercise of more than an hour.
    3) HERBAL COOLER
    Ingredients
    - 2 cups (500ml) Green or Herbal Tea, steeped & chilled
    *something citrus preferably
    - 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt
    - 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
    Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 290mg Sodium, 45mg Potassium
    Recommendation: After a moderately intense exercise below an hour.
    4) LEMON & GINGER COOLER
    Ingredients
    - ½ cup (125ml) Ginger Water
    - ¼ cup (62.5ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
    - 1.5 cups (375ml) Water
    - 1/8 tsp. Sea Salt (287.5mg Sodium)
    - 1 tbsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup, to taste
    Nutritional Value: 15g Sugar, 292.5mg Sodium, 83.3mg Potassium
    Recommendation: After a moderately intense exercise below an hour.
    5) 100% FRUIT QUENCHER
    Ingredients
    - 1 cup (250ml) 100% Natural Juice
    - 1 cup (250ml) Water
    - 1/8 Sea Salt
    Nutritional Value: 36Sugar, 297.5mg Sodium, 263mg Potassium
    Recommendation: After an intense exercise of 1 to 2 hours.
    COCONUT WATER Nutritional Value (1 cup):
    600mg Potassium - 252mg Sodium - 6.2g Sugar

    about a year and a half ago I weighted 80 kg and my height is 1.52 so I was pretty much overweight. Thanx to your exercise and motivational videos I lost 20 kg. Now I weigh 62 and I got at least another 10 to lose but 20 kg is a lot already and I am just so thankful to you! :) I changed all my clothes and hopefully will continue on doing so.

    Hello Joanna, I would like to mention that bicarbonate is not an electrolyte, the 6 electrolytes found in our bodies are: sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium. Have a great day!

    Hi I am an avid runner, thanks for the advice it was tough for two years as I had anemia but I have no regained my better composition. At the moment trying to break my record of 17km in one day

    Joanna you're so lucky, here in america we have to drive 1 to 2 hours to go to a farmers market to get fresh produce. If we buy healthy things in a grocery store it's extremely expensive and most people don't think its expensive, but for a family of four with a big appetite and low budget it's extremely hard. Coconut here would cost 3 to 2 dollars, this is why our country has high rate of obesity because "junk food" is cheaper. Thank you for everything, I still do your workouts and the drinks seem to be low budget :)

    This is amazing, thank you so much! My husband plays basketball games every week and I don't like him drinking the commercial sports drinks because of the preservatives and other nasty ingredients... so this is great now I can make homemade ones for him! Thanks!! ^.^

    When do you plan to make full length HIIT video / strength combined vid? I remember you once posted your full length vid were 30" kickboxing and 20" HI workout. The rest of your WO vids almost very short duration (to do more sets you just ask us to replay the vids ...., which is I personally prefer that you do full WO with us)

    Great overall video. I only came to find a green tea energy drink recipe, but got 4 more! The watermelon coconut water recipe was a surprise for me, and I like the sodium potassium ratio. I might try adding some cal/mag powder to that.

      I don't know if you would be interested in trying a whole foods plant based diet but they have been known to reverse diabetes. Watch Forks Over Knives to learn more. It's a documentary on Netflix. If you don't have Netflix, there's probably other ways to see it. You don't have to if you don't want to but if I had a disease and someone told me I could possibly cure it by changing my diet, I would look into it.
