    Thank you for posting this video. It’s extremely helpful. I’m wondering if the 4 questions remain the same each year or if they change? I’m specifically wondering about admission for Fall 2025. Thank you!

      Hi! Thanks for your question. The four questions are generally the same each year on the application. If there is any major change or update, we will update the video as well.

    My school doesn't offer any honor or AP classes, I am wondering if that would hurt my admissions to get into the school when competing against the GPA of other students who are trying to get into the same major.
    In addition to this, despite the fact my school doesn't offer any AP classes, it does offer AP testing that students need to self-study for. And I am wondering if that would help me in anyway in the admissions GPA calculations.

      Hi! Thanks for your question. Students with AP or Honors classes will be given a weighted GPA for up to only 8 semesters. The rest of the GPA is determined on a four point scale. This allows for more even competition between applicants.
      AP exam scores can be used in the place of taking certain classes once you are admitted, but they do not assist in the admissions process.

    And another question, Do you think SAT will be required for 2024 admits? I know Cal Poly isn't accepting them right now.

      SAT and ACT exam scores will no longer be used for admissions purposes moving forward. Applicants may use exam scores only for course placement purposes.

    How would someone get to a 10 in English if high school is four years, a maximum of 8 semesters?

    • @CalPolyAdmissions
      @CalPolyAdmissions  Před rokem

      Thank you for your question. Many applicants will take a college-level course in English over a summer or semester. One semester of a college-level class will count as two semesters of high school coursework.

      @@CalPolyAdmissions Would any course in English count, such as a poetry class or classic literature? Thanks for getting back to me!

      @@madamepaulettes5337 It would be best to call the Admissions office to speak with an Officer regarding which classes would be acceptable. 805-756-2311 between 12pm and 5pm M-F
