For english people. This video is for fun nothing else. Serge , the bike pilot, says the bike is better because the road is just little turn left right left right... So generaly the bike has not to turn.
sounds easy. A car has more traction and stability of 4 tires, especially on roads with dirt and grits, so traction is more unpredictable for a biker. Turns are meaningless on a biker if the 1 of the wheel loses traction.
@@bennylava8717 A bike have no chance if you really turn. But on "chicane" (in french) , I mean flip-flap or jump (a car "can't" jump because it is very difficult to manage the high-low front-rear wheel ). A car can't make "motocross" but a moto-gp bike is "slow" on F1 tracks. Here , it was for fun and not touch the bike of course. In fact Serge was a very good pilot which was not really interested by race because it is so difficult. But he can (in the past) destroy any non professionnal pilot.
This video has been made by Moto Journal, french news paper. The pilot of the bike is named Serge Nuques (great rider, great humor. Also known as the Knight of Groland). Serge Nuques is well known by french bikers ;) I dont know the car driver ^^
yes, with the difference in inherent stability, particularly over rough surfaces and corners, I thought that the wrx would win. 1/ higher top speed. 2/ better cornerting speed in the rough. 3/ the Yamaha is only a 450 endro.... still, that guy can ride!
I have strait line raced on gravel a 1999 CR500 (recently rebuilt), 2006 KTM 525 EXC, 2002 XR600 with Honda's EXUP Kit (actual displacement 630cc), 2006 CRF450, and Nothing has beat me yet on my 2006 WR450F. My only modifications are the exhaust - Pro Circuit T4, carb rejetted for exhaust, emmisions removed, YZ throttle stop added, and High RPM ignition retarding removed. This bike has crazy power, and few 450's - if any, can put it to the ground so well!
The YZF is the quicker bike, but the WR is geared taller, so its gonna own the YZ in top speed. All thats needed to be done to the WR so it can hang with the YZF is a camshaft change. A YZ cam can be easily found, but its better to get exhaust and intake cam's from Hotcams IMO.
Also just for your own information there are two strokes that run at 50,000 rpm's but they don't run on gasoline. Like a model airplane 2-stroke can run well above 50,000 to somewhere around 55,000 rpm's. I don't know exactly what they run for fuel but it is truely amazing they just don't explode!
Off the line almost any dirt bike or street bike will beat all but the world's fastest cars. The same can be said of cornering with proper tires. That rider was also pretty insane.
Actually I just bought a 2009 wr450f from Escondido Cycle Center and the wr has the same power plant as the yzf but the wr has 2 different CDI mappings aka computer mappings it has both the wr and the yzf mappings, first thing thumper talk forums suggests you do is snip the grey wire in the CDI box which gives you the same mapping of the yzf then you take the air box baffle out also trim down the throttle stop all of which the yzf doesn't have to restrict it and the wr weighs 272 lb the yzf 238
A four-stroke puts the power to the ground in all conditions because of a large amount of torgue all the way from the lowest rpm's building torque and horsepower all the way through the rpm's to maximum horsepower at around 13,000 rpms depending on which four stroke. By the way a CR500 only revs to about 11,000 rpm's. A YZ450 will revs to about 14,500 rpm's before hitting the rev limiter. FYI if u didn't figure it out, I ment 10,000 rpm's on my previous posting for when a 500 drops off.
@Nosdmg It's also not a WRC spec car, it's a group N car. Which beleive it or not is not much more powerful than a stock STI. but either way a fun race to watch.
I said "slide" not "drift." If you watch rally driving on dirt, they go sidesways through the turns becaue other wise they'd have to slow down to take the turn so the back wouldn't slide out. Some people call that driting but it's more or a powerslide to me. Same goes for asphalt driving. Sliding through turns would keep the momentum of the car going rather then braking, slowing the car, to make the turn. But of course it's not through every turn, just turns where it would apply.
this is cool, that bike rider is amazing! the bike would have the wrx on pickup but to take crns that fast pulling wheelies is just talent plus. the wrx sounds sick as on the truck getting unloaded, im in awe of the skill of that rider though, he was playing behind that wrx at the end while the car was working hard...
I've only been riding and racing bikes for the last 30 years, so what would I know. Having raced, tuned, and built both 250 two strokes and 450 4 strokes I must not know what I'm talking about. Personally I prefer a 2 stroke, but this is an environment where a 4 stroke 450 kills a 2 stroke 250. 4 stroke 450 = close to 50hp. 2 stroke 250=35-40hp. If you're not in tight corners or whipping freestyle tricks, who cares about that inertial force, it actually helps in this kind of riding.
@sonny0986 "Learn some better English" was not actually the complete sentence. My sentence, in complete, was, "Learn some better English if you're going to criticize its people ;)" Please quote me correctly if you're going to critique my choice of wording. I suppose you are referring to me using the word "some". I was simply stating that he needs just to learn some English, not be an English professor at a prestigious university. "No harm intended to you =)" uses poorer English than what I said.
True you are right, when it comes to power per cc a two stroke wins. And true that a two stroke fires at twice the rate per cycle. This is exactly why they basically are letting 4 strokes compete with twice the displacement. If everything were equal meaning rpm and fuel-to-air ratio a 125 two stroke would burn fuel at the same rate as a 250 four. So I basically think we are on the same page in our thoughts.
@kfreakinc is very possible...they are french...anyways cool car! shame the insurance for the WRX or STI is going up even more! making it very difficult to live with it if you are under 30
@koobsw Rally cars should be much faster in the straights with a much higher top speed, the big advantage is the bike takes off and stops faster, cornering they should be about the same but the bike can brake later and then get up to speed faster out of the corners.
Hmm well I wasn't really thinking about pure dirt, I guess maybe that's tougher...but personally I think I'd have more difficulty on a supermoto than a supersport. Just from my perspective...
So if we are to compare a 125 two stoke to a 125 four, sure the two stroke would win because due to the small displacement of the engines and minimal power of both the two stroke and four stroke wheel spin and traction is not an issue. Meaning you can keep the engine in the sweet spot of the power curve or band on the two stroke without excessive loss of traction. Two stroke wins
that left/right turn on whellie its just beautiful
Can't get enough of that corner wheelie...magic.
The language of braap is universal, no translation needed.
guy in the subi: "i got this shit"
guy on the bike: "four wheels? i only need one: (pops wheelie)
Genial cette video, et les pilotes sont pas mal du tout surtout que le circuit est sacrément étroit...Merci pour ce bon moment.
That looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Nice matchup.
Rally WRX vs 450SM is the best video ever! Thanks for the share!
I've out ridden many cars, corners and straights but on this sort of track didn't expect the bike to win, gravel, uneven surface etc. Surprising!
For english people.
This video is for fun nothing else.

Lmao thanks

That supermoto rider is insane. Wow. Amazing skills. The driver is ok. He has skills too but nothing close to the supermoto rider.
What kind of skills does that rider have?lol

Milan Stepanovic amaze skills bro, amaze
lol.. even kids do that lol stfu hahahah
Milan Stepanovic Do you ride like that? That's what matters. Not kids. Not the rider. Do you even ride a scooter?
yes, with the difference in inherent stability, particularly over rough surfaces and corners, I thought that the wrx would win.
1/ higher top speed.
2/ better cornerting speed in the rough.

trop du lourd la vidéo !!!!
I love that bike! The sound from the boxer engine in the subaru is sick!!

that was sick as balls when he did the wheelie thru the turn
taking bends the way this guy do on yamaha wow i mean one wheel wow man great run :)
Trop fort la vidéo et surtout le cout de la DTMX. lol
Excelente!!!

Im picking myself up one of those 450's at the end of the year. Oh, Yeah!
Toujours aussi impressionnant ce Serge Nuques !
Wow, 3:04 gave my goose bumps. That was sweet!
Off the line almost any dirt bike or street bike will beat all but the world's fastest cars. The same can be said of cornering with proper tires. That rider was also pretty insane.
Holy sh*t! That rider is insane. Love his style. I wonder what he could do with a stronger bike...
There’s nothing stronger than a yamaha wrx
thanx man! I love that song!

2:52 was AMAZING! woo!
wow, i would be scared to ride a motorcycle like that guy ! thats some serious skill , to be going that fast around curves and such =X
OH no way, nice bloody wheelie around the bend, man hes good.
holy shit! that biker was flying on the rode!
both nice drivers
That is a very nice Impreza - I guess they needed a "little" more then stock abilities against a great bike rider. Nice video, enjoyable.
@Nosdmg It's also not a WRC spec car, it's a group N car. Which beleive it or not is not much more powerful than a stock STI. but either way a fun race to watch.
what a quality video, unbelieveable rider!!
Nice Vid! and this guy on WR450 is fuckin' crazy!!!
holy fack that yamahog work's good! i think i need one of these!
I really didn't expect bike to win. Nice battle though
3:03 the bikes is ridden in an awesome way.... i drive a subaru but the bike just wicked here .
Ça, c'est de la moto !! Il assure le mec.
thank you very much- im really surprised that someone answered- cheers bikers

Great bike riding; Damn , I wish i could ride 1/2 that good!
3:02 thats crazy dude... respect
La roue arrière dans le S, la claaaasse !
genial merci
@fall3n50 It's the GDB, so between 03 and 05 WRX
I have a WRF 450 with a high compression piston and have had the valve timings done. It is quicker than a YZ.
I said "slide" not "drift."

Outstanding amazing control on the wheely for the biker, but I prefer cars myself!
that was nuts at 3:06!

Je sais pas pourquoi, mais quelque chose me dit que le chevalier de Groland adore prendre le dernier virage en wheeling lol
Buenas maquinas
The ammount of skill in this video is too damn high!
Christ they can both drive.... and both skills are ridiculously different.
I've only been riding and racing bikes for the last 30 years, so what would I know. Having raced, tuned, and built both 250 two strokes and 450 4 strokes I must not know what I'm talking about. I can translate the most funnyest part , when at the finish the guy's saying the Yamaha was Stuck in 3rd and got the back weel down
0:21 "All men in France have very small oui oui."
Motor-cyclist is a genius and the Subaru driver is merely very good, that's what won this test.
i still prefer the auto.
More versatility in a car.
More options in a car.
More Safety with a car.
due parole .........veramente bello
Hmm well I wasn't really thinking about pure dirt, I guess maybe that's tougher...but personally I think I'd have more difficulty on a supermoto than a supersport. Just from my perspective...
and weighs alot less? so it be expected that a modded bike would keep up?
@damien1922 he drives the fiesta now
but u can see this vid is old ( 2007)
block was still in the old subaru

what exhaust is on the subaru? are they straight pipes?
@RoscoSnipes Judging by the sound, that's not the 280 hp stock setup. To beat that on the twisties, even the old man knows it's hard!
@CWIREK1516 Yeah he looked awesome!
what sprockets u got on wr? what mods?
3:05 incredible.
yes it is if someone hasn't already replied.
I didnt understand a damn word of that but I could understand the vehicles!
thanks...
