Patagonia - Laguna Sucia and Laguna Piedras Blancas | Fitz Roy

Laguna Sucia and Laguna Piedras Blancas are stunning turquoise colored lakes at the base of the famous Mount Fitz Roy. Glacier fed waterfalls fill the lakes, and provide an unforgettable backdrop to this dramatic landscape of giant rock spires towering towards the sky. These lakes are in restricted areas and require scrambling over boulders to reach, but the effort is well worth it. You can reach the lakes by hiking from the town of El Chaltén, or by hiking from the north through Piedra del Fraile.
