Nice new desk setup, Tanner & even a new chair to boot!!! Impressive!!! Too bad that you won't be coming over to the East Coast in the Fall, but I think it was a sound, safe decision on MIT's part. This, too, shall pass. Enjoy.
You're welcome! I honestly just picked small electrolytic capacitor from my drawer(the larger value wasn't working as well) and the first resistor in my '1-50ohm' resistor drawer. I just happened to get lucky and it worked second try.
I own a power supply that looks exactly the same, even if it is 15V 3A (HQ Power PS1503SB), the V potentiometer is rotten and the voltage jumps from 4 to 6V (I supposed the previous owner used it at 5V) so I plan to replace it with a new one, I may use your video as a support. Thank you :)
I just bought a used one of these power supplies. Mine doesn't have any problem with the relay and the output seems to be stable and accurate. However, there's a humming noise coming out when it is switched on. Is this normal?
Its a very odd fix but okay it works perfectly. But i would have measured that capacitor to the base of the relaisswitching transistor or the continuïty of the grounds or plusses between the two or even all three apart subsupplies. Because you let the fault be fault and only made a surpression of the symptom. But okay it works well, and i myself, i sure made lesser fixes in my lifetime!!
Your power supply thought it was a geiger counter!
I think I am probably the only one to notice the music to your intro on your wall. Great videos!
Love the new desk and chair!! Is there anything you can't do?? I'm so glad you'll still be able to attend MIT online until all of this blows over. :)
Keep up the good quality videos man! Love it.
You are so incredible and amazing. Your videos are very educational.
I think you are great tanner tech
Great video I have the same power supply

Yep, the chair is very comfortable! I should be heading out east this spring though. Thanks!
You are amazing young man! How did you calculate the resistor and capacitor value? Thank you again for sharing your videos!

Your bench setup is awesome! And what are the music notes on the wall for?
looks to be the TT theme song!

You're welcome! Let me know how your restoration project goes and good luck!
@@TannerTech I will sure tell you once it's done, but it may take quite a loooonnnnngg time. :)

negative lead doesnt ground? ...but it was the positive lead. . .
True, I think that I meant the positive test lead shorted to ground.
...wheres that sandwich you owe me...
@@TannerTech other comment never posted, ill start again...
you tested one lead and then fixed the unit, but after you tested the other lead :p
second, also great video

Just to stop those "FiRsT cOmMeNt" people : This is the real first comment, and I saw it being posted
Yep, I can confirm this as well
Get rid of that annoying intro! UGH!!
