This video gave me the courage to come out when I convinced myself I never would so thank you! I came out two years ago and this video still to this day reminds me of the emotions I was battling then and why I've never been happier
i have watched this video so many times since it was first made, and to this day it is still the best video I have ever seen. Thank you to all who were a part of this.
This was a beautiful, meaningful video! Thank you I hope this brings hope and strength to all the boys and girls, men and women who feel afraid to be who they are and hope that one day that fear disappears.
I just wanted to thank you guys for being brave enough to stand up for an entire community of people suffering from other's ignorance and hate. The world will one day know peace and that will be thanks to people like you. Thank you so much!
The choreo is perfect. I love the seemingly careless flinging of perfectly straight arms and the contrast between fists, blades, and jazz hands. The constant movement is stunning. Ugh, whenever I need a good cry, I watch this video.
I'm not getting bullied, neither am I suffering from social harm. But if one day, I chance upon anyone being bullied, in any manner that is unacceptable, I will stand up for him/her. Thank you Itgetsbetter Project, for allowing me to find worth among the many :D
Awesome job!! Keep doing what you're doing. Praying for every single kid out there who just wants to be loved and accepted for who you are. You are perfect, it's the world that is screwed up. Stay strong and keep your paws up. It will get better.
This is one of my top favorite videos on CZcams. The first time I watched it I got chills, and I still get chills now. What a talented group of people. Great job!
I remember watching this in 2012 when I was in my senior year in high school. I was a shy gay kid back then, and I thought I was pretty boring and no one would ever want to talk to me. I didn’t have many friends and many kids don’t respect me much. It was not a easy time for me but I was listening to born this way and I really connected with it. And there was this huge discussion about lgbt and teenage suicide and it gets better project and this video. They made me feel absolutely sure that accepting gay people and accepting yourself is 100% the right thing to do. Thanks for doing this. It means so much and it will always be an important memory for me.
watching this in 2015 i don't think it actually got any better so far. only yesterday i received death threats from someone on youtube for a comment that wasn't even provocative. it evolved into a "discussion" in which he constantly insulted me, telling me gay men were all child-rapists and had to die so on and so forth and that he would actually shoot me, if he ever met me and i would call him "sweetheart" (which i didn't btw). two more joined into the insulting and although one of them thought killing me would be a bit over the top he still kept up the insults and preferred me committing suicide. nobody joined the "conversation" to support me. i don't really care all that much since this is just youtube and i would be stupid to take everything to heart that is said here. but my impression is, there's a lot of positive comments on videos like this one, but in the end nobody really looks out for you. people aren't even perceptive enough to see what's going on. it's easy to cheer on a cheerful group in a video but hard to defend one stranger that you don't even notice while being busy texting your friends or having a good time.
just ignore the haters...the people who think that gay people r rapists are idiots and losers just looking for attention to impress themselves...in real life thyre not gonna do what they say cause theyll either be scared to do it or wont have the courage too........just stay strong and ignore the haters.....they have nothing in this world to do then to embarrass themselves online just to get attention ive had many threats on my youtube channel where people were calling me fat and ugly and saying my singimg voice was bad and i should give u singing but heres the thing i commented back and said thats cool....was that supposed to hurt me????? they stopped responding after that cause they knew i didnt care.....stay strong and dont let haters ruin your life....
Regardless of any individual and/or collective moral standpoints, politics, or religious beliefs-the courageousness that is demonstrated through this project and its imagery is undeniable. I'm glad that I made the decision to set aside a few minutes out of my night to watch this.
The huge talents of a big group of great people spending a long time working together so effectively to spread such a positive message moves, motivates and validates me more than anything else in the entirety of the online community. It Gets Better. It truly does. If you are being bullied, just know that you have people that understand, care, will not judge you and WILL help you. There is strength in asking for help.
Everyone that participated in this: THANK YOU for an extremely entertaining video (you guys are all incredibly talented) and most especially, thank you for promoting the message of tolerance. This video most definitely should be nominated for a VMA. How long did you guys practice and when was this shot? I am blown away by this work. Just amazing! Good luch to every single one of you!
There I was watching it, enjoying it. The out of no where tears start streaming out of my eyes. The love from this video, I really hope it inspires all those having a hard time! xo
Congratulations on gaga seeing this! She said on twitter that she LOVED it! This video is so beautiful and I can tell you guys put a lot of effort into making this! It is outstanding work and a positive message! I love it so much! It is beautiful
it's an amazing message u sending everyone not just the young lgbt group but even young guys in their 20's that yes it does get better but it starts with U..forget everything negative u hear, think positive and u will attract positivity, send love to the universe by just doin positive things anything will do don't need to spend any money if u don't have it, times are tough, tell ur friends u love them, it will bring them a smile and a smile can go a mile..It's a new era
Amazing that all this took place at Bonduel High. This was published my freshman year at BHS and I had no idea about it when the production took place until watching this about a month ago!
:) This music video gave me the good chills. On top of that, the two guys attending the dance in the music video reminded me of when I asked my boyfriend to prom, and how we didn't care about anyone else around us because it was a very special night and we had so much fun. It's a great feeling, so beautiful. Thank's for making this!
5/6 years later I still admire this video! Everyone in this was incredible! Lady Gaga is a Genius for the song, Duh. I always wanted to learn this choreography!
This is a nice video and great song I've ever seen and heard! an amazing combination, good job for people who was involved in it! It's really touching and inspiring to everyone. I can't stop watching this video. "You should be who you are and who you wanna be", It Gets Better! Paws UP!! Love you Lady GaGa!!
I am beyond moved by this. I came out when I was 14 and I had "family" who shunned me for it and I had a hard time in school my freshmen year, that was 7 years ago. I am beyond moved and completely inspired to know that it's because of people like you guys who made this video that ignorance is fading. Bravo guys! Bravo
This is my first time watching this video, and great job. I wish I would've known about this video years ago, because it definitely would've helped me understand myself better when I was in high school.
Wow The choreography had me right from the first step,U all did an amazing job!Absolutely FLAWLESS!! I am 36yrs old & I went thru a lot back when I first came out, I actually hid that I was gay for a long time, Ive been judged, I've been scrutinized, I have been called names etc.. 1 day I just said Im not puttin up w/ this shit any more, & I stood up held my head up high an I do believe that I am good, I am human, I am loved! Take it from some1 thats been there IT DOES GET BETTER! Great job!
Colton, I want everyone to know that it gets better than better. I am living proof. What you did is amazing. Well done. I hope we all will see more of your great work.
Im gay , and i just cry EVERYTIME , this is amazing . words dont begin to describe how much this video inspired me . keep on the good job , and remember you're not alone , anytime you are told you are not normal and not okay just know that you are not normal . u are spectacular , and you are not okay , you are amazing . love u all
This is an incredibly empowering and inspiring video. I showed it to a friend that's having a tough time with the hopes that it will make him feel better. Job well done.
This video is sheer brilliance! I have several gay friends and love them as much as I love my other friends. Some aren't a fan of Lady Gaga but they love this video for what it represents. There's definitely a lot of work and dedication shown. Music Videos despite being happy, cool or sad are extremely difficult to make/film because everything has to be on cue. Wonderful job on the video and for making a website to help people.
This is an amazing video. I can't believe I'm just now coming across it. I absolutely love the choreography work and time put into this. The boy in the beginning of the video is absolutely gorgeous ;)
This might be one of the best music videos I've ever seen, just because it sends out a great message. Great job you guys, it looks like you put alot of hard work and effort into this video. :)
This video makes me SO proud of my school. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has truly been an amazingly accepting place for so many of us. I couldn't be more grateful to have found such a great place to study at.
This video gave me the courage to come out when I convinced myself I never would so thank you! I came out two years ago and this video still to this day reminds me of the emotions I was battling then and why I've never been happier

most schools dont pay attention to bullying problems....they need to learn to!!!
Especially the teachers, that turn their head the other way, when it happens in their classroom.
I just wanted to thank you guys for being brave enough to stand up for an entire community of people suffering from other's ignorance and hate. The world will one day know peace and that will be thanks to people like you. Thank you so much!

Why bother engaging with people, ESPECIALLY online, who don’t contribute to your happiness? Their opinion means less than nothing, just ignore them.
YAAAAAAS! I'm always huge on the dancing for a song and you nailed it. 8/10!!!
Regardless of any individual and/or collective moral standpoints, politics, or religious beliefs-the courageousness that is demonstrated through this project and its imagery is undeniable. I'm glad that I made the decision to set aside a few minutes out of my night to watch this.
