just watched the doco "Australia: Land of Parrots" and was introduced to the Palm Cockatoo...love them, "HELLO, hows about I 'drum' for you". These cockatoos make me proud to be aussie
Missed out the part where they drum to woo the girl! Tear off branches from trees then tap it in rhythm on the main branch of whatever they stand on, just like Steve was doing.
This PBS Show was FANTASTIC!!! A MUST-WATCH for all Parrot Owners/Lovers! Amazing to see FLOCKS of some 30,000 Cockatoos! That's how they are supposed to live...NOT in our cages with their wings clipped...
I just love the tender sound they make, beautiful contrast to their powerful beaks & physique. BTW, who had the STUPID idea of dubbing australian english with american english? It's not THAT hard to understand, jeeez!
Terri Irwin needs people to sign a petition on the Australia Zoo site to stop mining to save the palm cockatoo and others on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve. Goes to court 29 th May.Please sign and spread the word if you can.
Una maravilla, me ha encantado ver el video que animales tan majestuosos, hay que hacer lo que sea por que se puedan seguir viendo todas las vidas venideras en libertad
I see so many youtube videos with these birds kept in cages in America. They also miss-title this bird as Black Palm Cockatoo instead of just calling it Palm Cockatoo. I remember seeing this on TV, but it was Colin Friels the Australian actor narrating it, not this English guy???
Whats despicable are the videos on here of ppl's "pets" that look like shit....feathers falling out, red patches the wrong color. Yeh, lets get that $10K bird and then fail to take proper care of it....
