Baceprot means Noisy
Voice of Baceprot has been around since 2014. Vocalist and guitarist Firdda Kurnia, drummer Eusi Siti Aisyah and bassist Widi Rahmawati are the daughters of farmers is West Java, which is a rural, conservative part of Indonesia. They were introduced to metal music by their middle school guidance counselor, Ahba Erza. Erza taught the girls instruments and went on to become their band manager. Before Erza, the members of Voice of Baceprot didn't even know what metal was, but the genre has now become a way of life for them. "I found myself in the metal music," says Kurnia. The band has become a part of the thriving underground metal scene in Indonesia.
They have gotten a lot of pushback for playing metal music and for wearing the hijab while performing. They have received phone calls asking them to stop playing their music and they get bullied quite a bit by religious conservatives in Indonesia. They have done several covers, but after doing some research, I have found that they do have their own music as well. We will be reacting to more from this band, including at least RATM and something of their own.

I'll repost my comment for this vid... Hello Rick and Rod, WELCOME BACK! And Rick, so glad that you are still here with us, your story and courage are astonishing! So, since your last VOB reaction they have released their first album, Retas, and toured the US! You mentioned how important their parents were to them, they had a big show in Indonesia just before they left for the US and their parents surprised them by attending. When they were pointed out in the audience, the bass player (Widi) broke down in tears. It was the first time ever that her Mom had seen her daughter play! Music is everything to them, they have stated that it "will always be a condition of our survival."

@@UniversalReactionsOfficial Burgerkil is one of my favorite band. Buŕgerkill won the Golden Globe award in 2013 in London. And become one of the best metal bands all of time. Released by Metal Hammer magazine UK, 21th march 2020. Burgerkill was formed in 1995 in Bandung, West Java. I recommend the song " Killchestra- an Elegy"

@@bw1342 It’s been a rough year, but I’m hanging in there. My dad died earlier this year. I moved my son out to Texas from Oregon. I’m going to be a grandpa in December. Health wise, I feel like we knock thing out and add two new things. I’m still working on walking. I may try to get up out of my wheelchair sometime on the channel. I lost a lot of weight since last year. 100 lbs. hopefully it starts showing on the channel. I should be starting my channel about my health journey soon. I just had three growths checked. One was cancer. My doctor was awesome. He was able to remove it. It took two procedures, but he seems to think he got it all.

I'm really happy that I got to see VOB on their US Tour, and in person they are even tinier and mightier than I imagined! They are warrior angels and bring elegance and grace to the metal table.
