My mom actually owns a 99 C3500 SRW, big block also. I am currently working on it for improvements. I figured since she was a single mom raising 3 kids with a ranch, least I can do is fix her 1 ton and put it back into good condition. MPG is where it gets ya though. I use 91, filled up on $80 with the tank at 1/4 haha
I used to own a 1998 Chevy 2500 454 ex cab long bed pull very good. But for some reason it like to run to warm in the summer months. Tried several things nothing ever worked. It was ok if your weren't hauling a heavy load. Finally sold it and got a 2004 Chevy 3500 crew cab long bed dually 8.1 L. 496ci. 410 rear end gears with the Allison transmission 5 speed. Love this truck it will haul anything I need. It has hauled 16 5x5 round rolls of hay . With no problem
I’ve heard a lot of people say their 454 ran hot. Mine actually runs cool I’ve only seen it near 210 like 1 maybe 2 times. Dads 94 runs a little hotter though
Love seeing the truck being put to work, I have a '97 with the 7.4 L29. What is the approx weight you are hauling? How does the truck do with the load?
what year is your obs truck here and 4x4 of course cause i just bought a 2wd 95 c3500 crew dually and they keep telling me i cant tow more then 12k with it
I just towed a 40 foot fifth wheel with my 2000 k2500 350 vortec with an automatic. Total weight was 22,650, truck it self weights 6500. Total weight of the camper was 16,150.
As a rule of thumb you can tow anything stopping it is the problem. I’ve pulled a Ford 5000 with a front end loader and 8 foot box blade with my 96 Silverado 1500 with a 350 Vortec. The only issue I had was stopping. Took special care with that one.
@@brandonalley1082 son it ain't the towing it, the problem is stopping it. It's all fun and games till ur on the phone with sweetie and don't notice the light turned red
Just a gooseneck ball! Motor is all stock besides headers. Dads got a 94 454 that’s bone stock and we tow loads just like that regularly with it. In fact here in the next month I have 60 1,000 pound round bales I gotta haul home so be on the watch for that one! I run 14 rounds in a load
They are Scitoo tow mirrors I got on Amazon and then I got them paint matched! I like them, they work really well. The top mirrors shake a little at highway speeds but nothing too out of control

I still have a 1997 7.4l used to run hot till I replace the cooling fan switch and I never had a problem after.
Beautiful view at your farm !
Man what a beautiful place you live.
Blessed.
Great rig buddy
Was looking at one of these trucks to haul my 38’ fifth wheel. I think the truck would be up for it

Those loads are about 14,000 pounds. It does good! Gas milage is bad as one would expect but it handles really nice!

Exactly!

What gooseneck hitch is this?
hey do you think it can tow a 3 car trailer with 3 cars?? or is too much
great videos!!
I’d bet it could handle that. For efficiency I’d say find a diesel but I’d give it a shot! And thank you! Glad you enjoy!

This trucks can pull a bobcat??
Did you have to do any modifications to be able to tow this much? I'm thinking up a c3500 was bummed to see it can only tow 10k

How much was your weight on trailer?
I estimate roughly around 18000 pounds

@@cjfarms5600 Fantastic, thank you. Got a '98 K3500 dually, and the factory mirrors are pretty terrible, this is going to help a lot.
@@om617yota7 oh gotcha. Ya I love towing with these mirrors. I can actually see around the load lol
Do you know what gears in the rear you are running?
4.10s front and rear!
Thank ya sir 👍
