  • Making this clip was quite fun since the mecanum wheels were always of interest to us and add a whole new dimension of freedom to the builds and projects.
The new LEGO Mindstorms motors fit perfectly either with the regular black pins or with the standard cross axles. These also work with the older NXT & Mindstorms EV3.
Please pay close attention to the mecanum wheels orientation or else the code may fail or you will simply have to find a different way to program your robot.
In this particular case, each wheel location corresponds to the port closest to it on the brick as you can see in the clip. This made it easy to program but also added a few anomalies such as back arrow for the forward move etc.
These can be easily addressed by switching ports or directions but once you master this part of the code the rest will be a walk in a park.
Feel free to email or DM us on Instagram, Twitter or TikTok for more tips, updates or information or to ask for a specific code or program explained by kids so other kids can understand.
Thank you for watching and please don't forget to subscribe for new clips and updates.
