The fact they're actually making them more active and showing their thoughts is awesome plus now it's 10000% confirmed that the MC is more of a own character than the rappresentation of the Player.
I think it’s to highlight the lines that we should pay attention to at times to see if Albedo was hinting at something, since he speaks in heavy code from time to time. And if the players don’t really pay attention to what he says, then they won’t really be able to make out what the story was about? Still it feels like the traveler is more included

The story of Albedo and his "failed brother" sounds almost exactly like conjoined twins where one was killed to ensure the other's survival. The dead twin is not always completely detached from their alive sibling and will sometimes try to take over their actions as a form of "revenge". The analogy between Albedo and Durin being brothers but only one surviving is truly a wonderful story.

Ugh, okay, so I watched it back and forward like 15 times and I think, what happened is that there were three of them. Durin, "failed" (for some reason - like, didn't match all Rhinedottir's criteria she set for human being) Albedo and our Albedo. Our Albedo says that if he was the failed one, he would do the same as him, and that he perfectly understands him and his doings. His need to distract the others involved, and then killing Aether, who knew that Albedo was an artificial being. Then the failed Albedo could pose as our Albedo and be part of society instead. He doesn't say 'he' would hurt Aether, it's just him considering the failed Albedo's feelings. Aether still thinks something doesn't add up, and there's something else other than the whopperflower they defeated, so I think there will actually be a third part to the story. Or else they would make us wait for the whole year for another winter event...
Also - can you see how Albedo is actually getting further into his current phase - refining emotions? He's happy when they praise him, he understands why the failed one is so bitter and all that and apparently feels kinda sorry for him (he says he knows the other has never felt joy). It's all so precious ♡

@@cyankhan5096 No, I meant it like Durin AND failed Albedo AND our Albedo. I think Durin was a creation that succeeded, actually, if Rhine wanted to actually create a dragon. "Failed" Albedo is only failed because Rhinedottir's creation process failed to bring the expected result.
Genshin Impact's storylines keep getting better and better.... they keep sparking up excitment in me....

So basically, Durin's essense, spirit, or whatever lives on in dragonspine. Attempts to kill Albedo, the succeeded creation. For being the succeeded one thats living while he was not.
And it seems, Albedo feels the same. Taking from the fact it takes one to know one, he seems to know Durins intentions well.
Altho hes more so defending rather than actively ridding of him, he has no need to afterall. But under the constant watch of Durins essence, he agrees theres not much joy in living.
Which, rlly struck a chord for me atleast, it gives a bit more meaning to his general demeanor.
In any case, in durins eyes, its him or Albedo.

I personally dont think theres a third, the whopperflower came from Durin as sortof a created assasin to wipe him out afterall. And after assasination, due to its own urges, it'd replace him.
I also think a third would complicate the general battle of living between Albedo and whatever remains of Durin. Where would this third stand on the matter? The fake albedo we see near the end is what I speculate to be just another creation to rid of Albedo, a clone, like the whopperflower born from Durins essense infecting the life around dragonspine, rather than a third.
Tho I agree the notes about the "masters failed specimen in the dragons belly" and such not fitting in w my theory just yet. But i do think they could, if we knew more about what the sentences imply :D
My current assumption is that Albedo and Durin were the only succeeded living beings, but Durin was flawed and died early on. Durin was also the one to eat gailed subjects, which ngl seems like a very uninteresting point to add to this all

"Master's failed specimen in the dragon's belly" and "Primordial Human Project" don't really add up to this though I don't think. It's likely that there is another homunculus out there in Dragonspine trying to overhaul Albedo? Not sure lol

What I got out of this: Gold\Rhinedottir started a Primordial Human Project at some point, possibly trying to create some sort of army against Celestia. Albedo is the only experiment she suceeded in, and Durin ate the others???
I think only 2 survived her /his project durin and albedo,where albedo being the "perfect man made human" and durin was kinda like 95/96% perfect that's y he was evil or probably perfect as well but due to some past events turn evil (like dvalin in monstadt archon quest) as for the rest I guess they all failed

not celestia, teyvat. she created and released those wolf things in inazuma onto teyvat and it caused havoc and i believe two or three of the archons were slayed in this battle? the monsters kept on coming and coming and in the end, the archons and the gods decided to put an end to where the monsters were coming from, which was khaenri’ah

ive gone thru this quest in my two accounts and I LOVE how they customize the painting according to the choices.
Was extremely disappointed when Evil Albedo turned out to be a special Whopperflower. But judging from the ending, guess there's more to it. Hope Act 3 doesn't let me down.

@@Ash-qd2ke I don't think there will be a act 3 though if there is it might be only the adventurous guild wrapping up there dragonspine training session and might not be based on albedo cause we got to see a pretty satisfactory endind for albedo in act 2
Technically is both,like the actual Durin/Albedo wasn't the one you actually fight in the boss battle,after the you kill the boss,Aether think in his head that this fake that attacked them and ended up be reveal as a mutated whooperflower gave him a different feeling from the "Albedo" they met during act 1.
During the ending then we see Albedo final cutscene showing the actual mastermind "Albedo" was still well and alive, Albedo describe well what is probably gonna happen in the future by showing he understood his line of thoughts when he say the passage "creating miracolous lifeform to divert your attention" is pretty much saying he used and probably created through his blood this Whooperflower for his mimicry just as a coy,since the team at this point was aware of a fake Albedo roaming Dragonspine,he had to use this mutated monster to have them drop the guard down thinking that now is all solved and the fake is been dealt with.
But like Albedo say is just gonna try and wait the right moment now that all feel safe thinking the fake is gone,to at some point try strike down the real Albedo and Aether,most of the party indeed believe the Whooperflower was the impostor all along and Albedo have let them believe it so they won't be involve with this while he try handle it alone,but Aether pretty much was able to catch on that one be a diversion too,at this point maybe not in this event itself but we are bound to have a real boss fight against the actual Fake one at some point,but seem too good for later story plot so we definitely won't be able to see this one right away,i wonder if is either will be a future event or in Albedo future story chapter 2 we might see more.

from what i understand there are 3 albedos, real albedo, whopper flower and the failed albedo. durin ate (?) failed albedo yet somehow failed albedo survived and was freed from durins stomach. failed albedo created the whopper flower albedo to distract real albedo and his friends so he could take real albedos place and feel what it’s like to be human. it’s rly sad if u think abt it :(
I still can’t get over the fact that Albeto had absolutely no hesitation when jumping off the cliff to save Bennett, then the Traveler trying to go back to save both of them but Eula pulling him out of the way- the cutscene was honestly really cool to watch! I did however have a feeling that “Albeto” wasn’t going to be the same person as before…

I wish we got events with genius storylines like this more often. The thing I always loved the most about this game was the lore, so lately the lack of it and the rushed last act of Inazuma story quest kind of disappointed me... It kinda feels like the initial storywriters came back, or is it just me?
There's still a ton of lore, it's just always been hidden away in artifacts, weapons, materials descriptions and character stories/voicelines. The writing of the event stories and world quests is pretty great but the archon quests suffer because they try to fit too much into a three-act structure. If they would just stretch it out over five or six acts it would feel a lot better.

To explain what is happening: Albedo is not the first version of himself. "Proto-Albedo" was made by Rhinedottir as part of the Primordial Human Project, but it's implied that Durin ate him due to being a failure, but he managed to escape. Afterwards, he began tailing OUR Albedo, attempting to usurp his place, and Albedo knows. Durin is not the one responsible for Shadows Amidst Snowstorms; Albedo's Beta Test is.

They had a LOT to say, you know? As in there's a bunch of options when you talk to each of them in this part.
It's extra and usually unimportant, but it's always worth it talking to the npcs if they stay behind after the main story lines played out because sometimes, they can really add something to the characters!
