Patio Roof Risers allow for the ONLY code approved and engineered attachment for a patio cover or pergola directly to the house, outside the building envelope (which greatly reduces liability).
The patented, adjustable-pitch design allows Patio Roof Risers to instantly adjust to any pitch roof while maintaining a strong, structural connection.
The whole idea of attaching a patio cover or pergola in this way is to reduce the footprint of the structure on the patio or deck space, eliminating ground posts along the house.
    What's Wrong With Traditional Methods
Tying structures like these into the house is no new feat, however, traditional methods tend to be flawed. It is quite common to see patio covers connected directly to facia, which is not an engineered or structural connection. This method of attachment also limits the pitch of the structure, creates debris buildup, ice dams, limits headroom and restricts natural light from entering the space. A method of attachment that solves the structural issue, is to do an overbuild of the existing roof. This method involves tearing into the roof and tying the entire structure into the rafter system of the house and then re-shingling and flashing everything. This is incredibly expensive and time consuming, typically requiring a professional roofing contractor to be involved.
Why Patio Roof Riser is the Best Solution
Patio Roof Riser was founded by Bryan Marlow, a builder who has worked in the industry for 40+ years. This product is the culmination of years of methodical iterations as he designed and fabricated custom brackets for each job.
Patio Roof Risers are fast and simple to install, elevating the patio cover or pergola, allowing for a proper pitch while not compromising on headroom or natural light. Attaching outside of the building envelope of the home, Patio Roof Risers greatly reduce liability for the installing contractor or DIY homeowner. Other methods would have you cut a hole in the roof and tie into your exterior wall or rafters. We avoid all of that while still providing an engineered connection that can withstand extreme loads and incredible uplift forces.

But how does the void space in-between the roof and the bottom of the patio roof get filled?

A lot of the time this has to do with how far the patio roof is extending up the existing roof line. Also, sometimes it simply has to do with the typical wind direction in the area you live in and where the patio cover is installed, which there isn't much that can be done about. If you don't risk snow / ice buildup, some customers have also installed some 'shielding' to prevent rain from blowing in (just like would typically be done on the other open faces of a patio cover structure).

$185 seems a little steep, is that the price for one?
