The car looks great in this color! Beauty justifies some suffer - if it indeed needs more maintenance. Not sure about Extended Back, makes the grills even larger optically. But from all-grey/black design language that suits well.

@@swede-365 as a car is a little little over 2 tons, is this noticible with the fast cornering speed you have set up in the driving assistant or in in the case of emergency braking ?
Actually the car handles very well and is really fun to drive. The fast mode is not “fast”, the other alternatives are very slow 😊

That's a really great presentation of many of the functions which I would like to adjust on our car which is only a week old.
As regards the Comfort setting for opening the boot with yr foot, that irritatingly doesn't work on our car at all which is really frustrating as it was an important function for my wife, in particular. That apart it's still a great car! Look forward to yr next presentation.
Just give it one kick straight forward and it should work. Not sideways. If you have that function. I know other BMW models in Sweden that don’t get it because of lack of components.

Good video. One thing I will do when my UK iX1 eventually arrives is create a new Spotify account as part of our bigger Spotify family plan. Without that, whenever my wife is driving the car and turned on Spotify, their "one user -one speaker" policy would kill Spotify in my office. It's a failing of Spotify-and if you have capacity in a Spotify family account, best to start it off in a way which doesn't create tension in the household.
Thanks so much for such a comprehensive video. You've done much better job explaining options than the BMW themselves. One question that pops into my mind is the general firmness/comfort of the ride on the 20 inch wheels. Have you got the m adaptive suspension? Would greatly appreciate if you could elaborate on that.
Adaptive suspension is standard on the iX1. No problem with the comfort.
Great presentation! Is it possible to do something similar focused on the options in the My BMW app related to this car? I'm especially interested in the possibility to precondition the temperature inside the car remotely. Also, if you could show an example of how the car sends a notification on your smartphone in case of attempted burglary/theft (for example have someone shake the car while parked to simulate such condition). Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Hi, really nice and comprehensive overview. I am waiting on my X1 xDrive30e Hybrid, similar to yours. Fully loaded, same color, black mirrors. How do wash your car, as Frozen grey, could be difficult to clean? Space silver was not available in October.
It’s protected with Gyeon ceramic coating for matte colours so really easy to clean.

@@swede-365 My wife has one on order due March. I currently have an 2020 M340i and learned a few things e.g ventilation mode with the sunroof / screen. Didn’t know about that. Looking forward to seeing how the augmented satnav works in real life. Looks really good. Also like how they’ve improved the assisted driving where you can now set the cornering speed, always feels too slow in my car so interesting to see you’ve set to fast.
Fast is not “fast”. The other alternatives are very slow according to me but fast is acceptable.
@@swede-365 How are you finding the cabin noise? It sounds very quiet and other reviews have said it’s pretty impressive.
It’s really quiet but Nordic friction tyres are also very soft and silent. Will be interesting to experience it with summer tyres later on.

Can you show me your car key? I ordered iX1 in Hong Kong, still months to have real one.
Many thanks for your time. I also have ordered an iX1, coming round May. However, I am not too happy with the small 65 KWh battery. For such money I d expect 85 KWh. I have an i4 so know how efficient the drivetrain is but still, it is a tall SUV with a small battery. Not sure whether I ll go for it in the end.
Yes it’s a pity it’s a rather small battery because the consumption is really good.
In its favour, if the range figures hold, its efficient enough to not be any worse than the AWD versions current Volvo XC40 P8 or the C40 model. But those vehicles will probably be getting larger batteries, just as the polestar 2 is, to deal with their lack of range.
Hello. Thank you for very informative video. I have a question in regards to large suitcases, on some other video I've seen that large ones wont fit laying flat, is it possible to put them standing on the wheels or the heigh would be a problem ? I'm considering X1 for my family 2+2kids and wondering how it will do on the road trips. Thanks in advance
It’s a small car so it’s best that you visit a dealer and check out for yourself. I think it will be tight have them standing.

It’s not stiff at all in normal driving mode. In sport mode more stable but not stiff there either.But Nordic friction tyres are very soft so maybe different with summer tyres.

I just received my new X1 xdrive 23d, I have many things to configurate, I guess it takes time to know and get familiar with all features of the infotainment, at the moment I cannot even set the blind spot of the external mirror 😅. If you have any suggestions about, will be much appreciated. Bye

I think should be included into the drive assistant professional, but I have the plus….that is also not let me change the line by setting the turn indicator…..beside this small but nice features, I like the car very much….I really enjoy this new X1, my previous car was X1 18d, nothing to compare.

Great review. One of the best out there! One question. In the surround view cameras, does it have wheel view like Audi and Merc? And if not, what do you think is the best view to enter a very tight alley which has small low curbs which are hard to see? Thanks 🙏
You can choose camera to view in the 3d view
If you choose the side cameras in 3D you see the wheels from the side like in Audi

Its ir led for the driver attention camera. You don’t see them irl, they are only visible on camera 😊

If you have it you see it clearly on the mirror even when it’s not turned on.

I have a question, found in the X1 user manual that it could have a garage door opener integrated into the rearview mirror. But there is no mention of it in the pricelist, so wondering if it is available in EU-models. Do you have it in your iX1?
I don’t have it because compatibility usually is bad on the ones from car manufacturers.
@@swede-365 As it is not specified as an option in the pricelist, I hoped it might be there by default. Of course, another question is how it works.

It’s definitely not standard and don’t think it’s an option in Sweden on iX1.

Nice video! What happened to the other video of yours demonstrating the adaptive led headlights? Why did you remove it?
I got so many angry and hostile messages when I criticised the function so I took it away. I might do an updated version. I have done some more testing and I am not that impressed of neither range or function.

It’s different in different countries so you have to ask BMW where you live
Is it possible in Sweden to buy only the wireless charger?
In Portugal BMW charge 1800€ for a pack that includes the charger with other things that I don't need

Yes, that’s no problem. You can have individual profiles.

You can lock it without interior alarm enabled.

It's good, very good comfort. But also I have soft winter friction tyres now so it will be interesting to see what’s it like with summer tyres.

Yes, it only uses the lumbar support for massage.
Is the tow bar only with the IX1, I haven’t seen it as an option for the petro version?
In Sweden it’s available on all X1 models I think

It’s incline is adjustable but it’s not slidable

Very different, huge difference between different operators. Cheapest about 15 - 20 Euro but can also be 3 times that amount.

Excellent video! I am browsing through BMW’s web configurator but can’t find blind spot detection. Also, I can’t recall that this function was present on the demo car I drove last week. In which package (in Sweden) is blind spot detection introduced? I am thinking of this small orange lamp in the outside mirrors.
It’s in some of the driving assistance packages, best is to check with your local dealer.
