Yeah, I hoped they make a big difference between PC and consoles instead of downgrading graphics in whole versions. Shit.... but it still looks fun enough playing though.
stuntmancr3w Nah it was pretty disappointing, I've learned not to hype games too much :/. Even MGSV was a letdown which used to be my most anticipated game. Life is Strange is the greatest game I've played in years and it was a total surprise. SO much feels.
Gatsu AMEN! But I never gave life is strange a shot but i might have to. Bloodborne actually makes up for everything bad fromsoft ever did. Damn good game, but beware of DS3
Dark Souls isn't even in the same league as Final Fantasy either. If you're not buying FFXV, then I simply feel sorry for you, that is all. FFXV isn't even considered a FF in my perspective. It's action rather than turn-based. Dark Souls isn't going to make a game as good as Square Enix's.
this game releases in march 2014, there are many changes the game can go through before then look at the e3 demo's from june 2011, the game had a slightly difference interface and even weapons had different animations. in four months we had the game we all know and love.

I can't wait for this game. My only hope is that they nerf magic a little. To me it felt a little bit too op in Dark Souls when you got the best spells you could one- or twoshot many bosses and pvp was frustrating sometimes against the magic users when they use spells that annihilate you or that you can't dodge very well.
Yeah but I'm a tank so dodging ain't easy for my play type but when I discovered how useful vow of silence and magic barrier are I turned the tables against mages.
Am I the only one who is really impressed by the cloth physics on the armor? It is some of the best I've ever seen in any video game, and I think it really does add a lot.
I think it will be like starting classes from original dark souls. It pretty much determines your starting kit but you can do whatever you want from there.
Absolutely! I think DkS is one of the most delightful looking games out there. It doesn't have to be high res, crisp and clear to be amazing. You just need good art, and DkS and DeS achieves this. It creates a fantastic atmosphere. Gotta love The Souls series.
No, games are produced in developer kits which are always ran on a PC, but the engine is always designed for a platform. I should have been more clear, the engine is designed ground up for the PC.
I am a Souls fan, loved Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. One thing I enjoyed about Dark Souls was having to read item descriptions and piecing together what exactly was the story behind the game and listening to npc dialogue. The lore helped create an even darker atmosphere with endless possibilities. I hope DS2 has the same concept where we players hunt for clues and put our spin on what the story could be. It was like being a detective,i guess you could say.
The sorcery class is ok but to me where the game really shines is the melee combat. There's just nothing like that visceral feeling you get from a successful parry or backstab. Loved the original and have high hope for this iteration. Here's to broken controllers and shattered dreams, may they live on forever.
Cloth, new shadows, the weapon swings reacting to obstacles and better animations in general. Yet to be seen if regular human models and skin are improved but I'm pretty happy with what's shown.
maybe. have you watched the class reveal? it surprises me how they roll so fast with such heavy gear. of course it could maybe be just for demonstration purpose
Considering that I'm from Brazil, being compared to an english teacher really comes up as a compliment to me, a guy who learned english by playing pokemon and watching subbed movies.
Apparently, according to some people playing the demo said, it will be based on weight. It appeared as the character with heavier gear rolled less far, and had less invincibility frames. Now, they said it looked like there were none at all, but faster characters should get more. It's hard to say playing an unfinished game ofcourse. And these frames are like 1/30 of a second, so easy to miss.
Did anyone else notice that the hollow things from 4:40 onward appear to have the bandit's knife. There is a screenshot as well depicting the hero with an axe and two enemies, one with the bandit's knife (possibly). I can't be sure, but if I'm correct i didn't notice a bleed bar pop up from the one hit the player took during the engagement... thoughts?
The thing is that Dark Souls is no ordinary RPG. In most RPGs the enemies scale in strength with the player and rather than upgrading relatively balanced weapons you simply find ones that are progressively more powerful. In Dark Souls the difficulty of the area depends on the area and your skill as well as your preparation for said area. As a result, you should expect that it will break the average conventions of the RPG genre, including that of a hard final boss.
Something I'm wondering about: the warrior drops down from the ladder by the bonfire. This shows that you can drop down from dangling ladders, but it seems a bit silly because you can't get back up to the bonfire.
I don't think people realise that the "classes" were just made for e3 in order to show off the different weapons and play-styles. In the final game it will be just like in dark souls where you can craft your character whichever way you want.
They said that it might be released in march. I believe that is relatively close to the release date of Elder Scrolls Online, but I'm not too sure. It's supposed to release in spring next year.
I actually just found out about this game about a month ago. It's all i've been playing sense, im actually pretty glad that it took me so long to find, becasue I get to play the game, then the dlc's then have the 2nd come out soon after
This is actually a good idea. Tank classes got a little OP in Dark Souls due to poise being added to the game; I think what you suggested could be a good way to balance it out again.
i have 2 arguments to tell that dark souls 2 is a sequel: -estus flasks: an undead favourite; are directly bound to the firekeepers and the bonfires, wich were created by gwyn when the flames started fading. must be after the curse of the undead - 03:02 you can actually see something that looks like the soul spear and soulmasses, wich were created by logan, a undead mage
no i doubt it. its probably just like in Dark Souls 1. the different classes are set to improve in those abilities but im sure you'll still be able to variate your levels to your own likings.
Totally agree. Well, any game is like that. Take time to learn your character's strength and enemy's weakness. Dark Souls just make it brutally important for players to do that and it is so rewarding at the end. I am glad that the new directors keep the essences of Souls series in Dark Souls II. I can't wait for its release in March 2014.
The devs said that Gwyn was going to test the players skills, no matter what build the player had. In the end, he was easy because the player can just perry/riposte him to death, and not because the player is incredibly strong or skilled. I think the fact that the player reached the end is a good enough proving of their skills, but a final boss that put it all to the final test would have been the icing on the cake. Instead, you get an old husk of a god with predictable attacks.
that dual swordsman looks fucking badass. i think i might have to pick him for my first playthrough but knowing me he'll end up with stats all over the place
Also i noticed that the Sorcerer used Pyro spells or magic. I think this means the Pyro is gone, which i dont mind, as this means pyro will now require stats which i really like. Also, i know i go on, but the Normal Knight guy was where the demo for the deaths was. Although the symbol on the top left was gone and it seemed like it was in ruins, suggesting the time difference. And the way he drank the estus. Praise the Sun.
It's not all dark and gritty, it has some really beautiful areas. My best advice is to be cautious but don't hesitate. Dark Souls rewards the brave but not the careless. Oh, and don't get complacent, ever.
I saw in another interview that every character starts at 0 and you spend points where ever you want, your class becomes defined by your points and your weapons and armor.
What if someone is new to the game and doesn't know what you get from a build/class. The entire mechanic of letting every class barley do anything is because then there aren't restrictions later on in the game.
Because pyromancy from catalysts were gone a long time ago before DkS. Quelana later became the mother of Pyromancy (without catalyst). Also, the emphasis in DkS 2 is on Dragon's, A LOT of Dragon's. And Dragon's in DkS where almost extinct, except for the everlasting dragon, gaping dragon and Seath who betrayed (and killed) all other dragon's. (not really counting the 2 undead dragon's). There are more points leading to a prequel, go read/watch some DkS lore and you'll see why :)
The physics on the armor/cloth is awesome. I wish we had that in Dark Souls. Also the style is very cool. Hopefully the capes are a separate equip. I can already tell there going to be a Tomb of Giants re-make in the game. I have never been more excited. I cannot wait, especially with more Pc support.
No, and I have no idea why you would think that. In fact Dark souls 2 doesn't even have starting classes, your starting character is completely customizable. They're giving us more options, not less. This is exactly the same as the e3 demo for DS1 where they just set up a bunch of custom characters do demonstrate various play-styles. Try thinking things through a little before you make a big deal out of it.
And now we will never see this level of graphics on PC because of the damn old consoles. Shit.
Yeah, I hoped they make a big difference between PC and consoles instead of downgrading graphics in whole versions. Shit.... but it still looks fun enough playing though.
try gedosato mod. it gets your the original e3 lightning. and just wait for ds2fix
Tipical Pc pig
And you are obviously a console peasant.
Be wary of liar.
Even Scholar of the First sin isn't exactly like this.
Seph Imaru eh :-(
it is NOTHING like this, rather, the original is closer to the reveal
sigh....i wish we got this version...i mean come on...the PC can easily handle this, and to be honest i think the consoles can too at a lower res
Install this and it looks like how it looks in this gameplay:

They should've put Yui in DS3. He would be a nice replacement for Patches The Hyena.
The shields for the warrior and also the temple knight are beautiful. The detail they put in these games is subtle but excellent.
This game is gonna be best ever, it looks so amazing! Gonna play the shit outta DS2 :D. I think I'm prepared to die.
i'm prepared to buy!
"I am so so sorry" the doctor.

I hope you play LiS :D, if you like emotional stories it gonna blow your mind.
I feel like a little kid again. So excited for this game and unable to wait a year for it. FROMT SOFT PLZ
I want DS2 on Ps4 :(
At last you get Infamous Second Son.
Fantasy Fangs But Infamous isn't Dark Souls :(
At least you get Final Fantasy XV. It's wayyy better than DS2 (if you don't mind JRPG's that is)
Fantasy Fangs Final Fnatasy isn't even in the same league as dark souls.
So is this running on the 360? I hope we don't have same framerate problems like on the first game.
Yui just looks like he knows he's making false promises in this video lol
+Jared Lucus he is
this game releases in march 2014, there are many changes the game can go through before then
look at the e3 demo's from june 2011, the game had a slightly difference interface and even weapons had different animations. in four months we had the game we all know and love.
dat stamina bar
Some of the best character designs I've seen yet in the series, both for NPCs and the player character. I can't wait.

This guys isn't spamming you guys this enb is actually really good.
*****
Link isn't broken, the user took down the mod from the Nexus.
i too felt that way. ;( but the intricate part of knowing what the storyline is makes you dive into the game further and further.
I can't wait for this game. My only hope is that they nerf magic a little. I just appreciate that capes will be involved.
Dark Souls 2 the downgroud of death.
I just cant wait for both.
Am I the only one who is really impressed by the cloth physics on the armor? It is some of the best I've ever seen in any video game, and I think it really does add a lot.
I hope they go back to the blue colored targeting reticle from the previous ign 12min gameplay demo from a few weeks ago. I like how it looks
I think it will be like starting classes from original dark souls. It pretty much determines your starting kit but you can do whatever you want from there.
It MUST be!

Maybe it's just me but I'm digging the animations on the flowing cloth hanging from the characters and the enemies xD
maybe. have you watched the class reveal? it surprises me how they roll so fast with such heavy gear. of course it could maybe be just for demonstration purpose
Considering that I'm from Brazil, being compared to an english teacher really comes up as a compliment to me, a guy who learned english by playing pokemon and watching subbed movies.

Still haven't completed Dark Souls but I haven't stopped trying. Cannot wait for the sequel omg.
i prefer the old backstab animation. it wasnt fancy, the enemy actually got stabbed, it was straight to the point and got the job done.
2:00 Coolest backstab ever!
What he ment was that in Demon's Souls pyromancies were sorceries as well and could be casted with a catalyst...
he didnt have a shiled and a torch, he had a torch in his left hand and a staff in his right.
Starting armor looks so sick I wana use it all the time
It probably looks faster because the animation is really smooth now.
Did anyone else notice that the hollow things from 4:40 onward appear to have the bandit's knife. There is a screenshot as well depicting the hero with an axe and two enemies, one with the bandit's knife (possibly).
I can't be sure, but if I'm correct i didn't notice a bleed bar pop up from the one hit the player took during the engagement... thoughts?
I never pre order games, but the temptation to pre order this game is unreal! Knight looks awesome
The thing is that Dark Souls is no ordinary RPG. I would say that fog ring+ highly upgraded bow with 900 arrows is one of the most OP setups in the game..
dark souls i got in dec and love it more than any recent game i have played
I don't think people realise that the "classes" were just made for e3 in order to show off the different weapons and play-styles. In the final game it will be just like in dark souls where you can craft your character whichever way you want.
Oh, that Dual Swordsman.. I cannot wait.
I had the same fear, but Rurikhan actually restored my faith for this game
Those fabric animations are pretty rad.
Dark Souls was awesome. the look on my friends face when I showed the achievement for beating it was priceless.
I think that they added fire sorcery, like the witches of Izalith used to preform. No telling if they still have normal pyro gloves or not.
Oh my god that halberd and axe moveset is awesome
They said that it might be released in march. I believe that is relatively close to the release date of Elder Scrolls Online, but I'm not too sure. It's supposed to release in spring next year.
OMG the new armour looks SO SICK! I love the flowing cloth feel, a win for graphic fidelity!
This game looks so f'n good. The lighting and movement is almost flawless.
I can't wait for this game
Been gaming for 25 years ....Dark Souls is easily in my top 5 games ever.
you can also have 3 weapons equipped in one hand now, i wonder what it will be like in the finished product.
I'm super hyped for this game. I started a challenge playthrough of DARK SOULS
I actually just found out about this game about a month ago.
It's all i've been playing sense, im actually pretty glad that it took me so long to find, becasue I get to play the game, then the dlc's then have the 2nd come out soon after
Dark Souls is such a beautiful combination of otherworldly dark fantasy and addicting game mechanisms. There really is nothing like it.
NG+7 aswell with the calamity ring, dusk crown ring and broken sword hilt.
its coming to pc,ps3 & xbox 360 for sure. idk about a release on ps4 and xbox one later, maybe.
The model for the sorcerer character looks great.
This is actually a good idea. Tank classes got a little OP in Dark Souls due to poise being added to the game; I think what you suggested could be a good way to balance it out again.
that back stab looked amazing
Class doesnt restrict anything in dark souls. you could start as a warrior and still cast spells
i have 2 arguments to tell that dark souls 2 is a sequel:
-estus flasks: an undead favourite; are directly bound to the firekeepers and the bonfires, wich were created by gwyn when the flames started fading. must be after the curse of the undead
- 03:02 you can actually see something that looks like the soul spear and soulmasses, wich were created by logan, a undead mage
hey guys did anyone else notes that the ladder is shorter then the first gameplay?
no i doubt it. its probably just like in Dark Souls 1. the different classes are set to improve in those abilities but im sure you'll still be able to variate your levels to your own likings.
And I want basic maces that aren't tiny
Looks absolutely amazing. Love Dark Souls and am really looking forward to this.

This & Dragon's Crown will probably be that last two current gen games I care about.
I cannot wait 9 months !

Instead, you get an old husk of a god with predictable attacks.
Did you think that they perhaps changed it up a bit?
For noobs or general players, a starting class can make a big difference.
that dual swordsman looks fucking badass. i think i might have to pick him for my first playthrough but knowing me he'll end up with stats all over the place
Don't quote me on this, but I think it's because the leveling system has been adjusted to where choosing classes does matter this time.
Praise the Sun.
yay the staff is used in spell casting ! looks badass
Am I right to assume that a backstab is initiated by actually getting in a hit in the back first? That is a good design.
It's not all dark and gritty, it has some really beautiful areas. My best advice is to be cautious but don't hesitate. Dark Souls rewards the brave but not the careless. Oh, and don't get complacent, ever.
Wasn't sure about purchasing dark souls but after playing it really has become an addiction its a grind game rpg
I saw in another interview that every character starts at 0 and you spend points where ever you want, your class becomes defined by your points and your weapons and armor.

love the sorcerer . fav class to play with and now pyromancies looks like it can be casted similar to demon souls with the catalyst again
ICHIGO'S BANKAI COSTUME AT 4:40 !!!! GAME LOOKS BEAST!
March 2014 ... well, now I know where I will spent my whole 2014 year ;) and I bet not only I.
Pretty sure the PC version has sold more than both the ps3 and 360 versions considering its on sale for like 4.99 on steam a lot of the time.
I hope magic still works the same, so when you're in trouble just roll into it. Because that sword spell looked pretty strong.
This is the type of combat style Elder Scroll should look at. This is epic.
the dual swords man is going to be insane for me as i was playing without using shield in pvp and in the game

No it's only for pc ps3 and xbox 360 since the developers said the want to release it as early as possible
