  • Some really good friends of ours called us to come try & catch baby 3 pea chicks bc something has been killing them. So we rode over to the rescue!!!
    **Watch The Peachicks Get MOVED into their new location:
    • Peacocks & Chickens li...
    Now we are in the processing of raising the peachicks on the homestead! So follow us on this journey...I will update their growth, so STAY TUNED!!
    The crazy thing is we have raised peachicks in the past here at Cog Hill Farm & Homestead, & they turned out to be beautiful peacocks / peafowl, but we had to get rid of them bc the peacocks would get into the gardens & eat all the vegetables & also would beat up some of our chickens! So this time, we are planning on building a coop just for peacocks, so stay tuned for that video, on how we built a peacock coop!!

    She should hold a small hummingbird feeder and that should draw them to her.

    That’s exactly what we use as a brooder too. We attached hardware cloth to the lid after we cut a hole and it works well!!

    I just got 4 peachicks. Unfortunately one died dont know why. Ive been keeping them warm and feeding millets. Some one plz temme How to care peachicks. What do they feed on

    • @CogHillFarm
      @CogHillFarm  Před 7 lety +1

      Peachicks are not near as hardy as a chicken or duckling....we had 3 out of 6 die a few months ago, for no apparent reason....we feed ours a non medicated chick starter. They do not like the cold either, but you said yours are warm, so that shouldn't be an issue.....good luck!!!

    • @amysofta
      @amysofta Před 7 lety +4

      Peas are just as hardy they need more protein. You need to feed them feed that has at least 20% protein, higher if you can find it. You can also supplement with hard boiled eggs and cat food. Takes a lot of energy to grow those fancy feathers.

    This is not a peacock..

    • @cwbyjnkies
      @cwbyjnkies Před 3 lety +1

      They are not the most intelligent birds; however to keep them safe, they also need at least 8 foot height in their pens, basically 80 square feet per bird. Yes, they become a meal for a fox, etc but they also can fly when older. Their pens need to be kept clean; the mortality rate is high if they are kept with chickens, turkeys or ducks.
