As someone raised in Andalusia, Spain, I have to say that many fingerstyle techniques in Animals As Leaders and this new sound of Tim Henson sounds very flamenco-like to me. I wouldn't say he's "creating", I think is "changing" current styles :)

I feel like he’s got that same thing other greats had like Hendrix, where the way he plays and his style of writing is just not heard of before him. He’s influencing the future of guitarists and how they’re going to play and what they draw inspiration from. Seriously amazing accomplishment obviously!

Yeah I'm probably at about 30h and I can play it at about 1/4 this speed decently. And a really sloppy version at full speed lol. It's crazy how much you can improve from one day to another if you just stubbornly get through the part where you are terrible at it. I couldn't hit the first note properly for the first hour and I gave myself a blister.
Last night, it was 2am or so, I couldn’t sleep, so I put this on to mediate. Then it suddenly started to rain and both the rain and this wonderful piece of music sent my soul somewhere else. It truly felt like an out of body experience. Thanks for the unique music, Tim!

@@yungpaperxo thumping is "technically" a bass technique, i dont think it's classically included in fingerstyle and it isn't played with a pick or nails, but the side of your thumb.

Quintuplets are so difficult to make sound good in music givin their disproportionate rhythm but somehow you made this seem effortless and smooth. Impressive is an understatement.
This is why 3 months in to me learning guitar I have alot of inspiration/motivation. Even if I never play this well, it really drives me to keep practicing.
Man I've been playing for about 7 months and i don't think it was the best thing I could have done to start but damn was it the most fun thing to do. keep going.
the music he creates is the type of music I've always wanted to here, but never got to experience until I found him around the time of goat. My ability to play by memorization and by ear was very good, but I hit a wall with understanding and crafting and just couldn't move beyond. But man, you really are bringing me back. I've been searching for an excuse to start over again, and you, my friend, may just be it.
Tim's playing is so phenomenal, I feel like I can only describe it in imagery. I sat on a pony, and it galloped endlessly, past the barrier of my limited perception of this universe, far into the 5th dimension. I became one with the cosmos, spongebob, and all my friends. This sounds like some baroque music, reminds me of the bass viol from Marin Marais compositions. Go listen to "Sonnerie de Sainte-Geneviève du Mont de Paris" / The bells of St. Genevieve. Same progression. Beautiful stuff.
Tim's playing is so mesmerizing you could just listen and watch him all day! I especially love how he is so in tune with what he is playing. He is not playing from memorization, he is playing from the Heart. What you hear is what is going through his mind at the moment. It's amazing what two hands and 10 fingers can do! Excellent!

@Jib I'm pretty sure the nylon you see in this video is an upcoming signature Tim and Ibanez are collaborating on. He used a white nylon last year in his video "Playing my new guitar" and in 2020 he tweeted asking if people would buy a nylon signature if he came out with one.

you can make em sound like slightly tweaked triplets once you get the feel right. Makes it a lot more "normal"
The slaps on every beat give a lot of rhythmic stability, and also **REPETITION LEGITIMIZES**

Great for practicing. Plug into a headphone amp and lose yourself without disturbing the neighbors, and it’s not as fatiguing on the fingers.

That fretboard is sick, watching you play gives the sensation of the strings making a wave motion.
That's the way classical nylon string guitars behave because of the lower tension of the strings, the E A & D really dance around.
Ibanez needs to release these guitars. This and the pink one from your other videos are absolutely gorgeous.
