      Cosmic Wakes Do you realize how disrespectful that is to these soldiers? Do you really think this was the message Luttrell and all the other producers of the book and this movie were trying to get across? That we should pity and feel sorry for these guys?
      I am not saying war in general is the answer, but these guys did what they did because they followed their orders like men; nobody made them do anything. They didn't "waste" anything, they lived like men and died like men.

    • @gabrielhorowitz5764

      ***** "Tragic WASTE of life". My point was not about the WAR EFFORT, my point was it is despicable to say these mens' lives were wasted. That's not how we honor veterans who died for their country, regardless of how fucked up or irrational the war itself was.
      I understand you and Cosmic want to get on your soap box and protest war to the rest of us, but this movie was not made with the intention of persuading people of the atrocities of war and to pity and lament those who died, it was made to honor and illustrate their courage and spirit in the face of certain death.

      Amen to that Osama. Mohammad Gulab is an amazing man. I hope he can make it to the U.S.
      Mohammad Gulab's ordeal began in 2005, when Marcus Luttrell and three fellow Navy SEALs were ambushed by Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. A fierce fight left three dead and Luttrell, the only American survivor, with a broken back and several shrapnel wounds. Luttrell credits Gulab with saving his life, as the Afghan brought the wounded soldier into his home and protected him from the Taliban until US reinforcements arrived.

You obviously didn't watch the movie since it was about honoring who these men were and just judged it because there were guns and americans in it.
      Go take your bullshit elsewhere if you are just going to say that this is just propaganda when the movie also talked about the good people who helped Luttrell and gave the reason why they did it.

    This movie was absolutely amazing. I have never cried from a movie, but this one almost got me, especially with the ending. Even though the feeling of sadness was there, it was the feeling of love and gratuity that got me, especially when they showed the pictures at the end. This movie showed the greatest form of love, not just by them laying it all down for their country, but laying it all down for each other. It's a sad movie, but if I had to describe it in one word, I would say it was beautiful. Beautiful, because we got to see the story of these amazing men and there amazing hearts. Great song to end a great movie.

    Lone Survivor is one of the best movies that I've seen lately! This is an intense film, even more so than Black Hawk Down in some ways. You get a clear sense of the panic that soldiers face during battle. The film doesn't glorify war, it pays tribute to courage, integrity, determination and perseverance.The ending left me with tears; it is love that tears down barriers amongst human-beings, no matter the origin, religion, ethnic background, country, language or anything else.

    • @amnscottnn5481
      @amnscottnn5481 Před 8 lety

      G-L Honestly, my best advice is to keep your chin up and make sure you keep that motivation alive that you have right now. In the first few weeks of training, it is going to suck and you may question the reasons for why you joined (most people do). When times are tough, try to remember why you joined. Remember that it's temporary and things will get better as you get used to the military routines. Take it one day at a time, and before you know it, you'll be graduating. But let me tell you, when you graduate boot camp, it will be one of the proudest moments of your life. I still remember it like it was yesterday. And that's just the first step in your military career (apart from the recruitment process). I'm not trying to over-glorify it by any means, but even to this day I love being in the military (USAF). Some other tips I have would be to try to get in good physical shape prior to boot camp, as best you can. Run 3-4 times a week for at least 20 minutes, do pushups/sit-ups almost every day, and eat as healthy as you can. Being in decent physical shape will take some stress off of you during training. And try to get along with the other recruits as best you can, and try to build friendships. This won't be hard. Good luck!

    to the people in 9/11 that they may be safe and that all the families can recover,this fateful day in American history, and I hope all the men and women who are fighting in Iraqi that they may be safe and that they return home to there families in one piece, because without these people men would march over us and we would not be what we are today, we would not have families of our own we would be nothing, we would be history, and in history it shows we were just march upon, so we have to thank these men and women in the United States because they make the ultimate sacrifice, to protect all of us from danger so that we can have families of our and that we can have our own choices and we wouldn't go down in history as the people who got marched upon, we go down as the people who stay together, who fight for freedom so that others may be free, so that people have something to look forward to. Soldiers do not make the choices of going to war. Regardless of the true reason for this war, Those brave men died to give the people freedom from regimes who impose their laws or give those who refuse them death. Guys like this face incomprehensible fears and situations we cannot comprehend. I am english and we get a lot of shit as do america for sticking our noses into conflicts. Yet we do so to provide people with freedom. We are called for "wanting oil" Yet when the world needs us we do not hide, We stand tall and give aid to those who need it most. Right now SAS soldiers are hunting ISIS members in the middle east, Yet still those men are not appreciated. Thank you to all the servicemen and soldiers that fight to protect ways of life that grant democracy and not rule by the end of an ak 47.

    More than a War movie, is a movie about decisions, about what is right and what is wrong. LT Michel P. Murphy (RIP) took the right decision, maybe the consequences were bad, he exposed and put the lives of his teamates in danger, but he finally did the right thing. He took responsability for his acts and sacrificed himself trying to save his team. The other SEALs, take the risk of going for his buddies in danger, assuming the consequences. Finally, those Villagers whom honored a code of "humanity" and protected Luttrell, doing what is right, for me, maybe the most interesting part of the movie, this "Pashtunwali" code of honor, of humanity that save the life of Marcus, and in some way expose the real situation of the country. Finally what Murphy did, what SEAL support team did, what villagers did, is what warriors and people of common sense do in wars, his work, fight for finish this hell as soon as possible, not make wars for win profits, or votes, or impose ideals, or religions or take political advantages, finish a war is for try to save more lifes.

    Guys the biggest message this story can relay is that not all Arabs are enemies. The extremists "Al Queda" are the enemy. Bombing civilian towns is wrong. Those villagers saved this mans life and sacraficed their own doing it. We are all human. Humanity is at war within itself. Just because we fight against an Arab extremist group does not mean all Arabs and middle eastern folk are enemies. The saved this man. They are just people like you and I.
