You should make another optimized settings video eventually to cover all the settings considering new settings and changes to performance on old settings.
Yeah, thats a good idea .
@BenchmarKing
No need, use his Optimized Settings video from before and just add those 2 new options and change it with this vid
so they were magically able to noticeably reduce vram usage despite some people saying the heavy vram usage in the launch version wasn't an optimization problem and just the game being demanding as a ps5 game, on my rtx 3080 the game now uses close to 2gb less vram than before on the 1440p high preset, I'm now able to even use ultra textures or go up to 4k high preset without any issues
because people are stupid. The game was even allocating the same amount of vram as the ps5 it was fairly oblivious is was a drag and drop port.
@Hi-P0intHero I blame channels like Hardware unboxed, true Nvidia has been cheaping out on the VRAM amount in their cards but using this blatantly horribly unoptimized game as an example was bad faith and dumb asf
@@fortunefiderikumo I like hardware unboxed but I really dislike how they are pushing the VRAM argument with awfully optimised titles. And yes Resi 4 is a really weird game with VRAM as shown by DF. Like yes we should be getting more VRAM but it's not really fair to say it's an issue when all games tested aren't optimised. I also noticed games like far cry and resi are AMD sponsored titles so it seems they just deliberately try make insane VRAM requirements at this point. Even when it's barely noticeable
@@fortunefiderikumo 👍
Definitely an improvement. That looks about good enough to have launched with
Exactly. Ill never understand the rush in releasing game. People will buy it no matter how long it takes to get released. The developers will still get their money no matter what.
Aún no realmente, media hora cargando, eso no es ni normal...
Hahahahaha
@@Ladioz Developers will not get any money. Everything will go to publishers.
@@Ladiozi think they wanted to release it with the tv series
A significant improvement! Unfortunate that it took them this long to fix it. Publishers should really stop releasing games in a broken state.
it's still not fixed tho
all rushing for a paycheck and a deadline that they made themselves. Take your time with the game and make it good
It feels like developers getting time to finish the product but the bug fixes are post launch.
Actually pretty fast comparing to the norm
@@krspy1337 It is fixed massively from launch
if possible could you also make a video about the new patch for a plague tale requiem that came out yesterday. would highly appreciate it
Thank you so much for doing these update videos. I have a 3060ti and I was genuinely worried I might never be able to enjoy this game because of the 8gb vram. You are a legend.
Just run textures on high theres actually no crashing or issues for going above the limit in the graphics tab
Jedi Survivor patch 4 was released for pc yesterday. Can we see a video about that in the comming days as well? Great content man, keep up the good work!
Waste of time sadly, changed nothing and he will say the same.
@@Zedaso i'm reading mixed messages over on the steam forums. For some it improved performance for others it made it worse. Supposedly GPU utilization should be improved.
I have a low budget system 1660 & R5 2600 and your videos are very helpful thanks friend.
Great seeing devs work hard on their games. As per usual, cheers on covering the update! :)
very good presentation I found it very informative too congratz!!!
Could you get a print of the optimized settings, I followed your video, but I use the translator and I can't optimize well
On my i5 3570 and rx 580 4gb with your optimization guide i got stable 30-60 fps ❤️
I really appreciate these. Exactly what I need.
I gain up to 50 fps more in certain scenarios, but micro stutter is still present. Nonetheless, it's an overall promising update.
What model of GPU do you have? I wonder if a lot of micro-stuttering is caused by the lack of vram (game swapping stuff to accomodate smaller vram buffer).
@@robertr.1879 4090 and 5800x3D. Think it still has something to do with the CPU utilization. It’s miles ahead the release though.
@@vincentkellenbenz7157 4080 with same processor. I hate the stuttering in this game
@@guy2432 4090 and a 7800x3d and the game stutters a lot for my too
4070 ti and 13600k also lots of stuttering when panning the camera
Best part about this patch is fixing loads (for me personally). I haven't timed it but I think my loads are even faster than what you presented here (I have a 5800X and a SATA SSD)
I still use an HDD 💀
@@meuhtalgear I guess that’s fine. SSDs are so cheap these days you may as well at least get a SATA SSD. But HDDs are even cheaper so I mean, meh. To each their own.
@@Bestgameplayer10 well the story is : I told myself I'd change to an SSD once my two hard drives are dead.
so far they are both still alive and well :|
@@meuhtalgear Well they’re not gonna die anytime soon so… enjoy long loads I guess lmao
Youve earned a new subscriber from Spain ;)
Why is my CPU Intel i9 still at 99% even in the title screen? It doesn't show Building Shadows in the corner so I don't know why the title screen needs so much ressources?
My game load forever from the start where there is something like a coin spinning before shader building..plz help
Just when i was about to sleep you dropped this lol
I would love to see a video about the latest jedi survivor patch
So can we get good performance on 3070ti and ryzen 5 5600x on 1080p ultra settings without stuttering or fps drops or textures not loading or low 0.1 lows?
Nice improvements. Maybe the game will be in a releasable state some time this summer.
Great video! Now I just started to reinstall the game and see this for myself. I already got to the late game to the hospital but would be great to restart the game with less load on the system and with greater experience in general. 🐕
I have a 4gb VRAM GPU, so I know I'm pushing it to play this game but this patch has made me gain some 4-7 FPS throughout the whole game. Considering I was playing at around 26-35 FPS before, this has basically made me be able to play the game at playable framerates almost 100% of the time now.
Completed the game when it came out on 5600 - 32gb of ram - 6600xt - sata ssd @1080p high settings. I have no desire of playing through again, but looks like they are addressing my main issues - Long Ass shader compile on launch - and most importantly - loading times and loading interruptions, those were the most distracting during my playthrough. And it's good that they are improving CPU and VRAM usage, while i didn't had many issues with that, this way more people can enjoy the game, if they would to try it now
@BenchmarKing is there a big perceptual difference between native TAA & DLSS Quality?
yes, your frame rates
Can you do a new optimized guide for the game again? They have added new options in the settings.
I covered the new settings in the video.
There is currently no need to create a new optimization guide, but I'll consider making one after they finish updating and patching the game.
@@benchmarking4386 I think with lower usage of VRAM we can use much better graphics preset, so I’m waiting for new optimization video as well!
Anyway, thanks for your work, I appreciate it
@@benchmarking4386yeah give it a few months before revisiting
@@InSpire0429 all you can do is use higher textures if you got left some vram, it doesnt take a guide to click few times.
It's almost like they had a deal with nvidia or amd, hard to tell which, in order to make 8gb cards look bad at launch...
I highly doubt this personally considering AMD has had high GB cards for a long time now. NVIDIA maybe but... I still doubt it but I doubt it less than it being both.
@@Bestgameplayer10 Hence why I didnt state it as a fact. In the theoretical, AMD would have the deal because of their higher memory offerings. Nvidia would have done it to sour and sucker 3060ti to 3070ti owners into an early upgrade.
In reality is it is just a deadline that was too early by about a month.
@@MDxGano I know but I was just stating why I feel like it wouldn’t be likely. But after you further explaining, I could see that.
I got a gaming laptop with i5 10th gen and a 1650 GPU, how much performance will I be able to get?
Keep uploading benchmarks of patched games! You are doing great 😃
Lock fps on 60 improves frame stability and lowers cpu usage.
This is good news. I just hope other games like Jedi Survivor keep getting improvements down the line.
after this update my game crash every 10-15 minutes what should i do ?
What that tells us is that the game should have released 3 months later
Minimum 6 month
Another great video 👍
Nice edition!
Game sure got better performance-wise, although I noticed there is RAM leakage now. Characters hair becomes low quality sometimes. And some other minor bugs are introduced with this patch. All bugs easily fixable, with game restart for now. My hope is Naughty dog keeps on improving.
I can confirm, yesterday began playing a month after the release, the frame rate drops there, but it is at least playable, now passing on the story hotel, here I have a really low frame rate, I do not know what this is about
we are really getting the nostalgic ps3 loading time with this game this is how you know that game company cares about the nostalgic factor
It just goes to show that new triple AAA titles can still be optimized... These companies just wanted to get everyone's money first before they can be "incentivize" to start optimizing their product. Such a sad state that is likely never going to change.
Is it just me that still gets massive frame drop for like about 20fps when there's multiple enemies indoors?
i have a ryzen 7 3700x + RTX 3080 (12GB version) and i'm having high CPU usage and the GPU usage mostly below 90%, does that mean my rig is having bottleneck issue?
yes, I would sell the 3700x and mobo and get at least a 5700x with mobo I don't know if u need a new mobo though.
it's finally time to try it? i have a heavy oc'ed rtx 2070 super and a ryzen 5600, coupled with 16 gb of ram , i play at 1440p
Can the stutering be affected by the fact that the shaders have been reduced so drastically?
Don't think so, on the last patch the game was stuttering for me a lot even after compiling the shaders. The stutters are now almost gone on 1.0.5 for me.
cpu stutters are still present bc of how data decompression works in this game
All hail ReadingthefullpatchnameKing! Great video!
Good stuff, quick turn-around on this newest patch too. I bought and refunded the game in the first week or so, was totally unplayable for me on a 11th gen with a 4070 Ti. I plan to buy again this morning when I get home from work, looks ready to go finally.
it still runs like shit on my 4070ti
So, does it run better ?
@@moorebags1 If you’re not exceeding VRAM, then you have a CPU or RAM bottleneck
@@Bestgameplayer10 no. I can run every other game at 4k max settings. This runs like crap for me at 1080p. The game is far from fixed.
@@moorebags1 considering I have a 5800x & 6800XT I can run this game on High-Ultra at native 1440p with 60-90FPS, I find that perplexing
Pls setting for the new updated ❤
I'd say the latest patches are a big improvement, but this port is still far from okay. Statters aren't that big of a deal now, but they are still present, I had a few crushes and graphical bugs, and the overall performance isn't great. But for me the state of the port has changed from "what a disaster" to "at least it's playable", so that's a start.
Super glad w/my 7900 XTX. I game on Day 1 maxed out at native 4k@60fps while everyone else waits for patches and 🙏 for upscaling 😢😂
Looks like alot of new titles are using more as 8GB ram if you have enough. If not its fine u can still start it with 8GB but with big performance hits.
First haha, love you man
in my system i have ryzen 5 2600x with rx 5700xt and the game on 1080p high stays on ~45 and even dips to 38. I wouldn't call this playable but looking how your 5 5600x runs the game i think i will upgrade really soon
It does give better fps on my crappy 10th gen i3 and a 4gb vram Rx 6500xt (pretty much the worse case scenario for this setup lol).
With mostly high settings bar textures which I set to low, for obvious reason, I got 30-45 ish fps fsr enabled. There's still some parts where it drop below 25fps though, but with such a weak setup I guess it's as good as I can get 😂
Do you think it will improve more in future to play with 1650 at low settings at atleast 30 fps all the times ?
if you are stuck at 1650 and cant even afford to buy a new gpu, my suggestion would be to not waste your time playing video games in shitty settings and start hustling.
The shaders folder used to take up almost 12GB?? Fucking hell.
I mean now 8gb vram cards can play this game and no need to reduce some settings just for stable performance while control vram under 8gb as possible
Atleast my bro didn't repeated the patch versions thoroughly this time!😀
Which settings do you use on your 3060 ti in this video?
My optimized settings from this video : czcams.com/video/eqqgW_7hosY/video.html
@@benchmarking4386 Are you able to play at ultra textures now on 8GB?
I can finally get past 14% on my shaders without it crashing with an AMD 7900xtx
Witcher 3 update just dropped! looking forward to your video!
Man i got an rtx 2080 and it stills run like trash in medium-high settings, and even on very low settings i still get frame drops, they have to work on it soooo much more.
Can my laptop run this game?
My laptop specs are Ryzen 5 4600H, 8GB RAM and 4GB GTX 1650.
5800X3D now compiles shaders in 8 minutes and loads game saves in 10-12 secs, new optimizations seem to love the extra cache.
On my 5800X3D now shaders are done in ~ 18 minutes from 30 last patch
I installed the 1.0.5 and played it for around 3 hours, still encountered some bugs, like textures suddenly switched to other stuff. It happened rarely, but exists.
Does it affect the experience of the original game?
@@k-yo No, it's pretty minor, and happens only rarely. You should have a decent gaming experience.
Stll a lot of work to do on that CPU usage.
Welp, maybe after one more month it will be just right....so far they are on the right track....and with the way they are dedicated to patching this game....i give it until sometime in june where it will be just right :)
Good stuff
It still lags for me with GTX 1660 and Ryzen 5 2600
Now waiting for jedi survivor to be fixed
games starting to look actually good
I wonder if 4K is finally possible with a 3080.
The Last of Us on PS3 was the last console game I bought before I started PC gaming. Its weird to me that the port flopped.
Your coverage is excellent, amazing work indeed. Game is still a tragedy of a port. A polished turd is still a turd kinda deal. Keep up the good work.
Did anyone experienced the game freezing after playing for like an hour?
Thank you for the video. I am glad I waited to buy the game.
Holly shit 23% of the video length is dedicated to the Sponsor, that must be a record.
Do you think 4GB cards can use medium textures now? Before it was a stuttery mess
Bro I’m sorry to say even 8gb of vram is bad now…
If the game was released as it is now, than it would have been a lot better and wouldn't have gotten this much hate. There is still some work to do as my i5 10600KF is still maxed out 90% of the time, but at lease I am getting high fps, no stutters and the shaders actually loaded from 0% to 100% in less than 20 minutes, where on day one it was taking 2+ hours with 20+ crashes.
Well on i3 12100f there are still stutters tho
Honestly i would like to see you test out fortnite. Chech out all the lumen and nanite tech from ue5 and see if there are optimised settings
Hardware Unboxed was definitely bullshitting about the VRAM requirements.
How?
remember you still have resident evil 4
@@Bestgameplayer10 Because now you are seeing lower ram GPU’s (4Gb & 8gb) being able to run the game at lower settings with DLSS. HUB used this game as a touchstone of next gen gaming. These patches prove the game was just badly optimised on release.
@@damonwaian9972 I mean, it’s a glimpse into it really. Somewhat like RE4 too. But I get what you mean. Even then, to run that game at high and up, you still need a GPU with more than 8GB of RAM.
But based on what I’m seeing, the texture streaming rate is the main reason VRAM usage was high more than anything else.
@@damonwaian9972 thats what "next-gen" allows for. You dont have to count each MB of VRAM to use because you have 12GB as a baseline.
You are coming in under spec, so they have to put in far more work they shouldnt need to, if you kept up
Still stutterng for me when panning the camera im running a 4080 and 5800x3d im ready to uninstall its not acceptable, play on ps5 if you wanna play this
In cpu usage i dont any diference but could be just my eyes.
Played it a bit last night. its alright but some areas perform terribly. high preset 1440p FSR 2 and dips to 50's on a 6700xt 5600x 32gb ram nvme. AAA gaming smh.
When It will be finally finished just Let me know
Developers now releasing gtx1060 and 1650 are most used grahics cards on steam
Anyone is using 6600XT with Intel 12400? Let me know your performance please.
Maybe now the game will be playable with Ryzen 5 2600
Because at launch it was terrible i got a lot of stuttering it was not enjoyable at all
I just don't understand why these developers, who surely were aware of these issues dont just delay the release for a couple of months while the optimise the game?
Seen better textures with less vram usage so it's still not perfect or good. It's just better than it was at launch! CPU usage is outrageous for a linear game lol
5600X , 95% usage in game...nice otimization
6 min video, 2 min ad 😂
Everytime I want to take the flamethrower the game freezes...
Seems like a skill issue
@@stickboy8219 yea devopers
When you do the CPU test you're mostly GPU limited with your setup. Change every graphic setting to low and lower the resolution to 720p to see the difference
Some settings have significant effect on the CPU load. When I played through the game, I had to turn all CPU related settings to low to mostly stop stutters and stay above 60FPS on a 5600X
@@matthoward6785 I have 5600X and I was able to use his optimised settings and stay above 60fps
Wth? There's already a patch 1.05?
Noo I Have a Ryzen 1600 1Gen And Its a really good and capable processor They didnt optimize at all they only optimize latest Processors
The Ryzen 1600 Doest utilize the Gtx 1650 it stuck in 30% CPU and 60% GPU
Its stuck in 43 Fps They should really fix it as Ryzen 1600 Is really Good Bang For The Buck Processor
It's still micro stuttering constantly at high fps regardless of performance and CPU usage, it's never smooth.
yeah it sucks so much, data decompression causes that
@@krspy1337 do people just not notice it or what? I'm not seeing many ppl talk about it and are instead praising the patch for using less VRAM only
You likely need to frame limit. Obviously you'd rather be able to run at high FPS, but frame limiting will mostly prevent the games that are choking on CPU from the worst of the erratic frametimes. re: decompression, that might or might not be what's happening. There's less CPU usage overall on this patch, so using less VRAM/sysRAM does not translate into more CPU usage
This game is still no where near the optimization of Uncharted legacy of thieves collection. The uncharted PC game is amazing runs very well. There is literally no stutters to be had with the uncharted game on PC.
For me, performance is still really poor and shaders still take a long time (1hr 40min). My cpu usage is always in the 80-90% and my gpu usage is only around 70%. This probably plays a role but I've got an external 3070ti gpu on a nongaming laptop. Cpu is i7 8th gen. Around 24gb ram i believe. My gpu can run other triple a titles that are more demanding much better that this mess
It's seems to be a step in the right direction but I dont see how a cover shooter with PS3 era bound level design and enemy design could be so demanding.
It is still very unoptimized.
That is not how it works lmfao. The visuals are not PS3 levels and they are what take a huge hit on performance. The ai is also updated. It does not matter that the levels were designed around PS3. They have pushed a ton more detail into them. Sure they still need to optimise the game more as its still got issues but it isn't ever going to run like a PS3 game because it's not a PS3 game...
it's a ps5 game dumbass, but still they didn't optimize it well
