  • The ferries between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote run roughly once an hour and are operated by Armas (slow ferry) and this one, Fred Olsen Express (fast ferry).

We caught the 16:00 Fred Olsen Express ferry from Playa Blanca, Lanzarote which took us to Corralejo, Fuerteventura. It is the fastest of the two ferries and takes around 25 minutes. It is much smaller than the Armas ferry with less space outside. The interior is quite smart and comfortable and there is a small shop and a cafe.
We took advantage of the Canary Island residents' discount so our one-way trip from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura, with a car, only cost 32.50€.

Thanks Keith. I wasn't going to publish this video for a few more weeks but got lazy this week. Have a great weekend yourself - if the weather allows.

Nice blue skies. Seems a little expensive even with a discount; I wouldn't want to do that daily! :-)

Yes it isn't cheap, particularly when I discovered the fare to Gran Canaria is only a few Euros more and that is a 5 hour crossing.

Both Armas and Fred Olsen expensive for such a short crossing. I used the small ferry which is cheaper. Armas better for outdoor seating to enjoy the view.

Yes they are, for non-residents at least. As residents we get 75% discount on ferries and flights.

These are year round but not cheap for non-residents. I think it is just over 50€ return.

JP in Fuerteventura thanks for reply yes it seems a bit expensive €50 as we're also on a little bit of a budget due to big family holiday in june. We'll have to have a look in to it when we land thank you 👍

If you are staying in Corralejo there are a couple of trip booking shops that often have deals available.

It actually seems like a nice boat, especially the outside section. Do you make this crossing a lot or is this from the other crossing you made when you showed us the way to Lanzarote? Oh and don't you have any footage from your stay on that sailing boat? Have a great weekend;)

Hi, This was the return journey, you are right. We have only been over twice. This time it was because my son and his wife were in Lanzarote for a long weekend. Our time in Lanzarote is the subject of a future video. Thanks for watching and for your comment - it is appreciated.
