What you have here is a young Soldier, inexperienced and uneducated in the US Code, Laws and Regulations related to the mission of DSCA talking as an eyewitness and conflating first hand witnessing of events with understanding of the events. The decision to deploy and use the DC Guard was an option but one that had to be arranged BEFORE the event. The option was there and authority was granted by DoD and PotUS but was denied by the Congressional Leadership in the days prior.
We knew that it was too simple for protesters to walk into the Capitol with minimal resistance from Capitol police and conveniently egged on by shady people who either disappeared or were not charged by investigating authorities. The fact that National Guard troops were offered yet refused by top Washington Democrats leading up to the protest and the fact that during the protest the National Guard troops were, from what the whistleblowers are saying, apparently purposely delayed paints an unethical, sinister political twist to a sad chapter in our history.
The DC National Guard should not be under the control of the Federal government. At best it should be Army Reserve. The only National guard should be a battalion of Maryland and Virginia OPCON to DC mayor.

As someone who was watching the live feeds on that day up until they were cut off. There was no attack, it was a crowd of people walking in and were simply allowed to walk around. No one tried to stop them... So they roamed all over not even breaking anything. It looked like a tour group.

What you have here is a young Soldier, inexperienced and uneducated in the US Code, Laws and Regulations related to the mission of DSCA talking as an eyewitness and conflating first hand witnessing of events with understanding of the events.
The decision to deploy and use the DC Guard was an option but one that had to be arranged BEFORE the event.
The option was there and authority was granted by DoD and PotUS but was denied by the Congressional Leadership in the days prior.
We knew that it was too simple for protesters to walk into the Capitol with minimal resistance from Capitol police and conveniently egged on by shady people who either disappeared or were not charged by investigating authorities. The fact that National Guard troops were offered yet refused by top Washington Democrats leading up to the protest and the fact that during the protest the National Guard troops were, from what the whistleblowers are saying, apparently purposely delayed paints an unethical, sinister political twist to a sad chapter in our history.
