The Battle of Camp Wildcat was the 2nd American Civil War engagement in the state of Kentucky. The Battle of Barbourville was the first engagement in the state of Kentucky which occurred on September 19, 1861. Outstanding video!!!

So rewarding to make the effort to get up to Camp Wildcat-my wife said “Are you sure this is a road?!?”

The place is certainly occupied by ghost/ghosts. I walked the road to the top many times at night during past reenactments and experienced something every time. One of the best reenactments in Kentucky.

Well done describing an engagement like so many others small scope in the large picture but playing a large role as events unfolded.

I have been to Mill Springs & Perryville, heard of Camp Wildcat but never searched it out... Thanks! Next trip to the area, I will make the pilgrimage. Among my civil war friends, occasionally I encounter a friendly contest of "have you ever been to...." This one might just win the trophy!

Thank you for the invite of the battle. Do you plan to use a drone to get above the trees and to shoe the rugged terrain of the hill side and the positions of the army?

Civil War was about States Rights, nothing to do with slavery. I realize he never spoke of the reason why.

Agree, people of the south were paying as much as 85 percent of the funding of the federal government. Would you stand for that ?
