Restoring Rare Vintage Ribbon Microphones

  • This video shows the restoration process behind a rare Shaftesbury RT Ribbon Microphone (made in England in the 1960's) and National WM-706 Ribbon Microphone (made in Japan in the 1960's). It's likely that I won't have another Shaftesbury ribbon on my bench ever again, and the National ribbon has a unique motor that makes for a bright sounding ribbon.

    Really cool, I’m enjoying your videos!! Quick question, are you still able to source the Beyerdynamic headphone drivers to do the conversion like you did for Manny Nieto?? I believe you converted the X 50? To basically be a 380? Thanks 😊
