It works though. Talk to anyone outside the US and they hate and mock this country. So it's not that hard to say the Cowboys are similar since everyone hates and makes fun of them.
Well maybe they really are AMERICA's team
Jerry jones is the problem.Do some research for real
@@mikehand5881He's always been the problem. What other owner do you know is GN of their own team. The guy is an ego maniac.
best time to place a bet is when you have inside tips on who will loose ;) Jerry loves gambling, his own words
Since their last NFC Championship appearance:
• The Stars won a Stanley Cup
• The Mavericks won an NBA Championship
• The Rangers won a World Series
And their biggest rival these days it seems, the Eagles have won it all.
We may get the 2026 World Cup Final!
Those 3 teams also did in 2 years what the cowboys couldn’t do in 29: make their conference championship
The XFL's Arlington Renegade won a championship
The Dallas Wings won 3 WNBA championships
It takes a lot of chutzpah to call yourself “America’s Team” when a team literally named the PATRIOTS has won six Lombardis since the last time you got past the divisional round.
The Dallas cowboys have never made the conference championship game this century
This is what I'm confused about. Despite nearly 30 YEARS since their last Super Bowl appearance, the Cowboys are still the default team for bandwagoners to latch onto.
True and another team like the Chiefs, Ravens or Bills May create their own dynasty that makes it even more of a joke
Granted, the nickname came about in the 70s when the Cowboys were a consistent top 3 team in the NFL and won a few rings
The Cowboys didn’t choose the moniker, NFL Films did with their 1978 highlight film.
But the Cowboys certainly have tried to embrace it.
As my high-school basketball coach would say, "The screws are too tight. You can't win in the postseason if you're afraid to lose more than you want to win."
That's very good advice in all my years of sports I've never heard that some how.
Great quote
Which explains the Toronto Maple Leafs' decades of playoff futility.
@@b-zoneonroku2020No, that’s just being cursed 😂
Well said!
The Cowboys haven't won since 1996. I moved to DFW in 1996. I'm not saying my curse works. I'm not saying it doesn't.

I bet you don't miss those Boston winters anymore.
@@BobHank2 Chicago, actually 😀. But I’ve been in Texas since the early 80s.
The Cowboys have a culture problem first and foremost. They have excellent talent evaluators and drafters, but they dont have a driving force in the team that keeps everyone level and focused. The owner meddles and the coach is often a middle man between him and the players, instead of an actual leader.
They believe their own hype.
Dead on for all of this!
10:28 correction: the packers actually have more since the super bowl they won was hosted at AT&T
Correction it’s both teams have 3 wins he didn’t count Dallas win over Philadelphia there on January 9th 2010 when still called Cowboys Stadium, like it was at Super Bowl 45
@@travismiller4320 confirmed, I had to double check because 2 for both teams didn't sound right.
@@strudelninjayeah I had to also
After that Super Bowl victory, the Packers being undefeated at At&T Stadium is a great blessing 🙌 😂
Tree's laugh of humiliation is the greatest laugh
Their biggest liability is Jerry's ego. It has been ever since it forced him to fire Jimmy Johnson. If he'd swallowed just a little bit of his pride and made it work with JJ... Well, my life as an Eagles fan would've been unbearable as they probably would've piled on even more championships. That team was so stacked, they managed to win another ring even with a head coach actively beefing with their QB. Then it all came apart at the seams, and Jerry's refusal to hire a head coach with a spine is why they've been treading water for decades. Long may it continue. I know I can't say much after my team basically quit after the 9ers game this season, but... we didn't get blown out at home when favoured by two scores to a bottom seed.
They easily win 4 straight super bowls had Jerry not fired Jimmy
Again, when rival fans start feeling bad for a team, that team is in real trouble.
I don't understand what happened to the Eagles this year.
jerry doesn’t throw game losing picks tho 😂
It always makes me laugh when the media buys into the Cowboys regular season hype and then is flabbergasted when they get bounced in the playoffs 💀
It's even worse when the media actively roots AGAINST every other team in DFW. NO ONE wanted the Mavericks to win in 2011. NO ONE wanted the Rangers to win in 2023. Let's not even get into how hockey people still want to asterisk the Stars winning The Cup in 1999. They throw every other team here under the bus while they kiss Jerry's feet.
Every team they beat this year was garbage. Saw it coming the moment AZ spanked them.
What hype from the media? Dallas is constantly labeled a "pretender" regardless of how good theyre playing outside of Skip Bayless, who even as a Cowboys fan, i think is an idiot
The crazy thing is, every Green Bay QB has beaten Dallas in the playoffs and in Dallas
@@honkhonkler7732the AZ loss and the absolute SPANKING by the 49ers was all we needed to see that the Cowboys were pretenders😂
Why do people think that if Dez caught it that it's a slam-dunk-shut-the-door guaranteed victory? You do realize that they would have to give the ball back to Aaron Rodgers with 4 minutes left, right?
Yeah it’s not like he moved Packers with less time than that against Cowboys before…🤔
As a Cowboys fan, I would rather Rodgers tear our defense a new asshole than lose like that.
Oh most certainly Rodgers would have engineered a winning drive. But man, you hate to see the refs taint a game that badly. Except they tend to do that weekly these days.
@@AsiandiskoolI can respect that position. Always better to get beat rather than beat yourself.
That's what always annoyed me. Like you couldn't have your defense make a 3 and out with 4 minutes remaining?
Fun fact for those who don't know... Pittsburgh was given the moniker of America's Team first but declined it back in the 70s
Yup as a Steelers fan , I know there's a few people who hate them but they never say theyre arrogant

The last time they were in the NFC Championship game, Google didn't exist. Think about it, expansion teams, Carolina Panthers have been 4 times and Jax Jaguars (AFC Championship obviously) have been 3 times while the Cowboys have 0 in that time frame. They have 4 playoff wins in 24 freaking years. Brock Purdy has 2 wins after just half of season in his career.
My beloved but goddamn Bengals have made two conference championship games and one Super Bowl since Dallas made the NFC championship.
That really makes you look over your shoulder expecting to see locusts, frogs or some other sign of the apocalypse.
The Buccaneers also won two Super Bowls in that time. Tampa Bay went from having winless seasons in the same year Dallas was dubbed "America's Team", to winning Super Bowls while Dallas forgot how to survive the Post Season. The downfall of Dallas has fueled the rise of several other teams.
Hell the entire NFC South has had more playoff success than the cowboys have since their last super bowl@@SkunkApe407
The Detroit Lions. 0 16 Detroit Lions went to the Nfc championship game before dem cowboys did. I dont think there is a clever enough line to say to explain that!
Correction, Packers have 3 post season wins in Jerrys world. We be counting the 2010 SuperBowl which was played here.
Also, Captain America wouldn't be a Cowboys fan. Steve Rogers is from Brooklyn. No way he'd EVER root for an NFC East rival.

Being a Giants fan, I feel like the opposite of what happens here (the media attacks and tears down everyone whenever possible) happens in Dallas and thats thanks in big part to Jerreh. Inside the Dallas bubble they get comfortable, they get big headed and they stroll into the Playoffs acting like gods who are merely there as a formality to their ascension...and then they find out the other team actually showed up and get smacked in the face. They're always talented but they always seem to play like they're surprised the opponent is putting up such a fight in the playoffs.
May this continue perpetually.
I am a giants fan also and I back this theory 100%. If the giants were ever as confident as these cowboys were in the regular season about a superbowl they may get jumped in the parking lot and they definitely would be verbally berated for 1.5 weeks 10 hours a day on WFAN for each singular arrogant comment 😂 cowboys are definitely in a bubble

1990s- Cowboys own the Packers, Packers own the 49ers (no, the game where Jerry Rice got away with fumbling the ball doesn't count)
2010-20s- 49ers own the Packers, Packers own the Cowboys
Edit- if Dez caught it, Rice fumbled it
Even if the 49ers had beaten the Packers without controversy in 1998, they’d still have lost three of four.
The Niners and Packers are about to play each other in the divisional round again speaking of which.
Since 1996 There have been:
18 different Baseball clubs have won the world series (Excluding Back to Back Champions, and teams that won it since 1996)
11 different NBA teams have won the championship (Excluding teams that won it back to back and teams that won it since 1996)
12 different teams have won the superbowl (Excluding teams that won it back to back and teams that won it since 1996)
15 different teams have won the stanley cup (Excluding teams that won it back to back and teams that won it since 1996)
16 different NASCAR Drivers have won the Cup series championship (Excluding drivers that won it back to back and drivers that won it since 1996)
And plenty more have gotten into a semifinal round at least once, even my Mariners have done that twice since then.
TV show Dallas gave them false sense of superiority as well especially since the stadium was used in the opening credits
I view being a Cowboys fan like buying a lottery ticket every season. In order for the ticket to win, i need all 20 numbers to be the same, and every week i scratch off and reveal a number.
I know that the first 17 numbers will match, but the last 3 will always be different. I enjoy looking at the numbers match up, but i know not to get my hopes up.
Would it be cool of they did? Of course. But im not gonna to believe it till it happens
Mark Sanchez has as many PO wins (4) as Tony and Dak combined
The problem with this team--as there has been for a LONG time--is that they don't know how to work together and be on the same page when it matters the most. Too many times have individual players and coaches been having excellent seasons stat-wise, but also making their share of boneheaded decisions in-game preventing them from winning more and achieving their full potential--and seemingly only coming alive when the adversity is minimal and games already out of reach. This is 100% a culture issue that starts with Jerry.
I’m not a cowboys fan but my whole family is and it is truly brutal watching them watch the cowboys when I’m home. 😂
Welp, just got the B/R notification that they're keeping McCarthy 😂
That Dez catch happened 5 years after Megatron had that same ruling, and since the Calvin Johnson incident I clearly remember every broadcast hitting the same point. "You must maintain position when going to the ground..." and it's clear Dez poses's the ball while going to the floor then he losses position when he hits the floor. It's not even a thing, he didn't complete the process.
5 YEARS after the Megatron, people act as if Dez non-catch was a new thing.
The Cowboys front office, and many of their fans, are still in denial.
And by “Cowboys front office”, you mean Jerry.
Me being a lifelong Cowboys fan know we can draft a #1 QB get a coach like Belichick and still loose in the playoffs.
I stopped blaming the players for our problems, I'm even at the point where it doesn't matter who we put in as coach solves the problem. You stated it best. We're a great regular season team that has no identity.
Same thing too with me being a Rockets fan
An owner who micromanages the crap out of everything. He's even the GM too. You can't micromanage people at a normal job, it fucks with everyone, so why do it with billion dollar football franchise?
That's a problem that isn't so easily solved.
I've been saying it for years. Ownership.

When people idealize a thing, they can never see its faults. You *idealize* this sport. Then the order goes The Franchise, its coaches then the players. So yeah, everyone looks only to _which players_ to blame when things don't go as planned.
But cripes, did you Not Notice ANY DIFFERENCES in the play-calling from last year? Did none of you notice _why_ Dak threw far fewer INTs?
No, because answering those questions requires looking at the coaches & the franchise that hires them with a critical eye & THAT is something y'all will continue to refuse to do, ensuring this disappointment continues 'cause y'all don't wanna figure out how to resolve it.
Fun fact: The Miami Dolphins last playoff win is more recent than the Cowboys last appearance in the NFC Championship Game!

The failure only solidifies the delusion
What's not talked about in the Dez Bryant game is how the Packers drove to the Red zone at the two minute warning and took knees to run out the clock. That TD would've just delayed an inevitable TD by the Packers in return. Dallas D was out of gas.
After that "win" against Detroit, most people knew this was coming. Or at least you should have seen it coming. They never should have been seeded that high. They might have had a shot against the Rams but had no chance against the red-hot Packers.
With how well the Rams played against the Lions, I highly doubt Dallas would've stood a chance against them either.
Not sure why you're putting the word win in quotes especially since your boy Aiden Hutchinson got away with a blatant trip which would've given Dallas the first down and end the game before you'd even have a chance at that 2pt conversion
@@cypher787 Because any reasonable NFL fan knows that the Lions got screwed. They missed the tripping call, I get it, but if they want to get the first down, why would Dak throw 10 yards behind the sticks? CeeDee can easily win a 1 on 1 vs. Cam Sutton or Kindle Vildor. Cowboys fans also forget that Detroit easily marched down the field against that piss-poor Cowboys defense. Wether they get screwed with 10 seconds to go or 30 doesn't matter, it still happened and 99% of the league an anyone without implicit bias toward the Cowboys saw it.
Jerry announced today they aren't firing McCarthy. 😂😂
2024 to me is the most baffling collapse. While I did pick the Packers to upset, my assumption was a close game with a late FG by the Packers to seal the deal. Not have it sealed in the 2nd quarter. There's just too much damn talent on the Cowboys roster to be flopping like this.
But since I'm not a fan of theirs, it's really damned funny.
As long as Darth Jerry is Emperor of the Cowboys, nothing will ever change within the Cowboys.
Dak’s favorite playoff audible is codenamed “Titanic.”
Prescott is an alright QB, but if you have no run game and just have to pass the whole time, you end up with interceptions sooner or later.
They should go and get Bill while they have a decent team. I don't think Bill is going to coach for many more seasons, and that's his best option to get success in the next few years. Something like the Washington rebuild is a very long project.
I doubt Bill and Jerry could or would work together.
Parcells and Jerry weren’t exactly drinking buddies. Belechik and Jerry would likely be the same way.
@@zlinedavidyeah but ppl say bill's coaching philosophy and way of doing things would probably clash with Jerry's need to be included and the face of the team. That's just the discourse i'v seen
My Texans (who have only existed since 2002) have more playoff wins since the last Cowboys Super Bowl than the Cowboys do
Here's what makes it even sweeter: When the Cows won their last Super Bowl, no other active major league team in DFW had ever even played for a championship, unless you count the Dallas Sidekicks of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 1987. If you were a fan of the Mavericks, Stars or Texas Rangers, you were bullied mercilessly by Cow Sheep for your team never winning a title in what "isn't a REAL sport anyway." As of November 1, 2023, when the Texas Rangers FINALLY won the World Series, every single one of those three other teams has won a championship since the last time the Cows touched Lombardi. Even FC Dallas has at least played for the MLS Cup back in 2010. Sweet Victory indeed.
Have we reached the stage, where hate for Dallas morphes into pity? Na, can have both.

They made Stephen A. Smith a star
There was also a reason as to why they exist. Because of the founding of the American Football League with the establishment of a team in Dallas, the league agreed to expand after having told several of the AFL's founding owners that they were not interested in expansion. The most notable was Lamar Hunt whose Dallas Texans found themselves pitted against the Cowboys. Ultimately, Hunt moved the team knowing that the NFL would do whatever it took to make sure the Cowboys succeeded at the expense of the Texans.
many people are unaware that the Chiefs used to be a Dallas based team for a minute originally
Or that Houston weren't the first "texans"
@@thepolarphantasm2319Credit those Texans for winning an AFL title in 62 before they moved.
@@fortynights1513 one of my favorite pieces of weird ancient NFL trivia is the wartime existence of the Pennsylvania Steagles, lol.
Feels very much like some comic book crossover event, like when Magneto and Professor X combined to become Onslaught... until you realize all the talented players were storming Normandy, so it was just two decimated rosters of jabronis wearing odd uniforms 😂
There's another reason for the Cowboys existence, independent of the arrival of the AFL: the Redskins.
PART 1:
See, in 1958 Dallas oilman Clint Murchison negotiated with Redskins owner GP Marshall to buy the team and MOVE them to Dallas.
It was all done, but then Marshall tried to change one last condition. The terms were to allow Marshall to run the team after their move for 5 years... but then Marshall said he wanted 10. Murchison had had enough and told him to go screw himself; the deal was off.
PART 2:
Oh yes, this is still about the Redskins. See, 2 years later when Hunt and Adams started the AFL, Murchison went back to the NFL and said, cmon, you gotta let me start a team in Dallas now. The only owner voting against the expansion? You guessed it, GP Marshall.
(He considered his team's franchise territory to be ALL of the South, more specfically the former Confederate states; his team's fight song included "fight for old Dixie" in its original lyrics.)
Well, Murchison got tipped off that Marshall's relationship with the leader of the Redskins' marching band, Barnee Breeskin, had become badly soured. Murchison negotiated with Breeskin to buy the rights to what Breeskin had composed, and still owned, as the Washington fight song, "Hail to the Redskins".
Then he threatened Marshall to never allow him to play his team's fight song again if he didnt vote in favor of the expansion (which originally included Houston too).
Marshall agreed, the owners voted, the Cowboys were born, and Marshall got his song back.
EPILOGUE:
Marshall had a habit of pissing off the people under him to the point where they sought revenge; Harry Wismer was a minority owner of the Redskins who got disgruntled with Marshall... and then founded the Jets. That's right, we can blame BOTH the Jets AND the Cowboys on the Redskins.
And Marshall wasnt just an asshole who gave his team a racist name and a racist fight song and pissed off everyone he worked with. He also was a racist who insisted on keeping his team segregated until JFK threatened to have his lease at the brand new stadium in Washington, on federal land, revoked if he didnt integrate. Marshall finally gave in in 1962, the last NFL owner to do so.
@@thepolarphantasm2319 The year after that was Card-Pitt, the merger of the Steelers and then-Chicago Cardinals. They lost all their games and got known as "Car-Pitt" or the "Carpets" because the league went and walked all over them.
What made this recent collapse so puzzling is just the lack of fight. It was the equivalent of watching someone go into the fetal position.
Bingo. Yeah, it’s bad to lose regardless. But at least go out fighting. The Cowboys were all sitting on the sidelines looking like prison rape victims 😂. No fight at all. Utterly pathetic.

Aaaaand McCarthy just got confirmed as the HC next year!
The ball hit the ground in 2014, that is why it was incomplete. It would still be incomplete today because he did not maintain possession of the ball to the ground and it hit the ground. Very easy incomplete call.

As a Niners fan who spent the better part of his teens AND 20s watching an absolutely dogshit on-field product, all I can say is that while we also have an extensive streak of not winning the SB currently going on, the recent playoff revenge we've been able to take against the Packers (*knock on wood, hopefully Saturday goes good for us) and Cowboys is cathartic.
Niners hot take I have:
If Steve Young doesn’t get hurt in 1995, your team repeats, and we’d be debating whether the team of the 90’s should be San Francisco, Dallas, or Denver.
You had a pretty good season this year from a Seahawks fan.
The second best team statistically to Baltimore by some stats I calculate, and maybe you could have reached 15 wins without injuries.
@fortynights1513 Nope, because the 49ers had a little problem getting past the Packers and in 96 they won it all. Only a non call fumble by Rice allowed you to advance in 98 but otherwise the Packers owned S F.
@@c.l.freeman7654To clarify what I am thinking:
In 1995, the Niners went 11-5, and they had five games where Steve Young was injured and didn’t play (Elvis Grbac was the backup), two of which were close losses to Carolina and New Orleans.
I think San Fran goes 13-3 with Young playing those games, and importantly is the number one seed.
You are correct, they didn’t play well against Green Bay in the playoffs in those years. However in that 95 postseason, Green Bay lost to Dallas.
If San Francisco was the one seed, that matchup could’ve occurred in the divisional round.
If Dallas had beaten Green Bay, then I’m taking San Francisco over Philadelphia (who they would’ve played in the divisional), Dallas (who they played in 95 on the road and beat), and I say they beat Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl and repeat.
That’s why in 1995 I think there’s a world where San Francisco could have dodged Green Bay and gone all the way if Steve Young didn’t get hurt.
San Francisco had pretty good teams the next three seasons as well, but in 96 and 97 I don’t think there’s a way they could’ve avoided Green Bay, and in 98 their defense was showing its age, and I don’t think there’s a way they could’ve made it further than they did (not just the blown call before Terrell Owens’ catch, but the Falcons and Vikings were both better).
From a Seahawks fan, that’s a hot take I have about the 49ers.
Glad to see a Niners fan acknowledging their suspiciously Cowboys-esque playoff woes.
The problem with the Niners is everyone is willing to get on their knees and bob back and forth for Kyle Shanahan right up until he blows it in the playoffs.
@@drcox012 No way you think Shanahan is the problem for our playoff losses
Breaking news about 30 minutes ago, McCarthy will come back as HC. How bout them Cowboys.
The problem with the Dez catch is that the rules for a complete catch at that time were different than today. Back then you had to maintain possession through the ground. Dez did not. He made a football move which would constitute a catch today, however this football move led him to losing possession as he hit the ground, therefore making it an incomplete pass at this time in the league.
Even today I don't think they fall it a catch. He didn't "take 3 steps," he caught the ball and was falling to the ground and he didn't maintain control. Falling down wouldn't be considered a football move.
How can a team that has not won a championship in nearly 30 years still get the moniker of "America's Team" when another dynasty rose, fell, rose again, and fell again during that time? Why are the Cowboys still the default team for bandwagoners?
And that team that rose, fell and rose again are named the PATRIOTS, and are still not “Americas team”
Speaking as a native Texans, in the last 25 years, the cowboys have been all hat and no cattle
Tree's laugh in the background pretty much sums up the boys.
6:08 Brandon Jacobs absolutely heaving the ball at the play clock IN Dallas is an all time Giants moment
Honestly at times I wondered if the Packers knew the plays because of the signals and audibles. They sounded a lot like the signals McCarthy used in Green Bay.
The Eagles since that time 7 trips to the NFC Championship, 3 Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl Championship with 4 different coaches.
As of 7 hours after this video is out head coach MIKE is BACKKKKK as a giants fan IM SO HAPPY
This was a great vid man. I’m subbed.
I've been waiting for this I've been checking waiting for it
I don't think that McCarthy is the only one that needs to go in Dallas. I think that Jerry Jones needs to go too. And if he is not willing to go, at least stop meddling and get a real GM.
Brother, I've been begging for this old demented fart to drop himself as GM. He's the only common denominator left...
I love watching the Dallas Chokeboys in the playoffs
Fun facts, Dallas was the first #1 seed in the NFC to ever lose their first playoff game in the playoff format started in 1990. Then they became the first 2 seed ever to lose to the 7th seed, what other embarrasing first can occur next?
Man scoot is all over youtube right now I swear haha. this might be a blessing in disguise
Watching this video as the Cowboys front office confirms that McCarthy will be staying for another season (last of his contract) is pretty interesting 😂.
Keep up the great content, and go Pack go!
11:25 just saw a Schefter tweet saying that McCarthy is staying for another year 🤣🤣🤣
One thing you’re wrong about the Packers have more playoff win in AT&T Stadium because because you forgot to mention the Super Bowl in 2011
