Well yeah obviously it's fingerstyle bc he's not using a pick but it's also thumping, bc thumping is just one of many fingerstyle techniques.
Thumping is a quick up and down stroke with the thumb.
Usually the thumping movement is a bit more aggressive, almost like a slap that goes through the string, but it doesn't have to be.
Tim Henson even has a tutorial for this song called "How to thump & fingerpick" so clearly that technique is thumping.
I even learned the song to practice thumping and it was super helpful, bc of how much it's used in it.
