This was a journey from Madinah to Makkah using the new Haramain Highspeed Railway.
We bought the tickets last-minute and paid 276 SAR (£54 or $73) one-way but it is much cheaper if you book in advance.
To buy tickets and to get more information about timetables please visit sar.hhr.sa
There is Uber in both Madinah and Makkah and prices are very reasonable to and from the Haramain to the station.

Assalamualaikum. Yes, the stations do have lifts, but they can get congested as they use these to transport luggage to the platform. I am sure they will make wheelchair users a priority to use the lifts.
@@HalalTrek thanks
Salam, where to read 2 rakats before starting your umrah? Because normally they pray at Dhu Al Alayfa miqaat.
Alaikumus salaam. As far as we know, the two rakat is prayed if you stop at Dhul Hulayfa meeqat point. This is where the Prophet (SAW) prayed. But as far as we know, if you are the train, you do not pray the 2 rakah.
You can take large suitcase of 25kg
Assalamualaikum sir
Ticket price from madinah to makkah in economy and business both
Assalamualaikum. For a Saturday on economy it ranges from 172-362 SAR per person (£40.21/$45.77 - £84.64/$96.33) depending on what time you depart. Business class ranges from 362-833 SAR (£84.64/$96.33 - £194.76-$221.66)
do you need to go to any meeqat , how does it work when on train please
The train station is before the meeqat. There is usually an announcement on the train when approaching the Dhul Hulayfa meeqat point.
Are they strict about the luggage sizes? Do they allow exception of few inches?
I just came back from Madinah last month and took the speed train from Makkah to Madinah. They were very strict with the size of the luggage and number of luggages you carried. The officer will stop you when you're queuing up to enter the train track. I followed the instructions from their website regarding the luggage size.
where do you take miqat?
Miqaat is announced on the train once it passes by Dhul Hulaifa.
هل يوجد قطار من مكة إلى المدينة المنورة؟
هل هناك ، القطارات تسير في كلا الاتجاهين. يمكن العثور على مزيد من المعلومات حول الجدول الزمني على الموقع الإلكتروني
How to know about meeqat on train ?
@@supragang786 It's announced on the on-board automated tannoy.
How do you do ihram from train?
Men would usually wear the ihram in hotel before going out for the journey. Once on the train, the miqat will be announced from where you may make your intention if you have not done so already and then the recitation of the talbiyah begins "Labbayka llahumma labbayk, labbayka laa sharika laka labbayk, innal hamda, wani'matam lakal wal mulk, laasharikalak"
Are the taxis easily available outside station?
Yes, but best to use Uber inshaAllah
If u have more luggage and people, better to take the uber XL option, it has more space and comfort
Yes, there is a cab rank right outside of Madina Railway Station. However, Jeddah has a pickup point you have to get to first i.e. signs are clearly dotted around the station.
Does the train run 24 hours?
The train does not run 24hrs a day. The timetable states the first train leaves at 8am and the last train leaves at 11pm.
How many bags each person can take on the train and is there porter service available or hand carts like airport available at train stations? Kindly reply.
According to their website "Each passenger can bring one large sized piece of luggage with up to 25 kg and with dimensions up to 65 x 55 x 35 cm (length-height-width)." Plus a hand luggage per passenger.
And yes, there is a luggage service at each station.
