The Sega Saturn Hardware Buyers Guide

- An episode about the various styles and makes of Sega Saturn hardware.
NOTES:
Many of these systems have pack in games. Virtua Fighter Remix appeared in many of them.
There are a few systems here that have different boxes and themes available. There are Xmas Nights and Sonic versions of the White Model 2 Saturn for instance.
I tried to focus on the main entries for each type of system, and avoid nuances like pack in games, pack in peripherals, or special boxes.
My launch grey Saturn shown in this video was bought day 1 when the system hit Japan. It cost me $700+ to get it next day.
Of all my Saturn's(I own 8), the model 2 has been the most unreliable. I have had 2 fail. One with a CD drive, one with the mainboard.
If you are just starting out with the Saturn, I recommend the grey Japanese system as your first purchase. They are cheap, reliable, and easy to find.
The Samsung and Navi Saturn's are the last of the products I truly want in my collection. Price and availability being a major obstacle.
I didn't mention it in the video, but the Western released Model 1 Saturn's came with a different controller than the launch Japanese units. This controller wasn't the worst, but the Japanese pad killed it overall.
The Derby Stallion Saturn actually didn't have the game with it. It was released along side the game, and included a special sticker set.
Music in this episode in order:
Gain Ground - Awaken
Ghouls N Ghost - Stage 1
Batman - Intro
Hang On GP - Albatross Cliff Reef
Castlevania Bloodlines - Bloody Tears
Contra Hard Corps - Hard Corp Blues
Thunder Force V - Legendary Wings
Shadow Dancer - Stage 2-1
TMNT Hyperstone Heist - New York

Sega Lord X I bought 3 SEGA Saturn’s recently and all of them didn’t work :/
the model 2 is unreliable? that explains why my US saturn model 2 won't read the discs anymore.
Do you know if there's a way to get a japanese console working on an australian pal crt?
I'd google it but I'm not keen on going down a 4hr rabbit hole.
SNES has the same problem with turning yellow

I've always wanted a Sega Saturn ever since I was a kid. And it blows my mind that the cartridge slot in the back didn't allow backwards compatibility with Sega Genesis games. What a missed opportunity.
In the early technical specs it does mention something about the cartridge port being used for games it was just never implemented. My guess is they planned on using it for backwards compatibility whilst the Saturn was intended to be a 2d machine and abandoned it when they had to rush to add another processor after they saw the PlayStation specs.
They could have used the same cartridge slot as the Mega Drive, allowing for backwards compatibility. the Sound CPU could be used as the main CPU in Mega Drive games, but i’m unsure how the sound would work.
As a RISC architecture, getting the Hitachi SH2 to handle code written for the CISC 68000 cpu of the Genesis would have been a difficult task on their tight schedule to get to market, especially considering those were early days for console emulators.
It was meant for it to play genesis/mega drive games too. But it was cut so it would be cheaper
I always wondered that. Man that sucks
I recently picked up a Japanese model 2 Saturn from my local retro shop and I’m so in love with the design 😍 I much prefer white mixed with bright colors as opposed to black and grey
Wow! I consider myself a big Sega fan, but I've never even heard half of the Saturn variants you showed. Shame on me. By far the best Saturn guide ever! thank you!
Grant H Lee try lairds lair for actual obscure Sega stuff ☺️☺️☺️
Never was a Sega fan and then I found your channel at the start of covid and now they're my favorite games company. I'm now a happy owner of a modded Genesis Mini, Dreamcast with a MODE, and my favorite of all, a white Sega Saturn. Just saving up for a Satiator so I can Play Panzer Dragoon Saga! :) and now having been on the out side for so long I realize that as bad as the decisions Sega made were, the entire industry was really doing all they could to ensure Sega failed and I am lost as to why. Why didn't EA reverse engineer the Nintendo first? Why did publications slam Sega all the time to make people like me think wrongly they were lousy? I don't understand, but they're the best. I just graduated College and even applied for a job at Sega so fingers crossed I get it! :) all this to say, thank you! All the happiness Sega has given me has been because I stumbled into your channel and your passion rubbed of onto me
You have me craving a Saturn more than ever
They are must have! Then get Assault Suit Leynos 2, Saturn Bomberman, Winter Heat and Virtual-On, for starters.
Crave these
Emulators are kinda bad, so you kind of have no choice.
definitely pick one up mate
One thing we can all agree on is the model 2 CONTROLLER is definitely better.
Hell yes - when I first played a Saturn when it launched here in England the Model 1 controller was actually slightly too big for my hands (I was a pre-teen)
Infinity2z3r0 I actually prefer the model 1 controller. I had the white model 2 Saturn for years and played with that controller and recently got the model 1 controller with my US model 1 I picked up on eBay. Going back and replaying the games I own I find the buttons to be more responsive and grip feels more comfortable. Also the buttons on the model 2 feel cheaper, they don't have the same resistance as the model 1.
I have to side with Zaku Guriin on this one. The model 1 is one of the most comfortable and unique controllers of all time. The model 2 isn't terrible but it feels and plays a bit like a generic third-party controller. I have the American versions of both.
Model 1 controller is better for shoot-em ups imo. Allows for more range of motion. Also the bigger build just feels better too.
I prefer model one pads
The price of a Saturn has gotten insane. I payed $30 for one with 2 controllers and 3 games at a local game store back in 08
A lot of consoles in general are typically $70-100 now days. They'll probably all go down at some point
I paid $39.99 for a boxed one on eBay in 2010.
Retro Video Games were at an all-time low from 2008-2012. Then, they slowly rose in price from 2013-2019. Retro games are just starting to decrease in price.
I think it's just normal inflation, I never noticed a real jolt upwards in price in the past 8 years or so I've been interested in the console.
@@WebVManReturns i miss those years when I could buy 10 gameboy games for less than $15 :(
Dude I adore you channel by far my favorite CZcams channel! The crazy thing is I don't own a single piece of Sega Hardware. But this video is getting me interested in purchasing my first Saturn. You did such an amazing job in your channel talking about how great the Saturn is I want try it for myself. Thank you so much for what you do and I look forward to all your upcoming content.
Love these guides , even though I own 14 Saturn’s O.o , never noticed a difference in quality in the later models will boot up outrun now to check now
I am looking to purchase a Saturn and your channel has been very helpful in learning what the Saturn has to offer. Thank you.
Nice. I'm glad the content helps. I'll be doing more on this subject in the future, too.
I'd hawk for a Derby Stallion or Skeleton Saturn, they are beauties!! I've even seen them in Retrogaming shops. My Derby Stallion is my favorite of the bunch.
Truly mind blowing versions of this system for the timeframe when it came out! Wild! Great video!
The Saturn is such a beautiful and solid machine. Much more reliable than the Dreamcast.
Why is that, what makes Dreamcast unreliable?
@@xamergt the power supply
I disagree. My Saturn psu has been giving me more problems than my dreamcast
Yea dude my Dreamcast is a rock.
I’ve noticed laser failure is at a higher rate on DC than Saturn. But that might be because their are more DC laying around on the used market to pick up. In my collection, my Saturn runs 100%. Dreamcast has trouble reading discs half the time, even after pot adjustments so it’s on its last legs.
Wow, Sega saturn was one of my first consoles, yet I had no idea there were so many kinds especially overseas. Thanks for the informative video. I learned so much from this.
I swapped all my Magic the Gathering cards with my bros for a Saturn and heaps of games, I have no idea what I did with it 😞
The Gunman damn that was a actually great trade
@@sammyramirez6869 he may have had thousands of cards and very rare ones though
Very informative video. The Saturn has fast become my favourite Sega console. I have a model 2 Japanese Saturn, and love it. I can confirm it's RGB looks incredible, especially on a PVM. Happy to see your subscriber number sky rocketing, keep up the quality content 😎
Awesome in depth vid on the Saturn consoles models. I always wanted a clear one. They were much less to purchase like 10 to 15 years ago.
Great comprehensive buyers guide, thanks!
Great overview! I had no idea there were that many variations
It's really quite amazing for a system with only 9.5 million units sold.
So cool! I have the most nostalgia for the NTSC region bios startup animation. The saturn has so many interesting variants, part of the reason it is my favorite console.
I didn't know Model 2 was less reliable, I always assumed it was the other way around, very informative video great job.
I've always wanted the stallion saturn.
It was less reliable for me. Your mileage may vary, of course.
I love my Stallion! I have probably thousands of hours of playtime on my OG Model 2 that I bought used at a pawn shop [ the only way I could have afforded one back then ] and it still runs like a champ. I have a NIB for a backup that I bought as they were being marked down, I think for $149.
Great video, as I have never seen a history of the various Japanese Saturns. My North American Sega Saturn (purchased in December 95) has miraculously come back to life. Initially, the only game I could get to work was Nights, but in messing around with it I got Shinobi Legions to work too. Things get tricky when you start playing with consoles that are over 20 years old.
Absolutely. I have a 3DO that didn't work, took it apart and looked at it, put it back together and it works fine now. Go figure.
Please keep doing Sega Saturn videos like this I love it!!
Also would You be interested in doing a video just like this one, but with the Dreamcast? Theres some really interesting things to talk about with the DC like the Divers 2000 CX-1 model!
The DC did have a pile of different systems. It's definitely a good idea.
Lets extend this to the Genesis & Master System as well please!
Matthew C. That would indeed be cool, however those systems have far less varients to cover and might have to be merged into one video. MD has a few revisions but no real special editions to speak of.
Fired up my Japanese Saturn for the first time today. Can't wait to start collecting for this thing!
Awesome video man, love the saturn info been collecting a few years ... keep it up
I just recently purchased 2 Saturns from Japan. I really love the look of that Model 1 HiSaturn. Maybe one day, I'll buy it.
I got a model 1 for christmas a long time ago from my father, played it a lot but then it just went into to storage and didn't work anymore. I started watching your videos and got really into the idea of having a Saturn again so when I was living with my ex girlfriend I went to a used game store and they had one for sale so I bought the model 2 they had and that's what I got connected up to my TV now. I'd really like to own one of the clear ones, those look really cool man.
Nice choice including that music track from Shadow Dancer. That's my favorite one in the game. I was reading the video description. Interesting the model 2 was less reliable for you. My model 1 US system, which I bought new, was always trouble. It went back to SoA twice for warranty repair. Then it worked for years, but no longer does. Funny how I ended up with an early PS1 that should have skipping problems but it never gave me trouble. My model 2 Saturn that I got used a few years back is acting up now with power-supply issues.
Yeah, it's always been the model 2 Saturn's for me. I even have a Model 2 V-Saturn that has a mainboard that has a fault I can't find. It won't boot up at all.
fantastic job, so much great information! I already have a model 2 but I would love to get a 20 pin version with a busted CD drive and install Rhea as a backup system
The Rhea is going to resurrect many a dead Saturn. Well, if they can ever mass produce the damn thing, that is.
Great video! I got my JPN model 2 nearly complete with paperwork, etc. And 14 games for 40$ in Japan last year! Shipping is a killer though.
Im a relatively new subscriber but I gotta say....your content is frickin awesome! I always gave sega my attention...but your content shows me how much i missed from the saturn. Wish i had guardian heroes for example.
great video , I have just recently ordered a Hitachi Saturn with the video card, after being after one for years. cant wait to get it and fire it up to see the boot up.
Best boot sequence on the Saturn. :)
have 2 early model north American, early Japanese model. these systems are tough as hell. I remember back in the day I tried to kill my Saturn. I played Iron storm all night long knowing how hot it was. I was curious to see if it could handle the heat. I still have that system today and it works. of course I take much better care of it today. lol back then, Saturn's were plenty available for cheap if I did need to replace it back then. pretty cool episode! i learned a lot, thanks!!
Kevin Strade I use to do the hot swap region switch and 4mb ram cart back in 98, 99. That Saturn still works, the slot is a little fenicky, but it works. My ps1 had to be turn over to work properly towards the end.lol
Another great episode SLX.
My first system was the OG Japanese Saturn that came in the wide gold box. I don't have it now though, but own a boxed white system and and unboxed This is Cool system. I was lucky with the latter system as I bought it a few years back and it didn't cost me that much, i think it cost me about £100 shipped. I've since had it modded with a unibios, 50/60hz, and modchip mods. So it's my go to system.
I'd love to have the model 2 Hi and V Saturn systems. Maybe when if I go back to Japan again I'll try and get them.
I wasn't aware of the S Korean and Brazilian systems though lol.
Keep up the good work SLX
Dude your SEGA reviews rock!!
Great documentary, worthy of the history channel.
Given all Saturns use the same video encoder (oddly enough a Sony part), I doubt there is any real difference in video output between models, Its not like the Mega Drive where Sega kept changing the encoders. At most there may be a bit more noise in the later models as the system was redesigned and made more compact.
I personally have a PAL model 1 which has a switchless mod to let me play NTSC games without converters at the proper speed. The thing to remember about the Saturn is that due to the library being quite import heavy, American or PAL units are going to need a 4in1 cart to get the most out of the library, which of course adds to the overall cost, as well as wear and tear of the system. A PAL system is also going to have issues running 60hz content at 50hz (sometimes its just slower gameplay and a squashed screen, other times its even things like stuttering music/video).
While I do prefer the look of the western Saturn (no yellowing for a start), I would say most new owners would be best getting a Japanese Saturn , or a modified western one. Also important to note of course is that anyone in 230v land (Europe, Mideast, parts of East Asia, Australia) has to use a stepdown converter with a Japanese Saturn , unless they want to fry the system.
Lastly, its also worth noting that PAL Saturns actually use different video cables than the NTSC versions, as the pinout on the AV port is different, so its important to get the right cable for the right region, as you could damage the system otherwise.
You're telling me. I recently used a Saturn PAL SCART cable on my Saturn NTSC Model 1, and my Saturn died. Oddly, unless I'm remembering wrong (is there even a N64 JPN SCART cable?), using a N64 PAL SCART cable on my N64 NTSC console has been fine. Interesting to note is that the Saturn PAL SCART cable had missing pins whereas the N64 PAL one had them all.
I find getting ahold of a Sega Saturn isn't the biggest issue. It's finding the games at a reasonable price. Some of the games cost as much as the console if not several times more. I am currently looking into flashing an Action Replay cart with Pseudo Saturn so I can play backups. It's pointless to own a Saturn if you can't even play half the library available.
Zaku Guriin it's not hard to do just need a screw driver, some tape and a pro action replay that you wouldn't mind being erased. Note that I think after the soft mod to the pro action it will not work as a memory card but still works as a 4mb etc ram cart.Barring winning the lottery, it was the only way I was going to get to play panzer dragoon saga and it was well worth it. Also note if you are getting if for Saga you will need to find roms that allow you to switch CDs as most easily available ones didn't work for me. Good luck and have fun !!
Hit up Etsy buddy.... I have all the super expensive shooters and rpgs,, I get them for 20 bucks a pop... they come sealed , with spine cards, and look just like the real sega releases,, just make sure to buy a action replay cartridge flashed with suedo Saturn... it will let you play back ups and imports... I’m telling you the shop I buy from on Etsy is a life saver... lol... there is no way in hell I could ever afford half the Saturn games I have if it wasn’t for them...
Pity that Sega seems to have lost the source code for Panzer Dragoon Saga etc. - have always wanted to play that, and a select few Saturn exclusives (never owned a Saturn), but don't feel like paying a small fortune for a copy. These games deserve a digital re-release.
Ralph Hoskins - If I had to choose, I would rather just burn my own downloaded ISOs than enrich pirates selling repros.
Nfo I didn’t know.
Thanks
for a thorough review.
I could watch more, much, much more.
I actually just picked up a Victor Saturn, for only $100, with$10 shipping from Japan. Person was extremely nice, I couldn't help getting it.
As a bonus, had a video card attachment inside the battery area! Wasn't expecting it, but it's cool to have just for the sake of having it for reasons.
Awesome video. I will be getting one and the Japanese launch is what I am aiming for with your recommendation. Will pick up an action replay.
Mine has been pretty solid all these years. The Action Replay is a must own.
Sega Lord X im suprise you respond cause the video wasnt recent. Since I have your attention. Would you recommend i get a saturn w8th phantom mod? It would cost roughly 80-100$ more. I saw some on ebay and it is definitely tempting. Thank you so much in advance.
Sorry. I got the video confuse with another one that you responded too. You have an amazing channel.
The Phantom chips do allow the Saturn an ease of use that can't be denied. If you can afford it, it's a good way to go.
The white edition is the best. And of course the Navi sega saturn is far the god edition. The lcd for sega Navi is the most rare item .nowadays it is impossible to get one, I try but can’t find one, even with an incredible money offer ( I was ready to give 3000 $ just for the lcd but the guy refused)
Edit: i will have the lcd in 3 weeks :-)
Isn't the white one the one that doesn't work with Outrun?
@@Z64sports I think so. I never tried it ( I have 5 Saturn).
I have the white one. The grey one looks cool as well as the white one. Both look a lot more interesting and cool than the black international Saturns. Not all white Saturns have issues with Outrun.
@@Z64sports Not all white Saturns have that problem. It’s only for the ones with motherboard revisions VA10-VA15. The early white Saturns made in 1996-1997 have the SCSU and the Motorola 68000 CPU as separate chips.
I know your comment is 4 years old but I just purchased a white Japanese Saturn and was wondering why you said the white model is the best??
Just bought a mint model 1 japanese launch unit (gray). I also bought an RGB/SCART to Component Video converter and the image looks divine on my 29'' Sony CRT.
Now the next step is to get a Fenrir or a Satiator, but I haven't decided which one I should get.
i never had a Saturn, we skipped from Megadrive to PSX to Dreamcast, but i really like the looks of the model 1 NTSC-J
also, i recognize that ESWAT ending theme in the video outro
Of course i went to you for an overview of Saturn versions lol
A guy in my area is selling the HST-0004 CIB with 4 games for $175 so I'm going to grab that.
Thank you for this video, very informational, and I am clueless and want to get a saturn soon!
I have more in this line of videos coming soon. :)
Exellent tutorial ^^ Saturn Model 1 With Phoebe its my favorite all time
Awesome video thank you this was my system back I the day.
I remember hearing about the navi hi saturn in the 90s and having my mind blown by it :) :)
That navi Hi-Saturn was super impressive!
Oh yeah. It was a tech heads dream back then.
Awesome video thanks for the info it'll help a lot
Thank you for letting me know. :)
One last thing folks might want to bear in mind: if you're using a cart for region bypass, you won't be able to go past the first disc on multi-disc games. You'll need either a modded or proper region system to finish multi-disc stuff from other regions.
Does that count compilations like street fighter collection
@@admiralAlfonso9001 Not most of them. It's games where you have to switch to the next disc to continue the story, but not all of them. If the game prompts a save before the disc swap, you're fine. If it doesn't, that's when you're hosed. On the compilations, it's just a separate disc with other games, so it's fine.
Had no idea there was even two different models. I thought it only applied to the joypads. Interesting info.
Another great and perfectly times video last week I was ebay window shopping and was completely lost
Good. Glad it helped some.
I used to have the North American SEGA Saturn model 2. I miss it so much. Used to be able to change the music pitch of CD tracks while watching a 3D polygonal spaceship fly across the stars.
I'm so glad I had a saturn back in the day. It's just not the same excitement (or disappointment)being a retro collector.
Gotta love that Hang On GP '95 music
That soundtrack was pretty killer.
but the bikes sounded like dying flies.
I know this is an old one but man that ending snuck up on me!
Great video as always!! Totally agree, I think Sega consoles as a whole have the best RGB, especially the Genesis. It's almost unbelievable how bad Genesis composite was. We got the short end of the stick here in NA. My jaw hit the floor the first time I saw a Genesis through RGB, the gulf between it and the Snes wasnt as great as I'd thought, graphically it was being held back by poor composite video. Anywho just one more reason my love for Sega has remained and grown over these almost 30 years.
I had the same experience with RGB. The first time I saw a console hooked up with a good RGB cable, it just floored me. The clarity was off the charts in comparison to composite.
Awesome vids! Keep it up
Thanks man. Appreciate the message. :)
Those pictures look familiar :)
Also the model 2 was released in South Korea and is even harder to find than the Samsung Saturn.
The only one I'm missing is the GameNavi Hi-Saturn.
The Model 2 Korean release is one of the few systems I've never seen with my own eyes. You're right, it's really rare.
Dont forget, if you changing out disc board/assembly, pay attention. As some boards in usa, produced different steps in voltage as it went down to 3v.
Awesome review!
I love these old Sega consoles, but the "This is Cool" variant gives off some Jeb Bush "Please clap" type vibes.
Sega Lord X seen and liked your videos, I always wanted a sega genesis but never had the money for one when I was 10. Once the Sega mini came up for sell here on the states I pre-order one I played it now that I'm 35 my first Sega experience and I think to myself I really missed out on some bad to the bone games
I just purchased Hyper Duel for $350 and I thought *that* was expensive. Some of these console variants for $1500+... wow.
J Kemp Shouldve just modded your saturn and bought a repro for 20 bucks
full moon that's what I do, these games are amazing, but $300+ a game is way too much.
@@elblazemonkey1 maybe to you. Not for others
@@drunkensailor112 at the end of the day we're both getting the same experience anyway.
In europe there was barely any Saturn promotion. They did so well with the mega drive, yet the saturn barely recieved attention from SEGA
SUPER VIDEO!!! MY FAVE CONSOLE
Mine also. Of all the systems I have it's the one with the most games, and thanks to Bomberman, the most controllers!
That's good information. Thank you good sir
I didn't know about the Samsung Saturn... The white one is to me one of the best looking consoles ever, japanese Saturn logo is also so much better looking.
I used to have that white sega saturn back then. I lost it when we kept moving homes. I loved playing games on it despite have a playstation as well.
I like Sega Saturn so much.
It's my childhood.
Ive seen a HiSaturn NAVI once, a friend of mine owns a retro game shop and one day I popped in and in one of the display cases there it was. Honestly one of the coolest things ive ever seen, it was just the console with no controllers or anything, but it was still up there for £1000
Im from Australia & i have a White Model 2 Japanese Sega Saturn With region free cart & voltage converter
Another great video!
Thanks!
I have the Skeleton model from Brazil still brand new and sealed in the box. I think it's pretty cool considering the unknown history between Sega and Techtoy. I've been looking for a complete Saturn Hi Navi for a minute.
I have 5 JP saturns, and the Japanese model 1 launch Saturn, is by far the most reliable in every way.
Loved saturn, but always bought Japanese imports. The west was handled badly. I have a Derby stallion and had to seek out the outrun p1k version. I may buy a model 1 again at since point since it was my original. It broke in 2003 with graphical glitches.
Love your passion.
I have a model one pal Sega Saturn and it still works great and also my Sega Mega drive still works-ish, tends to crash a lot now and yes its the same system I had when I was a brat and it did get bashed around a lot. I would like my Saturn modded to play the Japanese games but fear the upgrade would ruin my system. Like you and many others have said we can pick up affordable systems so I can take the chance on one of them to be kitted out.
Damn mang I have 3x broken ps1, 4x broken ps3 and 1 duffed up ps4, overuse of the systems perhaps compared to the Saturn? Perhaps!
Thanks for another useful vid Mr Sega Lord X, much respect as always.
I had 4 Xbox 360's die on me last generation. I know they had their issues, but jeez!
I have the Samsung saturn too. Very great and now I need some Korean Samsung games
Awesome Video man
Thanks. :)
Awesome video!
I think the grey mk1 looks the most interesting, especially with the blue accents
Amazing video
In fact, in Brazil, especially on models 2, the power supply is bivolt (with the exception of the white and Skeleton models, which were imported at the end of the Sega Saturn's useful life), working at 110V and 220V, with automatic switching. This makes it possible to use the video game without worries in any region of the country. I dare to say that TecToy's power supplies (according to my experience) have excellent quality, even superior to the imported ones from most models I've had access to.
I only want the Sega Saturn for a few games like Sonic 3D Blast and Rayman 1. Both have the best versions of the game on that hardware.
The TecToy version of the Skeleton console is relatively cheap here in Brazil. You can find them in good shape for just over US$ 100. But you mentioned they are not compatible with US games. Are you sure?
A TecToy Brazil Skeleton model fitted with a Pseudo Saturn cart or an Action Replay to break the region locking would be the perfect setup
Ghouls N Ghosts!! Such good game music!
I agree. Early goodness on the Mega Drive.
Very Great Explication and Video,,,,,,,Saludos Lord.....
Great video as always. J would love to get a Japanese console. I have a bunch of Japanese games.
Not rare but did you mention the white sonic silouette saturn?
Old versions of outrun and space harrier didnt work on my m2 victor and cool saturn. But they repressed them.
I have that Japanese “100” Saturn complete in the box and never used. I also have an American version complete in box, its the model 2 that came with the 3 free games.
My favorite is the Japanese Toys 'R' Us white Sonic model.
Sega put very good disc drives in the Saturn. I have a later US model with the better looking controlle. Last time i fired up my Saturn a few years ago it worked with no issues.
Great video
Thank you. :)
We need an update on this topic. I just wanna stay up-to-date on info
I already have a working North American model. I'd be even happier with just the plastic shell for use as a PC case. Then I'd get a motherboard, graphics card, PSU, hard drive, etc., hook up and cable-manage everything appropriately, and play some games. Not a mere Raspberry Pi, but a full-blown PC that can run Fallout 4, Skyrim, etc. on the highest settings.
I bought my Saturn back in 2002 that came with 15 games, 2 light guns, the modem, 2 controllers, all for $75.
The original Sega made model 1 japanese is still the best looking out the bunch. Tho that Hitachi GPS version is very nice.
I agree. It could be because I imported on launch day, but that model IS the Saturn to me.
