Nobody does pistol tricks with a long barrel Colt. That’s a 7.5” barrel, 13” oal, 2.5lbs firearm. This is an amazing feat that leaves me in awe. Sammy was 5’5” if you’re wondering.
The longer barrels are actually better, for spinning. I had one, and for other reasons, started using 5.5" SAA .45's. They are better for some tricks and things, but the 7.5" is weighted better for spinning. The 4.5" are normally used in quickdraw, as it's extremely difficult to get a long barrel out of the holster immediately. :D
Sammy really loved to compete against friends with fast draw. My uncle Ben Cooper was the first to teach Sammy the fast draw, before he lost his eye in the car accident. Ben went to visit him when he was recuperating. When he got there Sammy was up, dressed, had his gun rig on and wanted to compete. Got to love the enthusiasm.
They dont make superstars like that anymore..you had to have talent in many different skill sets nomatter your skin color.he could act, dance, play drums, piano, and could be his own stunt man in cowboy movies..where do they make em like that now?.. no-where..Rih..to a true WorldWide Hollywood Legend..SDJr.👍🏾
Just because you're old and out of touch doesn't mean there aren't multitalented people in show business today. In fact, based solely on the criteria you listed, actor/writer/producer/director/composer/musician Donald Glover comes immediately to mind
@@christheghostwriter Yes I know about 'Childish Gambino" aka Donald G. .. I have one of his songs on one of my yt shorts.."This is America".. and I'm very much in touch with the entertainers of today.. And i said what I said.. and i stand by it!! He would only be a d-lister entertainer that would only be relegated to doing plays and songs at a local bar compared to the talents of old entertainers of yester year.. Your clueless..
There actually were many freemen of good standing who looked like Sammy during those times. And many who used slave labor as well. Sammy would have had just as many, if not more, problems with his Jewish religion as he would have had with his skin color during those times.
Damn. Not only is that a great rendition of Streets of Laredo, but that line about Chester's limp is a joke fewer and fewer people will understand each day that passes.
@@Pirosbor Sure. Chester Goode was a main cast member from the first 9 seasons of the TV western Gunsmoke, which at 20 years was the longest running scripted series until it was finally passed by The Simpsons in 2010 (several other shows have also since beaten it). Chester was a somewhat dimwitted and accident prone character who had a pronounced limp. Sammy is implying Chester accidentally shot himself, giving himself the limp. I don't think that is actually what happened in the show, but it would fit with his character.
Guns are super fun instrument , target practice is lots of fun it's very very unfortunate criminals and crazy people use it for hurting innocent people

It takes incredibly strong hands to move a pistol like that with the dexterity that he showed. Be careful shaking hands with him.
I am old enough to say I watched this on the TV as a wee kid
I was only 2 years old when you left this world, but you left something wonderful for me to see a couple generations later

Sammy was absolutely amazing! So talented and make it look easy.

Sammy was a true showman, he had it all......
The gunsmoke from that gun smells like history to be treasured.
Amazing
Bravo BRAVO SAMMY !!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So cool. 👍
If Sammy had lived in the wild west He would have been no man's slave
The term "wild west" refers to the period after the civil war, when slaves were already free.

WOOOOOWEEEE.. Sammy
This was live tv too
Actually it probably wasn't live. There weren't very many actual live TV shows back when Sammy did that.
I think he would have been phenomenal if casted in Blazing Saddles. No disrespect to Cleavon Little. He was awesome. Just being hypothetical.

Yeah he was just gun smoking folk 😂
Care to explain?

I just watched him on "Wanted; Dead or Alive"-Two Ounces of Tin. He did amazing gun handling.
Actually that was The Rifleman.
@@petersearls4443 Oops, you are right.
look up "Sammy Davis impersonations" and "Sammy Davis shooting" and see some of his other talents
Um, I'm just gonna say.....wow!!
The original Johnny Ringo!
The Rat Pack had some other quick draw guys in the group also....and Jerry Lewis commanded respect with the iron.
The real colt saa is a heavy gun and to do what sammy davis jr. Is doing its not easy it takes lot and lots of practice
That is very true. Ben Cooper a western actor in the fifties and sixties practiced two to three hours a day to get as good as he was.
AND he was singing like nightingale at the SAME time... wtf... Jamie Foxx is as close as we'll see for a long time.

Fast spinning, control.
