Bowman sucked as a GM! He only had the job because of his last name. Dale Tallon built this team. I agree with you. They shouldn’t be allowed back in the NHL. Plus to drop this news on the opening day of free agency is a despicable maneuver. The NHL has no shame!

Anybody who feels differently go back and listen to keith ballard and nick boynton, others on the team and staff knew and even poked fun at beech about the situation after it happened. Pietrangelo is 34, cap hit of 8.8 million and is a UFA in 2027-28. Theodore is 28, cap hit of 5.2 million and is a UFA same year as Marner in 2025-26.
Marner, Lilygren for Theodore and NIck Roy plus picks.. 2x2nd. With JT off the Books, easy to extend Theodore...
Kane is a GOOD/ productive player when healthy. Had this guy been able to play in S.T.F. the Oilers would have won. No one leaves a team where the CUP is within grasp !!!

Pittsburgh Penguins would take Evander Kane I am sure. Kyle Dubas said today that they're still looking "to add either a good, young forward, or take on another trade like the Hayes deal". Meaning Pittsburgh would probably take Kane, if Edmonton adds a sweetener to take him, like St. Louis did with Kevin Hayes. That would be time sensitive though, cuz Pittsburgh is nearly full.

Oiler fans aren't happy about this talk of Bowman being considered for the GM's position. If the cover up of the Kyle Beech incident wasn't enough to disqualify Stan Bowman , his record & reputation is vastly overrated. If Oilers owner Daryl Katz hires Stan Bowman fans will boycott & it will be a public relations disaster. Smh.

If the Leafs trade Marner to Vegas it better not be for Pietrangelo, although it is an okay idea. One problem, hes 34 turning 35. Youre trading a 27 year old superstar forward (with an extension, if this gets done Marner and the Knights would negotiate a contract before hes traded) for a 34 year old D. If this was 30 year old Pietrangelo, fine... but hes not. Pietrangelo is even coming off of a down year, it would make the Leafs D core *so* old (Tanev is 34, Petro 34, OEL 32, Hakanpaa 32, Rielly 30, McCabe 30). Vegas would need to add a *ton* to Pietrangelo for the Leafs to consider it in my opinion.
I think a better target would be Theodore, (also eligible for an extension, could be a double sign and trade) is younger and nearly as good as Petro, and will be better for longer.
Marner + Liljegren for Theodore + Nic Roy + Brisson and a 2025 2nd round pick? Maybe a little more or less on either side but I like this more than Petro.

Leafs still could use Piertrangelo yes older but a great veteran as Leafs want the cup in 2 years. Throw in Kolesar at $1.5 million and this could work.
Kolesar is a big guy Berube type player.

As a Blackhawks fan it was shocking to hear what happened to Kyle Beach and others, and the terrible things that Quenneville, Bowman, MacIsaac, Cheveldayoff and others actively did to cover-up sexual assault and giving recommandations allowing the sexual assaults commited by the sick Brad Aldrich to continue amassing victims. To me, that is NEVER exuseable. I don’t think they should be allowed back until the couragous hero Kyle Beach and the other victims are comfortable with it. If that turns out to be never, I’m fine with that. Yes, these guys did amazing things to get my beloved Blackhawks their first Stanley Cups in my life-time, and to me, I think people should be given second chances, but they should never be allowed to get back into manegerial positions again, IMHO, and yes, I include Cheveldayoff in that group. I still cannot fathom why he was spared, based on what we know about what happened. I’m totally with you, TSH. That was really deflating and disappointing news to me too…

I'm glad coach Q is back in the NHL. Everyone deserves a second chance. He's a hell of a coach. Complete Bullshit! Sorry but it happened to me and a much younger age and my voice worked just fine. 18 isn't a kid and you don't make it to the NHL by yourself. He had plenty of people to turn to. Furthermore, your disappointment cause of someone else did the crime and your upset cause they are not being held accountable. For taking someone's word that they would deal with it, on a player who isn't on the team. So isn't around to remind you. Should have never been suspended in the first place.

@rodneyhickman825 it was the trainer. Was hired by the team, not the coach. Coaches don't hire trainers and doctors, etc, the team does/president of hockey operations/Gm. Coach is responsible for a 23 man roster and if your not on it. He's not responsible
