Ashley Graham is one of the fashion industry's most disruptive models. She has been on the cover of every major magazine from Vogue to Elle to Harper's Bazaar, and on major runways for brands like Fendi, Etro, & Michael Kors! She is one of the early faces of the plus-size model movement that is becoming more and more commonplace within the fashion industry, and hopefully stays around and isn't just a trend! I often hear from people not of sample sizes that it's hard to dress and hard to find clothing that fits their aesthetic, and I think it's important that someone as well connected and savvy as Ashley shows us what she wears in a week! She provides great advice, shows that the job of dressing isn't always easy, and is really raw and relatable! I have enjoyed each of these Outfits of The Week thus far, but I think Ashley's ability to really go for it, has made this one my favorite!

@@vissennav in making the cut, naomi and heidi klum talk about "how could anyone not tailor their clothes" as they tailor most of theirs for a perfect fit, so it's not exactly a plus size, but a model and fashion thing, as it is their job/lifestyle for what they are wearing to look impecable and they have knowledge on the bdhind the scenes of fashion and know that a fit size, whether large or small, won't fit all people that size the same way or the most favourable one for their body

She says right in the video she buys everything in the very large sizes and alters them down so they accentuate her waist.
She did a great job on the video, in so far as explaining her choices and tailoring.
But she dresses really really really badly. It's absurd! Lol. I know it's all just opinions here, but I honestly think this is some of worst styling I've ever seen!
I like that she goes into the specifics of each outfit with a mix of why she likes the aesthetics and how it's practical for her. Much more personal than videos where they just go "ooh this one's really pretty...and...I like it a lot, so I bought it!" Nothing wrong with building your wardrobe that way, but it doesn't make quite as interesting content.

Not to mention that while there's nothing wrong with building a wardrobe that way, it often doesn't end up being a successful way to build a wardrobe. I like seeing vogue creating videos like this that are a mix of aspirational and practical, I think young girls and women watching these will get more out of it in how they think of their own wardrobes than just videos of "I bought it cause it's cute".

@@carmengrauwels Sorry darling but Hike Converse is to me ugly. Do they flex when you walk or are they stiff? If they don't flex with the foot them it is not good for the feet, I have in the past bought trainers similar and they were stiff as a board,. By the end of the day my feel were on fire so I sent them right back not fit for purpose. I am thinking of getting the The Converse Chuck 70 by which is the original sole not the cheap modern day crap and they come with the original rubber ankle disk with the logo on. there is a guy here on YT his channel is Rose Anvil

I love Ashley but I'm not super duper into her looks, bu still appreciated how she explained every little detail and her personality.
I'd love to see more diversity in sizes, on publications like Vogue, and in the stores as well. I feel like the mid/plus size community is often depicted in two separates branches: "sexy" or "happy fat". I'd really love to see more styles variety on big girls!
Yes! Exactly!! For some reason for larger sized women “confidence “ is defined as showing a lot of body….but I always feel like true confidence is wearing WHATEVER you want.

To be honest, as a plus size girl, I find all my jiggly parts adorable and cute. I would bite into them if I was my (so far) nonexistent boyfriend, but you know... I can't bend that way.

@The Year of Dragon It's not loving obesity, it's loving YOURSELF despite the fact that you might not meet society's exact body standards every single day. For example, I don't have much of an ass, but I love that about myself. I'm built to look exactly the way I'm supposed to. If I gain some weight I'm not going to beat myself up because I'm a human and I'm gonna gain and lose weight.

what she said about buying something that fit and not looking at the size is so true. As a person who has yo-yo'd a fair bit with their weight i find i often hold off on buying new clothes because my smaller clothes "still fit" and "they will fit better as soon as i lose 10 pounds". The best thing I did was go buy a pair of jeans that actually fit ignore the size and now feel 100% more confident that something fits properly and isn't crushing my hips, and when the small jeans do fit again I can just throw a belt on.
Yes and not to mention female sizing is never consistent. I can be a small in some brands and then a xl in other's. It's ridiculous 🤨

@@TheStepmonkey well it's difficult as a consumer, because you can't just say oh I'm size 6 in this brand so I'll get size 6 in this brand. I think clothing sizes should just go off of measurements instead of the odd numbering system or s to xl.
Ashley is just so intelligent and knows how to style a piece. Point, blank, periodt. If only plus size women were given the platform, we would see so much more creativity in the industry.

My favorite part of the original video is how much she's hyping herself up, and how she's made her clothes her own. Whether others love our style or not, we deserve to hype ourselves as much as Ashley does!!! Self love is good!!

I just think it's great to see someone with legs/hips/booty like mine. I hate to say it, but sometimes being plus sized or even just XL forces you to create your own sense of style and be mindful about it. It takes effort even to just balance everyday pieces.

When I was working as a sales assistant, one of the most common things women would ask for help for, was to find a nice dress for a formal occasion that would still allow them to breastfeed their baby. I loved assisting women who experienced body changes. It was so great to send them out of the door, seeing that they felt confident in themselves, whether it was motherhood, illness, handicap, career change, gender transition, weight gain or weight loss that they were struggling with. What drove me absolutely crazy (and one of the reasons why I quit) was that whenever I had a meeting with the area retail manager, who would participate in buying for the store, he would always talk as if all our customers are skinny 18year olds. When I pressed him on, who he imagines walks into our store he started talking about prices. As if he thought he could intimidate and confuse a young woman with numbers. Sadly in my experience at lot of the people at the higher levels of the fashion industry are people who will never have lived the lives that the majority of their female customers have lived.🐺

I know a lot of people didn’t like her looks but I LOVED most of them and thought they looked great on her!! Plus she’s so much fun and a wonderful inspiration to me as someone who is also a bigger girl.
Not all the looks make sense to me, but her basics-bras, miyaki shorts- really do. I just can't look away from her gorgeous face, btw. Her energy is a delight.

I like almost every piece individually. The way she puts them together is for sure not my personal style, but I super admire how she wears what makes HER feel good. And she clearly feels beautiful in them.
LOVE that she normalized not losing baby weight immediately! I was a size 0-2 w/ a high metabolism pre-baby but it took me 9 months to get back to pre-baby weight!! Love the post-partum tips!

I genuinely appreciate celebrities and individuals in general who are comfortable showing their personality. It matters in the modeling world to be "visually pleasing" and it's a benefit that Ashley is BEAUTIFUL but her personality shines through everything.
But also don't go hating great models for not having a personality. They're also just doing their job and "working with what the gods gave them". Some of them might simply be more reserved because at the end of the day we are all human.
From this series so far, Ashley is my favorite! She keept it real, I love how she talks about each piece, the tips for a good fitting and how she mix basics with more interesting items, its ok to have fun with clothes and take risks. You can see that her clothes are functionals for her rol but also to make her feel good about her self.
I've never seen a video of Ashley Graham and I have to say, I love how articulate she is. She has an incredibly soothing voice.

While I might not like every outfit, I like the thought she put into every look. And that this wasn't just a look book but an insight into her shopping philosophy with advice that maybe we can't replicate in terms of designers, but in terms of practical policies
Her style doesn’t really match mine but I LOVED this vogue 7-day video because it’s the first where you can actually see the persons personality. She seems so sweet and fun and she wears the clothes not the other way around

I’ve always loved AG since I first saw her coming out on the runways as a high fashion plus sized model. She’s just so real and down to earth and just such a great woman to look up to. Exudes inner and outer beauty
As someone that is plus size i really do appreciate you being able to critique all the looks in a very constructive way but also being so empowering and having body representation, will definitely have to think about tailoring pieces that i want to feel the most comfortable in. Also that last look was absolutely stunning and her confidence about it was truly inspiring, also i would die for the Vivianne Westwood bustier!
I don't think he reviews someone's fashion choices as much as their personalities. It's not just the superficial, flashy, trendy stuff he's focused on. He's more in to meaningful fashion. I love that!!

This is one of my favorite videos you’ve done! I love your commentary, and especially love the level of familiarity she has with her clothes, and that she’s willing to mix high-low beautifully and wear what suits her body instead of pushing a size. Stretching boots, now that’s a really great tip! I never leave comments, but I just wanted to say thank you for your insight!

Ive heard her use the term "curvy model" rather than "plus size" because of what it implies.
Curvy and plus size are 2 different categories, she fits both, but there are non-Curvy plus size models (although they are rare) and non-plus size curvy models

Green is a hallmark of her wardrobe. Her take on fashion is a common philosophy of the 40s & 50s where men and women had access to tailors because suiting was common in day wear. Men and women alike can take from this video is getting into tailored clothing. Rule of thumb: if a piece is at least 2 sizes too small, then you can definitely buy it. My mom has had me sew modesty panels into high slit dresses of hers for personal comfort. Her philosophy is great and her approach to texture is interesting, with guidance; she could really stir up the fashion world.

Not the point I know, but the modelling industry makes me really uncomfortable. I understand models are meant to look a certain way to sell the product, people are more likely to buy something if they, whether consciously or not, want to look like the person who's wearing it, but, telling someone that they simply cannot be considered attractive or beautiful because of their body type or facial features is so toxic. Having plus size models should have always been a thing. It should not be a debate. It's just not true to say that a person can never ever be beautiful because they are a certain weight. Why are we just figuring this out?
