My favorite safety growing up. He wasn’t just a hard hitter, he was also a ball hawk. Plus he was a Super Bowl champion & a 🔒 for the HOF. What a waste

Man, I loved watching him as a kid. He was an absolute juggernaut! Why did he have to go on and do all that mess to other people? He had a lock on the HOF... absolute shame. More than anything else, I truly hope his victims were able to recover.

What a shame… I hate how power seems to corrupt most everyone. Sharper was a HOF caliber player easily, but instead he decided to literally fuck up everything.

@thisthresh4248 maybe, but then again sometimes people are just... born, almost evil.
It'd make more sense if stuff like that was more common, but I'd wager every football player has CTE, but stuff like this is rare.
Sharper was raised in a super loving home and taught to respect everyone around him, women especially, but instead, he turned into that.
It could be CTE, but at the same time you'd be horrified to see what a lot of people would do with no repercussions.
One woman did an experiment where she wrote on a sign that she was an object, do whatever.
After a while a circle was formed around her to protect her when people started... pulling a Sharper.

@@praetorian9823 i hear alot of your points.. i think all people are capable of evil.. theres a switch in our brains that prevent us from doing something wrong when we know it is.. maybe cte can shut off that switch we dont know.. and remembering the type of player sharper was.. he def had cte.. dude was a warrior.. and i guess he probably was from the time he first put pads on at around 8 years old.. when he lost that he lost part of himself.. combine that with the cte and theres just alot of guesses that can be made.. it makes no sense that a dude who could have whatever he wanted would throw it away.. i know i would try my best not to.

You should probably care about it. He’s a monster and his football accomplishments are rendered moot because of it. Also, as a saints fan, how do you reckon with that super bowl season? Considering your coaching staff was paying its players to injure opposing players. Seems like that that season, much like Sharper’s career, should have a big ol’ asterisk next to it.
