- British Strongman, Luke STOLTMAN, battles 2020 World’s Strongest Man, Oleksii NOVIKOV, hoping to win his first 'Europe's Strongest Man' in 2021.
Its been 30 years since a Scotsman won Europe's (Forbes Cowan).
For Novikov, he will be the first Ukrainian to ever win the European title, if he does it.
A Stellar field in a packed Leeds Arena enjoyed a WORLD RECORD in the Deadlift for reps amongst many other amazing Feats of Strength.
The 2021 World Log Lift Challenge was the first event of an EPIC Competition.

Big congrats to Luke! Always such a fan favorite, such a great ambassador for the sport, so glad for him here.
It is always easy to get emotional with Luke mostly.
Man, his moment just gave me a ball in my chest , a huge one, that felt like compassion, caring, happiness, warmness and all the good and positive things you can say about that feeling.
Luke , and his baby brother as he says happen to be my fav athletes in this sport because of their humbleness , it doesnt know any limits.
Such down to earth people are hard to find.
Two of my biggest inspirations are the brothers 100%

Wow! Impressed with Novikov's mind set on the stones. He wanted to win the stones for himself, but wasn't rooting for Luke to go slow at all. He was genuinely excited for Luke to finish fast and win the whole competition. He was congratulating Luke even before Luke knew for sure that he had won.
No, he thought he beat Luke and got 1st place overall
A well-deserved win, a great athlete and s great guy.
Capes only won two wsm titles. 83 and 85.

Mad how so many guys missed the opener it kinda ruined the show making it a 3 horse race from the beginning
Well it's always that way. No disrespect to anyone but in all competitions it's always battle again 1-2 guys or maybe 3 at most and it's always clear after first 1-2 events at most.
I think this was the show where the spotlight was blinding them

U do realise there is such thing as weaknesses Luke probably would have won anyway due to his high placing of the Log. Also, Oleksii dropped points on the deadlift, an event he is usually strong
The Stoltmans or hall can’t win any show that doesn’t have Colin involved

Historically those who come from Latin countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and to a lesser extent France have not been all that much involved at ESM. For the most part it all comes down to those from Scandinavian countries, the British isles and Eastern Europe.
