- George Michael - the Wham! frontman turned legendary solo performer - died on Christmas day, 2016, from heart failure brought on by years of substance abuse. Michael's life was derailed by his 1998 arrest for a lewd act, which made him the butt of jokes and subjected the famously-private star to unwanted media scrutiny. But in death he finally found the rehabilitation he searched for so desperately in life, and with it a renewed appreciation for his art and the legacy he left behind.

Wake me up before you go go is a Fantastic song and it reminds me of the awesome 80's. George Michael and Wham gave us a lot of awesome songs
It figures that TMZ would want to write about George Michael's last days. Not about the thousands of days he had before when he wrote and sang music that continues to be listened to every day. I guess it's just about jealousy. When you have that much talent and at the same time you have a generous and kind soul, you're going to be a target. And, millions of his fans don't care about anything negative that was written about him then or now. We just miss him and we always will. 🩵

HE was one of the best voices in all times and one of the songwriters in the Pop,Beat aera ! His Lyrics meant something, having a Message änd his feelings at that moment could be felt and sometimes they would exactly Touch one owns. It was and is very helpful to sooth ownes troubles and tears- a great anti-depressant, !
His death wasn't real surprising. He was burn't out and actually his Life was more of a tortur, what could he still achieve.? His end orona death was very sad. But in a way it was his way out of this hell of life with drugs, sexual addiction, loosing his lovers and a way back to a healthy life, possible for him. Unfortunately we have only his legacy of Songs, the Musical, the videos and escpecially his thoughts, hopes and touches of happiness through his Lyrics!,,Thank you Georgie

A wonderful person, a wonderful mind and a wonderful songstress and much more, because she was an incredible talent in everything (arranging, photography, filming, lighting the stage - if you can call a runway that way), living with the musicians, both boss and in partner version and everything related to this world). Your private life is none of our business. He is an irreplaceable love in my life and I am not alone in this thought. He is a wonderful-looking and generous man who helped everyone, but - as usual - he couldn't help himself. A man with a restless spirit and work ethic, who left such a deep mark that no one can ever replace!

George Michael was and is loved he made a video taking the micky out of that policeman, his concerts were packed.
I think the death of Anselmo and then the death of his mother a year or so after ( whom he was very close to) altered the course of his life, not so much the bathroom incident.
I totally agree and then when he and Kenny broke up it really took a toll on George. He seemed so lost and he cried on stage. I just wanted to hug him I felt so bad for him.

I thing that one thing he couldn't let go of besides the things you mentioned was that his father was always disappointed in him and called him ugly. He never had his father's approval until he made money. That just breaks my heart.

George suffered depression it ran in his family on mothers side her brother his uncle who committed suicide.
