I think physically India is a mixture, we have quite strong players who are tall as well as strong and aggressive eg: Gurpreet, Jhingen, Bheke, Jeakson, Rahim, even Bose, Anwar and Mehtab. The attack has to have a lot of coordination so as to team up to score as physically we had Chettri who even if he isn’t tall was even marked properly by WC teams like Australia and Qatar. Current attackers can’t be of his level we need to nurture them to be better. I see Gurkirat and a few others who can bulk up to get to the physicality of other teams. Possession based play is needed and we too saw under Igor that tiki-taka can work for us if we take the correct grp of players. The U-21 who played together were great in it (Vikram batch… Komal, Jeakson, Suresh, Amarjit, Gurkirat, Rahul kp, Rohit Danu, Narendra Gahlot, Bryce Miranda but almost all lack the physicality levels, we need to have proper nutrition coaches and coaches who can physically build these players with positive mindset. I thought of an eg and see Vincent Company (FC Bayern current coach). I am not talking about taking him as a coach but a similar coach to build muscular players. Agility and pace is what we possess. We lack currently in everything so I don’t know how will it happen. We should not always go for the second balls… We will get such players to go for as we have a huge population and potential to go forward. Just waiting for the right coach with correct mindset and just not a vision also efforts to get the things done. Don’t need a coach who blames others for everything. Igor did a great job supported him but the last wc qualifiers were really bad games…. He got the time and players he needed still it didn’t change the results. Nothing more matters. Why do the 21’s are not seen playing much in ISL too??? Mostly as the physicality is a huge challenge and skills are not overpowering the physical battles currently and then they lack game time and game fitness. There you go, a circle is created resulting in young footballers disappearing or playing in lower leagues or getting benched in ISL. I saw Hyderabad fc play quite good football even if they were loosing but they tried till the end and mostly with a young Indian team with just 1 or 2 foreign players. We might be able to find gems from this despair situation of HFC…..
To popularise football in India we should educate football in all the schools students in India.When football fans increase more students come to play football in India.
India has diverse ethnicities and we have all types of physical structure. North Indians from Punjab, Haryana etc they are similar to West Asians and Northeast are similar to East Asians and Southeast Asians. We just need right training and coaching we will have the best mix of physical and technical in whole Asia!!
Yes it has to be a mix that's why I say our playstyle needs to be vibrant and skillful not uni dimensional like possession. It will also have fighting spirit

I am also most concerned about what should be our playstyle. Been thinking about this for quite a while. Have some unique ideas and ways tbh. Will try to formalize them and spread lets see how it happens. But if i had to give an idea its skillful, vibrant, rhythmic, collective teamwork and fighting spirit oriented. I think a mix of this would be the best fit for us. And should hire coaches who emphasize on this.
For me if we have to adopt or be influenced from some football nation then it has to be brazil. Taking into consideration that we played like that earlier as well plus with this playstyle we had a unique identity and most success under that playstyle. Its our best bet to revive our footballing nation.Brazilian coaches will also know how to use a large population, create a culture of skill.
We have to also make a playstyle that is enjoyable for the people and new viewers also enjoy watching to attract more viewers. Ppl are saying spain but i dont agree thats not our style. Brazil is the best fit. But then again we should add something of our own. Not just copy.
We should learn from Thailand to improve our gameplay

The best Coach for India Right now would be either Manolo or Staikos , both have managed to show great intent using Indian players , Even Though Punjab didn’t finish at a good position, they’re second half of the season was amazing , Fc goa dominated under Manolo with the likes of Brandon , Jhingan ,Jay gupta , Yasir , just that jhinghan and victors injury made them fumble a bit

My thought is also same. Spanish, Japanese or South Korean Coach. And develop a style which have passing with quick counter attack with speedy forwards and wingers.
Nope that isn't our style. Just because u like passing style of spain doesn't mean u would want to adopt it. Something which is fit for us has to be developed. More suitable style is skillful, vibrant, rhythmic, teamwork and fighting spirit oriented like brazils approach.

I think a good Spanish coach will be great as Spanish coaches have been in Indian leagues.
But spanish style doesn't suit us.
Our football should be mix of possesion and physicall base because you can not sit on only one tactics ... so we can bring punjabi or haryanvi or uttar pradesh young talent which are physicaly strong so the mix of that good
