One of but not the only reason people are choosing not to have kids is because of the state of the world. People don't want to raise kids when the world is in utter chaos and gets increasingly more dangerous every single day. Then you have the internet which prevents social interaction on a personal level and finding a mate even more difficult. People, especially the young whom grew up with the internet, have a tremendous difficulty compromising , communicating, and forming long term
bonds, staying in relationships and keeping their commitments. This younger generation is known as the loneliest generation because they can't find a compatible person to marry in order to even think of having a family. and with the price of food, and the inability to even pay rent, they aren't even considering having children when in order to survive they have no choice but to live with mom and dad.
The decrease in population is multifaceted and there are many reasons why its happening, but you can sum it up by saying its the state of the world. Life is exceedingly difficult for a lot of us and from the looks of things its only going to get worse.

I find this confusing. Forgive me if I seem dull. There is a foster care crisis in my home state, countless aborted babies per day, plenty of neglected, trafficked, and homeless children around. It seems that our population isn't shrinking but is UNWANTED and UNLOVED. Lord help us.

I agree. I always wanted to adopt 'unwanted' children, but I can't afford too. I'm struggling to feed myself, and I'm officially homeless, (although I have a place to stay for now). I love adoption because it gives kids another chance at finding home, but I hate that it's a business, and the children are treated as a commodity. They should just look for good and decent people who are able to take care of kids, and let them adopt them without fees.
There is a global fertility crisis that needs to be addressed. I truly think it comes down to the increasing individual burden of chemicals.

No human baby's natural conception or birth is possible without the presence, protection and will of the Lord, just look at the women from the times before Jesus was born.
Jesus told us that we are worth more than the sparrow and that the Father is aware of each bird as it hops around, is born or passes away but that He even knows the number of hair we have at all.
Jesus instructed us to, above all else, seek the will of the Lord and His Kingdom because He already knows what our physical needs are. The question is not just about why there are so few younger people but rather "Where has the people that believes in the Lord God Almighty and His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ gone?"

Getting approved to adopt a child cosrs $30,000 - $45 000 in fees to the state for invasive and demean8ng inspections madated by law and billed to the would be parents, who have to pay even of they are declined as unfit. You are grilled as if you just trafficked thousands of kids when all you want to do is adopt one. The state wants c8ntrol of these kids forever until the day they turn 18 & are thrown out like they were trash. If you try to move out of state they get upset & they don't like allowing military people to adopt because we "move too much" and the child "won't have a stable home life." The cost to adopt is ridiculous. Adoption advocacy groups need to push back against this, the nitpicking, invasinve, debasing treatment of prospective adoptive parents...it'stime.for reasonable inspections and respectful interviews without accusations.

The reason people are starting to worry about this is because it's like a runaway train. We're not just going to drop to 4 billion. The population will continue to increase for a few years, but then it will level out. And then some time this century, there will globally be more old people than people still capable of having kids.
Those of us who have big families are not making up for all the people who are not having kids, in terms of replacement rate. We will be way less than 4 billion.
The only stress our resources have had is globalists and climate change hysterics destroying it with their uranium cars and lust for trans humans ,AI and facebook.
It's not the whole number of living people who count, it's the people under 30 who count as population who makes the future because they are reproductive age.

I was infertile for 11 yr when I finally carried a baby to term. He is God's Christmas gift to us - born Christmas Eve, & we have always had a seoarate birthday celebration for him. He is a man now & we are proud of him. I pray for infertile women esp when adoption is so difficult. I hear your pain.

I realize as of covid lockdowns everything has gotten 100% more expansive. I realize they are taking away private property ownership and small business away from the people. Nevertheless, mothers taking care of their own children means no daycare bill, and healthier children, and breastfeeding means no costly formula. Feed the mother and feed the baby. You dont need career clothes and 2 cars if you take care of your own child until they get old enough to be apart, like 7 yrs, first grade.

Afford? You mean afford as in daycare and tablets? Children are the cheapest thing to raise that there is. You can be naked and live in a cave andcrsise healthy happy children. All that's required is a mother who will hold the child and a man to hunt for food.

You need to buy them clothing every year or so, as they grow out of their clothing. You can hand the clothing down, but that has a chance of causing minimal psychological harm for some children to have to wear their older siblings old clothing. You have to be able to transport them safety, and legally. Bus fare is high, and car seats and car maintenance/upkeep is high! Naked children living in a cave would probably get the authorities out, and they would take your kids away.

If I knew that the world was going to become this difficult I wouldn’t of had children either even though, it would’ve killed me inside. If a person works they should be able to participate in buying goods and services within society. Society is pricing itself out. Shooting themselves in the foot. Both homeowners and the corporations. The wealth of The Boomers are being sat on instead of investing that money back into the community. People are simply selfish and only thing about themselves. I noticed years ago that when i went grocery shopping, i didnt see many women with infants in the carriages. So , i remember saying to my husband, "Have you noticed that there are very few women with infants & children?"
A huge lie is being told to young women that they have all the time in the world to have children - put their careers first and then have children later, only to find out that they waited too long. And I hear over and over again that "we can't afford to have children" - but they're waiting for the perfect circumstances in order to have children and then they age and can't get pregnant.
